“Throughout the course of galactic history it is supremely clear that with every faith comes its own band of zealots and extremists. This is the fundamental law of any established faith: for every faithful pilgrim, a zealous crusader.”
INTRODUCTION
Virmasi, unlike Kissai, is a term that is not commonly found within ancient Sith society or lore. Instead, it is a modern fabrication in order to match the needs of the faith and its member base. The idea of the Virmasi is that they are a united force of pious warriors that fight in the name of the Jen’Tevas and serve in order to protect the faithful and peaceful Kissai or citizens around the galaxy. The Virmasi are hardened and trained warriors that pledge themselves to the name of the Jen’Tevas and the safety of his servants anywhere at anytime. As warriors, this division of the faith is centered primarily for those interested in combat and war. When the time of Kartae, holy war, comes, the Virmasi are those that will be sent to the front to fight or defend in the name of the Jen’Tevas. The Virmasi are very strict in who is let in and who is not. Outsiders are not allowed to serve in the army of the Virmasi unlike the Kissai due to the fact that many secrets are held by the command structure of this division.
RANKING STRUCTURE
The Virmasi operate underneath a strict, orderly hierarchy that follows a strict set of regulations to determine how one will advance through the ranks. Unlike the fluid and typically free going nature of the Kissai caste, the Virmasi operate under standards of skill and strength in order to determine their level and where they belong. As Virmasi, members of this caste are expected to defend the Kissai and civilians that may be located at any given temple as well as serving within the crusading armies should the time arise for such a brutal measure. As the Virmasi operate under a stricter hierarchy, the rank progression is much more rigid and difficult to achieve as well as far longer. While this may be the case, there are more opportunities for the members of the Virmasi caste. Members of this caste are more likely to become Lords than the Kissai.
Tyro
The Tyro rank is dedicated for those that have just chosen to become members of the Virmasi caste. At this rank, members of the Virmasi caste are inexperienced in the art of combat, the Jen’Qo, or any of the functions of temples and missions around the galaxy. As Tyros, these members of the Virmasi caste are immediately brought to a temple much like the Loimus-Kissai and are organized into classes that are led by a Virmasi Captain. In these classes, Tyros are sent on missions and challenges in order to teach them about cooperation and the Jen’Qo as well as honing their combat abilities. Proficiency in blasters and sword based weaponry is taught in these missions as well as lightsaber combat for those that join and are force sensitive. These classes are meant to last for a period of 16 days* where at the end of the class, the Tyros have a sufficient knowledge of combat and the Jen’Qo in order to move onto their next rank and begin the true path of the Virmasi.
*Like the Kissai, 16 days just simply means sufficient training and learning within threads that will be judged by the Virmasi Captain in charge of the class.
Virmasi
At this rank, Tyros have entered into the defense force of the Church of the Jen’Tevas. Those that have entered this rank are the basic fighting force of the faith and are those that would find themselves on the frontline. Typically, the Virmasi are respected as warriors and members of the faith that should not be trifled with. In times of peace, they are typically found guarding various missions and temples or accompanying Kissai in their various priestly missions around the galaxy. Virmasi are allowed to take on their own missions and self-trainings at this rank unless it is a time of war. Virmasi are expected to report to either a commanding officer upon promotion or report to one of the various temples until given a squad to join. Once part of a squad or after having proved oneself worthy through battle or showcase, one is capable of being promoted from a simple foot soldier to a Virmasi Captain, a commander of a squad of Virmasi soldiers. In order to be promoted, one must show that they are capable in combat or in strategy as well as in faith to the Jen’Qo. After having shown their worth, they may apply to lead a squadron.
*To be promoted, simply complete a minimum of 3 threads showcasing your development and usage of skills learned as a Tyro as well as cooperation with other Virmasi or Tyros. After this, direct yourself to the promotion application thread located in the Virmasi forum.
Virmasi Captain
Virmasi Captains are forces that are truly to be reckoned with. At this rank, those that have joined with the Virmasi have reached a true position of power within the faith. As captains, these warriors have the ability to lead a squad composing of a maximum of 15 Virmasi soldiers and are the commanders of these individual squadrons during any conflicts that may arise. Virmasi Captains are expected to lead classes of Tyros when not on duty or not training with their squadrons and leading these Tyros down the path of the Jen’Qo and the Virmasi. As captains, these members of the Virmasi caste are capable of becoming Lords of the faith and capable of holding estates and lands within planets conquered through crusade. Virmasi captains are always to be addressed as Sir or Madame when being spoken to by a lower ranked Virmasi soldier. Unless permission is given, this is non-negotiable. Virmasi Captains may see promotion to commander through showcasing their ability to lead their squads through combat or through situations that could cause them to bond and cooperate together. Virmasi Captains are expected to be able to utilize any weaponry they may find during a combat situation
Virmasi Commander
Virmasi Commanders are the tactical brilliance behind the campaigns and crusades of the faith, lending their strategic ability and martial prowess to their fellows both on and off the battlefield. The leaders of the Virmasi, the Virmasi Commanders control entire battalions of lower ranking Virmasi soldiers. Battalions can consist of anything between 3-5 Squads, led by Virmasi Captains. The Commanders are the beings who bring glory to the faith through their leadership, with their loyal troops by their side, as Leaders. To become a Virmasi Commander, one must display excellent martial prowess, alongside the ability to lead well and strategize equally so.
Virmasi Commanders are the Generals of the Crusader Corps, and thus, have large input in the politics of the faith’s military. This contributes to their ability to discuss and implement the strategy behind the Crusades of the faith. They are the masterminds of the tactics behind every victory the faith achieves. They are addressed by the rank of Commander, followed by their respective name.
