- Missile Boat - The Taurus is a missile boat and boasts an impressive armament of 10 separate launchers, each capable of firing 4 missiles. Each launcher is able to launch a variety of missiles easily, from concussion to cruise missiles allowing the ship to adapt to any situation. If missiles don't manage to do the trick it's dual turbolasers should do the trick.
- Shielding - Along with its heavy weaponry the Taurus boasts decent shielding, allowing it to charge into the fray to fire off its missiles while remaining well protected.
- Just Missiles Please - The Taurus' primary armament is missiles and this makes the corvette relatively inflexible outside it's primary role. Having no hanger and limited turbolaser weaponry means the ship only works well as an escort or combat ship and any ship with anti-missiles capabilities will give the Taurus a very tough time.
- Ion Signature - Like many ships using Ion engines, a distinctive Ion signature is let off when in use. This allows anyone to pick up the Ion trail and able to easily identify the size of the frigate based on how large of a signature it lets off. This prevents the ship from partaking in particularly stealthy operations unless its Ion engines are deactivated.
When the predecessors of the Risen Empire lost contact with the mainstream Empire soon their ships became outdated and fell to disrepair. The Imperials resorted to building their own set of vessels. Due to the limited resources and technical expertise amongst the naval engineers the original vessels were small vessels the size of corvettes and frigates. These vessels were designed to hit heavily despite their size, allowing them to stand up to the various threats within the unknown regions. As time progressed and the necessary resources and knowledge to build cruisers and star destroyers became available but the did Risen Imperials did not forget the very first vessels which ensured their survival. The Taurus-Class Missile Boat is one such ship based on an old design. Like its predecessors, its missiles pack a heavy punch and allow it to stand up to ships. Its shielding was designed to match its firepower, able to take quite a few hits before being disabled or destroyed.
