BIOGRAPHY:
Born on Dahomey during the time when it came to be exploited, Tempest’s life was hard. Dahomey was still a pre-industrial society, regressed due to isolation, and her people lived as hunters and traders a hundred miles from the capital Abomey. Her childhood was happy enough and though her parents were not wealthy, she did not go without. Nonetheless she was taught to be strong and resilient and to live sparsely. Ironically, gold was extremely common on Dahomey, meaning it was used in mundane and amazing ways such as tarpaulin weights and serving platters. What was rare was steel and technology, and that was the most valuable commodities.
When she was thirteen years old the company known as IMG, the Independent Mining Guild, came to Dahomey. Immediately seeing the potential for massive profit, they bought up the gold for tiny amounts in exchange for modern advancements and technology. Tempest’s parents were slow to take advantage of this, and so found themselves with their ancient tech totally useless to everyone else. Their opposition to IMG meant that the family was a target of the corporation, who offered generous ‘donatives’ to any warlord who took care of the problem.
A group hostile to Tempest’s family attacked them and her parents and brothers were killed in the battle, and Tempest was taken as a slave. Tempest’s lot only got worse when she was sold on to a brutal IMG overseer who had found the local women to be a valuable commodity to be traded in addition to his mining extractions. Tempest does not talk about this time, but it was clear that some very unhappy and traumatic events occurred.
Finally, the breaking point for Tempest came when she was sold on again at the to a new Master. A new warlord from the stars, a general named Amherst, took control of the planet and thoroughly repressed both the IMG and the locals for his own ends. Tempest’s new Master, an officer in the invading army of General Amherst, was particularly cruel and took out his vicious urges on his slaves. In the end it was not harm to her which was the straw which broke the bantha’s back, but when her Master beat one of the other slaves.
Tempest unleashed a terrible blast of Force energy, killing her Master and the guards before collapsing from the strain.
When she came to, she found that Amherst’s men had taken them prisoner, and she was due to be executed.
Fortunately, salvation was at hand, as the forces of then Omega Pyre arrived and defeated and killed Amherst’s soldiers. Dahomey was taken into first the Pyre’s then the Protectorate’s orbit, though it retained strong links to Tegaea Alcori and @[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"], the leaders of the liberation force.
Tempest herself was taken in by Tegaea and given a job as an aide on Fondor. She was treated well and both Tegaea and Siobhan looked after her so that when it was time for the pair to leave the Protectorate she willingly went with them to Kaeshana, where she remains to this day. Although her Force talents have been deliberately ignored by her, Tempest’s gifts have not gone unnoticed, and soon she might well decide to accept training in the use of the Force.

FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes
STRENGTHS:
- Tempest has great untapped potential in the Force. Currently it is untrained, but with the right teaching she could be a formidable weapon for whoever teaches her. Her talents involve telekinesis, and she is capable of using the Force to summon powerful lightning, though currently that too is untrained.
- Tempest is very capable of manipulating and using intrigue to get her way. Her time as a slave has left her with all manner of talents when it comes to using her body or her abilities to get her way.
- Tempest has a natural affinity for the more destructive elements of the Force, as her upbringing and life has been harsh. She can be cruel, calculating and callous because that is what helped her to survive. If taught correctly she could be a powerful warrior…if she can control her emotions.
- Tempest is unusually strong and quick, a mix of good genetic stock and long years of gruelling labour. When taught to use a weapon, she would excel with melee and ranged.
WEAKNESSES:
- Although above average (though no genius) in intelligence, Tempest came late to literacy and knowledge. Even now she is an uncertain reader and steers away from books where possible.
- As her name might suggest, Tempest is given to ungovernable rages and furies, whereby she loses all control. In this mood her Force powers manifest and she can be dangerous to herself and those around her.
- Tempest has a lot of pent-up anger and hate. She does not trust easily, or at all, and is suspicious of anyone. Her trauma at her abuse as a slave means she is a very angry girl.
- Tempest has had no formal training with any weapons, as befits a slave. Her actual use of them has been in a haphazard and desperate form. Thus, she will need training in how to fight.
