Tell Me A Lie

The deck was quiet and cold. The majority of the ship's crew was off on shore leave, courtesy of their lord. A skeleton crew had remained to keep the vessel from falling in on itself, but otherwise the Chimaera was utterly empty.

Mephirium stood upon the bridge of the vessel alone. He'd ordered the remnants of the crew to the aft ends of the ship for the time being. For the next hour or so, he would have the deck of the legendary Star Destroyer all to himself. Well, all to himself, save for one.

Oddly enough, the first to be conscripted had proven to be the most loyal. with time, [member="Darth Kentarch"] had been given some semblance of responsibility. When that had shown itself to be the correct move, the nascent Sith Lord had even been allowed a modicum of trust unseen in Mephirium's others servants and constituents. Perhaps it was because of their shared kinship when it came to caring for the world of Ession, or perhaps it was because Kentarch had been the sole man to know Mephirium yet lived after the coup.

Either way, when the time to move came, Mephirium had not hesitated to call upon Kentarch. The other man had proven himself time and time again to be as loyal as he was secretive. That was not to say that Mephirium trusted him with everything, but enough to at least turn his back to Darth Kentarch.

Enjoying the calm of solitude, Mephirium awaited Kentarch's arrival. It was here that they would plot the future of the stars, just as they had two years ago. Despite himself, Mephirium found that he was giddy at the prospects.

The stealth ship, a Phasma-Class Corvette known as the Black Mercury, cut across the void of space and made its way to the relic that was the Chimaera.

Inside the cloaked figure that was Darth Kentarch watched as his agents work, sending the Black Mercury's clearance codes for docking. Kentarch did not say a word as the ship touched down inside the hangar. Instead he promptly switched the manual release for the off-ramp, and descended from his own ship.

He wasted no time making his way to the bridge of the ancient vessel. He made no attempt to conceal himself with the force, there was no reason for it. [member="Darth Mephirium"] had made the call and the call had to be answered. This was the way it had to be. The man whether he wanted it or not had taken up the mantle and by doing so changed the galaxy forever.

Kentarch had arrived in Mephirium's presence quickly, walking across the bridge to the viewport to gaze out at the stars. He offered a bow before speaking. "It seems I am needed. Have you decided to take responsibility for actions?" He asked looking at into the void.

Kentarch was a loyal beast. Only he and Marcus Itera had proven themselves to be worthy of Mephirium's inner circle, the two having sworn themselves to Mephirium's cause in one way or another since before the coup. Where Marcus was a close friend, Kentarch was a valued colleague. The word friend may have been a bit of a stretch, but Mephirium did find that he had grown rather fond of the conniving bastard.

With a wave of his hand, he welcomed Kentarch. "I have from the very beginning Kentarch," he began. "You know that I have never shirked the duty. We needed to wait for the rotting beast to finally die. Now it has, and we will be hailed as the heroes to pick up the pieces." The smile he affixed his old ally with was genuine.

"You have stood at my side before any other would dare to do so. I do not forget such loyalty. The galaxy is ours to take, Darth Kentarch, and you will remain within my inner circle once we've finished." he paused, quirking a brow at his colleague. "How have you fared, old friend?"
