Teras Kasi Training

It's come to my attention that a few Dreadguard are interested in learning this martial art, one such that revolves around anticipating strikes and develop extreme speed and aptitude in a combative environment.

However, I'd like to extend this as an invitation to the rest of the Galactic Alliance as a whole. If you're a mess hall cook, a pilot, a politician, Jedi, or whatever, you're free to come join and learn an unarmed combat discipline. (Disclaimer: Dreadguard are not highly fond of Force users, so any Jedi attending should be on the lookout for high tension.)

I'm looking to start this thread either later tonight or tomorrow.

So far, my impromptu schedule for the training will be this:
  1. Introduction into Teras Kasi (General description, some history, and primary uses.)
  2. Fundamentals (Beginner strikes, kicks, jabs, etc.)
  3. Practice Spar (Every student will be assigned a TA4 opponent. Do not be afraid to deal damage, they are self-healing.)
  4. Real Spar (Students will square up against each other to hone their skills.)
Please note that this training session will not grant your character a great proficiency in Teras Kasi. This art is very much like lightsaber forms for the Jedi, and require a great deal of time, effort, and practice to gain mastery over. However, your character will begin to develop a knack for anticipating strikes in combat, possess an understanding of Teras Kasi fundamentals, and hopefully become long-time practitioners of this art.

Let me know below if you're interested in attending!

Thanks,
Marcus

You're free to join whenever. I don't foresee this thread starting and ending in just the span of three days, so hop in whenever you get the chance. And if there's high enough interest in this, I'll be more than happy to do another training session at a later date.

This thread will be up sometime tonight. Since Thanksgiving is around the corner, don't fret about making tons and tons of posts. This thread will have a pretty easy, yet steady tempo to keep things moving forward.

If you are interested and haven't said so in this thread, you're still free to come in late whenever possible.
