A young initiate of the New Jedi Order, Tel Ahren is—so far as he or anyone else is aware—a native of the Core worlds. While it is possible that he could have been born on the planet Anzat, nobody has really made any headway in determining if that is the case, nor are there many who are inclined to, knowing the usual predilections of the natives. He was delivered to the New Jedi Order amid the conflict with the Brotherhood of the Maw, a youngling passed into the care like a remnant of a tradition nearly a millennium past; luckily, there were enough within the Order that knew what they were doing with infants to actually take care of him.
Unfortunately, he had no papers, no actual birth record, and no name, essentially left the first Jedi willing to take him with nothing more than a 'take care of him' and a wish that the stability of the Core would be good for him.
Given that the wars that kept plaguing the unstable galaxy managed to find their way in to the point that he could remember a battle happening in the temple on Coruscant, the entrance itself brought down amidst a whirling maelstrom as he was quickly hurried away and into a safer place. He could remember spending time on a mobile temple ship, hearing about fighting on Tython. Then again, and again, and again, war sweeping through the Core just as surely as Manaan's currents ran the tides along the edges of Ahto City.
In the face of such, not being one of the ones ready to move towards the front lines—training was slow going. Masters, knights, and even the more adept padawans were often volunteering for the front lines, and despite everything Tel still felt somewhat bound by that wish that had accompanied him when he was given to the Jedi, which meant he shied away, occupied himself with books and holos, and let himself stagnate. Now, however—with the Dark Empire mostly gone from the Core, with the threats back out on the Outer Rim, and with Tel, while nowhere near an adult yet for his species, at least passing as a young adult for most near-humans and humanoids—perhaps it's the time for him to actually step foot on the path that's been put before him, and see what life may hold.
