- Infantry based droid is slightly larger than a standard human, but has superior strength, speed, and dexterity. Strength of the droid is based on a combination of extremely heavy duty servos, Combat Myomer Actuation System, and high strength Phrik-A Endo-skeleton. Speed is based on the responsiveness of CMAS, along with dexterity as the droid is able to minutely make micro-adjustments to movements with its fingers, optical sensors, head, hands, and feet to mimic human mannerisms.
- Droid is able to utilize any weapon system that is man portable and is even able to utilize armor reinforcements meant for infantry based armors to increase its durability.
- Unlike the original production lines, this droid comes with combat data based solely off of Sergei Jachovich. This makes the droids highly aggressive in combat situations, utilizing their superior speed and strength to their advantage to maintain an highly aggressive combat style. This includes a basic programming piece that essentially includes the droid's ability to take in tactical combat data, formulate a plan of attack that utilizes advanced infantry tactics and then executes this plan in seconds with the entire droid squad knowing exactly what to do, where to go, and how to execute the plan.
- Droid comes pre-programmed with the operation and use of every man portable weapon available to the CDF and TDW, while also having operations to learn how to utilize new weapons encountered in the field.
- Each droid is able to act as a communications relay through the Wind Talker Class Comm Array, making a repeating network that's able to allow multiple nodes of communication. This adds more potential points for any communications to bounce to, to get to its intended target.
- Comes with its own orbital insertion pods and equipment out the gate for use in orbital deployments. This equipment is however extremely easy to shed should normal deployments be enacted and during orbital insertions actually is designed to mostly burn off until the deployment of drag/landing devices. This slows the droid enough to the point of impact to allow for this droid to perform orbital or even airborne insertions. And since it comes with the equipment to do so, why not?
- Droids are faster and stronger: The TCD is designed as an all around combat platform that can move, shoot, and communicate on the ground as a part of any soldier unit. It can do this with strength, speed, and precision that far outpaces organic troopers ability to do the same. And with this thing's combat profile set from Sergei's own personal combat data, this droid uses those physical abilities with extreme aggression and tactical proficiency. And with a naturally very high defense against the force, these droids are plenty useful against those space wizard types.
- You can "train" drones to specialize in certain combat: So above the heuristic processor's capability to mimic being trained to perform certain combat tasks at a higher level than standard droids. This gives the droids the ability to have a step ahead of the original learning curve to make them even more deadly out the gate, and able to specialize in certain ground or space combat specialties. To put it simply, the more combat these droids experience, the deadlier they become, and you can upload presets into it to increase its effectiveness out of the gate.
- These droids naturally mimic personalities: To increase each droid's effectiveness when working with organic combatants they are programmed to mimic human personalities. This includes speech patterns, mannerisms, and postures to increase this droid's ability to connect with its organic counterparts. It will naturally try to comfort its allies, and even will form friendships with soldiers its attached to for periods of time. This has been enhanced with The Dire Wolves version of the program, meaning the only way these droids actually leave squads is if they are destroyed, and for Commandos of a specific unit in TDW each droid has a specific partner that they work with. And they are each designed to complement their partners in combat with extreme effectiveness and efficiency.
- These droids need to learn: These droids are only as effective as you allow them to be. The learning processors on them requires that you either upload programming with basic responses and build from there. These droids need to actually be exposed to combat to become more effective, and while you can short cut this by taking combat data from actual troops, you need to have elite forces that are at extreme levels of training to give them the ability to perform on that level. And even then they won't surpass it because the droids creative process is, if x didn't work, try something else. And in battle you often don't get a second chance.
- Mind wipes are actually detrimental: So for most droids you want to give them routine mind wipes to keep their processors and memory banks relatively uncluttered to keep their efficiency up. With these droids that actually makes them less effective because you are essentially wiping whatever combat data they or you have collected and will make them resort to a more basic state. This also means that the droids have the possibility to become attached to their units if attached to organic teams. And an irrational droid can become very dangerous.
- Can only use weapons designed for actual infantry: These droids are reliant on whatever weapons you give them to be effective in combat. Unlike droids with built in weapon systems, these do not have any internal ammo storage, weapons (aside from the two concealed extremely light blasters), or other types of equipment aside from necessities. This means that each droid has to be equipped like your average infantryman. Is it great for large organic armies that just want to augment their soldiers? Yes. But for those looking for soldiers they can just turn on and let loose, you're gonna either need to make a few more purchases, or look elsewhere.
- Actual Directed Electrical Attacks: So a lot of the circuitry while insulated on these droids to protect against force and elemental attacks, are not insulated against actual electrical attacks. This means that if you can harness directed electrical energy to use as a weapon against these droids, that isn't reliant on the force as a delivery system (looking at all you sith lords, Sith Lightning is still force generated meaning you're gonna have to get a little more creative than that).
A further development from the Commando/Assault Droid program, this variant of the Tactical Combat Droid is made to be stronger, faster, and more adaptable than its predecessor. This droid has increased Phrik-A reinforcements in its armor systems and more insulation and heat treatments to parts making it an extremely durable and able to deploy to any type of combat zone imaginable. These droids are also programmed directly off of Sergei Jachovich's combat data, giving them a supreme edge in combat where they utilize aggressive and adaptive targets. On top of this they have a processor that can allow the droids to take combat data that they've seen themselves, allowing them to learn and become much more lethal than they were off the production line. This means that when you train with these droids, they can take the data from that training and apply it to real life scenarios allowing for droids to learn off of people and their training scenarios to become more powerful and adaptive combatants. And then there's the programming. Designed to work with organic combatants, these droids can serve in all droid squads, but are much more effective when paired with organic soldiers. This allows for the droid to see the combat tendencies of the soldiers they serve with, and allow for a seamless integration from the most simple of protective details, to high level combat insertions on black ops missions. These droids do it all, and when paired with an operator, they will become an army of two on any battlefield.
Now for some known problems, these droids don't come out the gate with significant weaponry aboard aside from the two extra light concealed blasters in their arms meaning that if you want them to be serious players on the field of battle, you're gonna have to buy them guns. Another issue is that mind wipes for these droids are actually detrimental to their performance, meaning that if you try to mind wipe one of them, one of two things are going to happen. The droid itself will be mind wiped and revert back to base combat performance losing all of the ground you've gained on making it a hyper-lethal and extremely efficient battlefield combatant. Or, if no maintenance has been done in a while, the droid will see you as a threat, and things will get violent. This means that in order to perform upkeep maintenance on the droids, you have to defragment and clean out their memory banks of useless clutter data, and perform selective wipes of repetitive data which is much, much more maintenance intensive. And while the droid can assist you with that, you are still gonna have to get some serious equipment to do the maintenance. And lastly, for all of the protections on this unit (including the ability to catch lightsabers), this unit in order to maintain its agility requirements still has a lot of exposed wiring, servos, and other pieces of machinery that while are difficult targets to hit with conventional weapons, naturally occurring electricity is very effective. This method of attack will short out the droids and for short periods reset their operating systems forcing a restart. For much longer periods of time though this will cause the onboard circuitry to short circuit, and cause the droids themselves to fry, making them essentially heaps of unusable scrap.
So long story short, these droids are extremely adaptable and quite capable combatants on any field of battle. They have a few exploitable weaknesses, but with their strength and intelligence, any opponent they come against will be hard pressed to handily defeat them in battle. They are aggressive, tactical, and above all quite resilient models, and may the gods have mercy on you if you see these coming. Because you now have one hell of a fight on your hands.
