Crafted by Mato Kejak after his ascension to the rank of Jedi Master to replace an earlier blade he had lost, this Force-imbued blade has never left his side since it was finished; indeed, even when he sleeps or meditates, he keeps the blade close at hand, ready to spring to battle at a moment's notice. However, this is partially due also to the benefits it was imbued with during its creation; rather than being a simple Force-imbued weapon, Mato chose to utilize a specific type of crystal during the process of forging the blade to enable it to double as a Force focus, keeping his mind clear of distractions when in battle. As well, the blade took on a life of its own through its bond with its wielder, and whenever drawn emits an ever-present aura of the Battlemind power for the wielder, be it Mato or someone else, constantly urging them towards its use, and pulling them to the battlefield. It is for that reason that Mato keeps the blade close at hand, to ensure that the weapon cannot be utilized for ill; it is also why he named the blade Temptation, despite clearly being a tool of and created through the Light Side, because of the blade's constant urging to draw and use it no matter the situation.
