Citizen Advice Drones

Description: On every street, in every district, you will find Citizen Advice Drones. Comprised of a very small body with advanced propulsion and scanners, these drones create a holographic projection around a metre across in a sphere around the body. Generally they will bob around, displaying helpful and motivational messages on the surface of the projection.

At any time a citizen may hail a drone and it will approach. Questions can be asked verbally and the drone will assist where it can. It may, for instance, project directions across its holographic surface, or answer questions about the surroundings. All citizens have their schedules centrally set, so it may also know where the citizen is supposed to be. In an emergency a CAD is able to provide a level of triage, and signal for emergency services. Their field projectors are beyond Chaos Universe equivalent and can encapsulate and carry several citizens away from harm.

Peacekeepers will use these drones to cordon off areas and they are also able to act as traffic signs. In the event of unrest, they have a single stun blaster and are able to project their force fields to contain unruly citizens. They do have very little in the way of defences, other than having their bodies permanently hidden in a holographic projection and being very small targets.

There is an even darker side to these drones. Advanced scanners can recognise the identity of several hundred citizens within visual range in microseconds. They are constantly recording and sending information to the Department for Re-education. Any whisper in the vicinity of a drone is recorded, tagged to an individual and transcribed. To express a negative opinion on the Emperor near one of these drones is to invite a visit from the DfR and time in an Emotional Alignment facility.

Description: Peacekeeper Drones are a constant sight, flying at speed over the skies of Imperial Centre leaving criss-crossed trails. The Empire maintains a tight grip over the sprawling metropolis and often Peacekeepers [equivalent to our Stormtroopers, but there are no wars for them to fight in] will respond to incidents directly with CADs rather than using armed drones.

Some may be aware that these drones are seen leaving the world altogether to fly to the World Razer, which hangs over Cormalum in low orbit. Fewer still may have heard rumours of the World Razer deploying thousands of these drones to subjugate whole worlds.

There have been no significant incidents which required these drones to be deployed in significant numbers at Imperial Centre for years. However, when they are deployed they swiftly deal with any perceived threats. Constructed from advanced technology their array of blasters can disintegrate scores of dissidents in a matter of moments. Their deflector shields can take a significant beating from handheld weaponry and even lightsabers.

The hilt is made of highly polished durasteel with electrum inlays. Though they may be beautiful works of art, they are also highly functional weapons. The blades are blood red and cast an eerie, unforgiving glow in order to symbolize the Emperor’s desire to shed the blood of those who would dare resist his will.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=14.6667px]When the blade is deactivated, the user may engage the weapon’s secondary function. Power from the cell is diverted to electrodes next to the blade emitter, and can cast a powerful electric shock capable of stunning enemies. This secondary function is important for nonlethal capture, because those who view the blade are marked for judgment by the Emperor himself, and will not be allowed to live.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=14.6667px]Thought to be relics from the early efforts to fight against the Empire, the Resistance Lightsabers were clearly designed with stealth in mind. Through means lost to the general public, the hilts were imbued with the ability to cloak the user in shadows. Though this does not render them invisible, it does give them the ability to more easily sneak around without being detected. When the blade is activated, this ability is washed away by the brilliance of the blade.[/SIZE]
