:: HERO of KORRIBAN ::

The winter on Ossus had been unusually warm. It’s inhabitants had barely seen a skiff of snow all season long, which is what made the current cold snap that much more unbearable. Judah had never really cared for winter much, even though he could stomach it. There had been several times he had been snowed in with his family when they lived on Coronet Peak. Maybe it was the cold, or the site of the snow, but for the moment, Judah had been feeling sentimental.
Tom did not make a mint tea the way Katara could, but it was better than having nothing. Judah had learned to appreciate the small pub that was within walking distance of the temple. The village around it was quaint, keeping a small town mountain home kind of feel. It was close to living in the mountains that Judah was going to get, so he embraced it.
He occupied his usual booth. Judah sat in the back corner where his back was against the wall and his eyes were always on the door. His training as a shadow had always ensured he would never sit with his back to a door. His line of sight had to be on every entrance or exit that was available to him in case he needed to move. Even now, when he was supposed to be relaxing on a cold day by a fire he could not turn it off.
Judah was dressed warm, wearing a fur lined jacket over his typical long sleeve shirt and canvas pants. Often when he was alone the Jedi did not look the part. He was more spacer than Jedi sometimes, and tonight was one of those occasions.
Tom sat the tea on the table.
“Cold night…”
“Long night,” Judah answered.
The pubkeep nodded and left Judah to his tea after picking up the credits left on the wooden top for him. A sip of the tea was taken to test the temperature. It was just right. The cup settled down with a light clink as Judah looked up and spied a familiar face.
“Valery Noble… sneaking out tonight are we?”
