Appearance: Tavassem is a nine-foot-tall Malvil, a fungoid sentient. His general coloration is off-white; his outer cap is matte red with white accents; his inner cap is iridescent blue.
Personality: Tavassem is a bright, innovative thinker, fond of tackling challenges. He has very little trouble with authority. He tends to bond quickly and closely with others.
Force Sensitivity: Non-Force-User
Weapon of Choice: Malvils avoid combat when possible. If pressed, Tavassem can whip his tendrils quickly and hard. He prefers to avoid this, as Malvil tendrils are sensory as well as manipulative organs.
Skills: Tavassem is a talented shipwright. As with all Malvils, Tavassem can detect and evaluate the body temperature and heart rate of nearby beings.
Wealth: Tavassem makes a senior executive's wage and has very few ways to spend it.

History: Tavassem, like all Malvils, grew up on Xagobah in symbiosis with a small family of Xagobahn Xamsters. Eventually, however, the family passed away one at a time. By happenstance, there was no new generation. Rather than attempt symbiosis with a new family, Tavassem struck out on his own to see what the galaxy might offer a nine-foot-tall mushroom. He took up engineering, then starship design. Educated on Sluis Van, Tavassem took a position with Theed Hangar, and spent thirty years designing advanced life support and preservation systems for elite personal yachts. Now that Theed Hangar has expanded significantly, Tavassem's seniority and interests have put him squarely in a position of influence. Several recent Theed projects have focused on so-called 'hull tanking,' a matter of increasing a starship's internal resiliency and life support capabilities. In relation to these projects, Tavassem is nearly unsurpassed within the Engineering Corps, and has the staff and budget to match.
