The Templar-class Light Freighter is amongst the first generation of modern starships produced by Arakyd Industries. Designed specifically for usage by members of the Templar Order, the engineers of Arakyd did their absolute best to meet the approval of their CEO: @[member="Phoebe Verd"]; who happens to be a notable member of the Templars. To begin, the entirety of the Templar-class' frame and hull plating is composed of a Duranium-Kathor composite. This combination of substances, made famous by Arakyd's own Helix-class Light Interceptor, boasts a durability high enough to withstand seventy-five Gs without alluvial dampening occurring. In addition, Duranium's durability alone allows for the hull of the vessel to be able to withstand glancing lightsaber blows with minimal effort. With safety and presenting the apex of what Arakyd is capable of in mind, the designers also incorporated a duo of countermeasures into the Templar-class. These consist of a coating of Nightshadow upon the entirety of the vessel's hull in addition to a chaff gun; both of Arakyd design.
In addition, the Templar-class Light Freighter boast a moderate armament that allows it to adequately defend itself whilst traversing the Galaxy. Of course, the vessel was not designed for military-level engagements and as such would not last particularly long on an actual field of battle. Despite this, the Templar-class was designed to be as durable as possible in the event of a shield droppage; and even contains escape pods in the event of a worst-case scenario.
On another note, the Templar-class Light Freighter shines in the area of modern amenities and has two loadouts available for its owners. The standard loadout permits for fifteen passengers to be comfortably accommodated with adequate space for sitting and sleeping. However, its luxury loadout is the "preferred standard". All available space within the vessel, save for the cargo hold, is committed in the form of five diplomacy-grade dormitories. Each is of the same quality expected of a vessel that hosts foreign officials, monarchs, and other persons of immense importance within the Galaxy. Specifically, each dormitory is complete with a twin-sized, plush bed (save for the Captain's Quarters whose bed is a queen-size), basic furniture, a full washroom, and a plethora of other accommodations that makes flying within the Templar-class a pleasurable experience (such as miniature refrigerators stocked with Corellian whiskey). Not only is luxury on the inside a priority, but so is luxury on the outside; thereby leading to the vessel's moniker being: "one of the smoothest rides in the Galaxy."
