- Infantry based droid is slightly larger than a standard human, but has superior strength, speed, and dexterity due to high quality servos and build quality of the frame.
- Droid is able to utilize any weapon system that is man portable and is even able to utilize armor reinforcements meant for infantry based armors to increase its durability.
- Comes standard with combat based protocols, allowing this droid to integrate at the fire team level with any squad be they organic or not. TDW has access to a higher tiered version of this software, since it's directly based off of Sergei's combat data, which makes the droids highly lethal and effective.
- Droids are faster and stronger: The TCD is designed as an all around combat platform that can move, shoot, and communicate on the ground as a part of any soldier unit. It can do this with strength, speed, and precision that far outpaces organic troopers ability to do the same. This unit is also able to mimic "training" that it receives from specific combatants to mimic their combat ability and decision making to enhance their abilities in combat.
- You can "train" drones to specialize in certain combat: So above the heuristic processor's capability to mimic being trained to perform certain combat tasks at a higher level than standard droids. This gives the droids the ability to have a step ahead of the original learning curve to make them even more deadly out the gate, and able to specialize in certain ground or space combat specialties. To put it simply, the more combat these droids experience, the deadlier they become, and you can upload presets into it to increase its effectiveness out of the gate.
- These droids naturally mimic personalities: To increase each droid's effectiveness when working with organic combatants they are programmed to mimic human personalities. This includes speech patterns, mannerisms, and postures to increase this droid's ability to connect with its organic counterparts. It will naturally try to comfort its allies, and even will form friendships with soldiers its attached to for periods of time.
- These droids need to learn: These droids are only as effective as you allow them to be. The learning processors on them requires that you either upload programming with basic responses and build from there. These droids need to actually be exposed to combat to become more effective, and while you can short cut this by taking combat data from actual troops, you need to have elite forces that are at extreme levels of training to give them the ability to perform on that level. And even then they won't surpass it because the droids creative process is, if x didn't work, try something else. And in battle you often don't get a second chance.
- Mind wipes are actually detrimental: So for most droids you want to give them routine mind wipes to keep their processors and memory banks relatively uncluttered to keep their efficiency up. With these droids that actually makes them less effective because you are essentially wiping whatever combat data they or you have collected and will make them resort to a more basic state. This also means that the droids have the possibility to become attached to their units if attached to organic teams. And an irrational droid can become very dangerous.
- Can only use weapons designed for actual infantry: These droids are reliant on whatever weapons you give them to be effective in combat. Unlike droids with built in weapon systems, these do not have any internal ammo storage, weapons, or other types of equipment aside from necessities. This means that each droid has to be equipped like your average infantryman. Is it great for large organic armies that just want to augment their soldiers? Yes. But for those looking for soldiers they can just turn on and let loose, you're gonna either need to make a few more purchases, or look elsewhere.
This droid's origins are actually from two totally separate, yet somehow coincided requests from within the CIS and TDW. From the CIS's Ministry of Science, they wanted a basic combat unit to replace the base droid units they are employing to increase effectiveness, efficiency, and lethality general combat scenarios. From TDW, Sergei realized that his small unit won't be able to solve every problem on its own without support from a larger, more conventional force. Dr. Alphonse looked to the problems and realized the solution was simple, create a combat platform that could be utilized as general infantry, and then through software upgrades to its heuristic processor could become more effective and lethal in ground combat as it would replicate the knowledge of seasoned combatants. So he designed the droids from the ground up to essentially be a robotic version of what a human would be, albeit heavier and slightly bigger, increasing mainly the strength of the models so that they could assist organic units in battle. When the physical pieces of the droids were done, Dr. Alphonse personally oversaw the development of the software, noting that droids programmed with personalities while often originally received with more suspicion by their organic units, saw a 65% increase in effectiveness and survival rate on the battlefield as their teams were more likely to trust them. Add into this that the droids themselves would learn from their teammates actions, and would learn much quickly from a group of people than a single person or worst of all, in a group completely made up of itself, and these droids excel when supporting infantry. However to try and beat the curve for TDW's request, Dr. Alphonse had Sergei personally acquire well over five hundred hours of combat, de-escalation, and other battlefield knowledge for the TDW's models, as he needed them at peak effectiveness on arrival. This makes TDW's droids more aggressive in combat but also more adaptable than the standard droids sold to outside customers. One thing to note for the droids is that unlike standard droid models, mind wipes are detrimental to their combat performance, as they lose combat data, which means that the droids are at risk over time to becoming irrational and becoming extremely attached to the units they are assigned to. And as most people know in the galaxy, a droid that's not only irrational, but programmed to be extremely lethal in a variety of situations, can be exceedingly dangerous to everyone. Buyers need to be aware that once you put droids into a unit, be prepared to have to mind wipe them before reassignment or risk the droids becoming violent.
