  • Intent: Create the first non Force means of personal short range teleportation on the board that can be worn. Also boost the ego of my character Taji by him doing so.
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Nelson Prototyping
  • Affiliation: Taji Nelson
  • Model: TN03 - Teleportation Belt
  • Modularity: The metals it is made out of could be replaced.
  • Production: Unique
  • Material: Durasteel, Leather, Circuitry, Computer Components.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • N/A
STRENGTHS
  • Size: The teleport belt compared to the bulkier teleportation systems is more compact and easier to use. This makes it preferable to them.
  • Able to Teleport: The fact it is able to teleport makes it one of the most versatile belts in existence.
  • Lightweight: Compared to the bulkier transporters, this is lightweight and easy to transport.
WEAKNESSES

Limited Range: Each jump can only be 5 Feet at most. The smaller the jump, the less power it drains from the belt.

Limited Jumps: This can only make 5 jumps per powerpack.

Not meant for combat: This item is not meant for any form of combat whatsoever.

Vulnerabilities: These include EMPs, The Force, Slicers, Magnets, water, and acid. All in all the belt is easy for anyone to damage should they wish to do so.

Not Easy to Reproduce: The belt is not easy to reproduce. (Would take 3 complete threads of 5 posts) to make a new one of.

Calculations: Takes 5-10 seconds to plot a safe jump before the jump can be executed.

Not Hands Free: Should the hands of the user be immobilized they would be unable to make jumps.

Prone to Overheating: Doing rapid jumps in succession will cause the belt to overheat, and be ruined.

DESCRIPTION

With the lack of any true means of teleportation accessible in the galaxy that didn’t involve the Force, Taji decided to rectify the problem, and not just to soothe his ego at the original armor not performing as he had intended. This belt is the result of many sleepless nights for him and many attempts to build a teleportation system that actually works. This belt has no armor value whatsoever, but it can teleport up to 5 Feet at a whack.

The teleportation device was born from his endeavours, and so the first actual teleportation device in the galaxy that is not Rakata Technology has come to exist.

What this does is dissolve a person into molecules, and then move the molecules a short distance away, namely up to 5 Feet.

Hey there. I will be the judge of your submission today. Lets start shall we?

Size: The teleport belt compared to the bulkier teleportation systems is more compact and easier to use. This makes it preferable to them
The only technology based utilization of Teleportation have been created by the Rakata. Which are a banned Technology.

Not meant for combat: This item is not meant for any form of combat whatsoever.
While you do mention this as a weakness, it is not one that is accepted by the factory. Here is why.
  1. Despite other weaknesses mentioned, it can still be used in combat by way of biding ones time for the couple seconds it takes to make the jump.
  2. It can be difficult to use in combat due to the "charge up time" or what have you, but not impossible. As Star Wars tends to be mostly about conflict and combat scenarios, someone will use it in such capacity.
  3. Its not a viable weakness. There are many items that can easily be considered "not meant for combat" but are still used for it.
Not Easy to Reproduce: The belt is not easy to reproduce. (Would take 3 complete threads of 5 posts) to make a new one of.
The utilization of "Development threads" have been removed from the factory and codex. Putting this in the submission is nothing but fluff, and is not a physical limitation of the item itself.

The teleportation device was born from his endeavours, and so the first actual teleportation device in the galaxy that is not Rakata Technology has come to exist.
Once more, Rakata Technology is banned.

Finally, Teleportation is a very limited application on Chaos. One of the more "Powerful uses" of technology on the site. And thus, requires as detailed submission, as it is considered a particularly powerful or rare technology. Namely its feature of teleportation.

I was going to ask that you go more in depth as to how it perform this act of teleportation, Why does it require a "count down" for calculations in order to teleport? Is it based off of previous technology? How was it able to be made in a compact and light weight form when it is proposed that other forms are heavier, and bulky or more difficult to use than this one?

HOWEVER! this is not something I see that could be justified on Chaos. With no real other forms of this being in Canon, limited to banned technology, or usage within the Force based applications.

For that, I will be denying this submission on the application of the rule thereof,
All submissions need to conform to the general idea of Star Wars.

If you feel this is an incorrect judgement on my part, you may Second Chance it if you wish. Until then, this is Denied.[/QUOTE]
