Here is the Map Valiens Nantaris posted:

There is no defined movement, but keep it within reason. (Infantry will be faster than Tanks through jungle/dense terrain, Vehicles will be faster over open ground, etc)
Infantry, Mechanized Infantry, Anti-Air, and Light Armor have a range 5
Heavy Armor has a range of 10
Only Artillery has the range and trajectory to fire at targets it cannot see. It has unlimited range, so pound away, but poor accuracy against targets it can't see

Here is the Updated Map showing current known troops on the board.

This is a war zone, and no matter how awesome you are, this is about the thousands of warriors doing battle.

When giving orders use the following template, listing every unit under your command.
Faction: Republic
Team: 2

Unit 1, Unit Type, Strength, Hex Location, Orders
Unit 2, Unit Type, Strength, Hex Location, Orders
etc.

If you are late to the party, come up with a Force Organization and send it to [member="Valiens Nantaris"] before leaping in.

Below please post questions, suggestions, plans, intentions, and strategies throughout the campaign. Remember to Follow this thread so that you can stay up to date with what the rest of us are planning. Communication and proper planning is key here, so keep in touch with us (And your opponent).

When in doubt remember the Six P's of any combat action; Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance

Finally Tag anyone you know is doing this campaign into this thread please.

EDIT: Map Updated 05:01 EST 5/8

With all three objectives very close to one another I believe we should remain close enough that we can support each other if necessary. There are no doubt NPC enemies in the jungle, and probably a whole lot of them.

I will try to keep the map updated on this page as best I can with our movements and known Enemy locations.

From what I can tell based on what people where tagged we have at the very least 12 Allies to speak of at this moment compared to our enemies currently at 6. We need to press this advantage while we can, using armor to support troops at long range.

Furthermore, we know that each post creates an additional NPC unit. (EACH POST) So the factory is going to be key here.

Personally our plans seem to have changed. I had thought that the buildings would be significantly more spread out. What I suggest given the current situation is to spearhead our way to the facility, using multiple friendly units to destroy single enemy units.

If I form up in from using a stacked group (Mechanized Infantry, Infantry, Heavy Armor, Heavy Armor) and do this in a column I can clear a path for the other groups. Anyone using artillery should support the push forward. Conservation of troops is primary here, so we might switch out from my column to [member="Karrie"] 's depending on enemy resistance.

This details my suggested troop layout (For me)

I've been too fried with exams to come up with anything, but hopefully I can come up with something tomorrow. It seems we're currently very heavy on armor, so I'll probably go for a more balanced infantry and some air superiority to probe things out. Kiyron himself will probably be remaining back at a command location to coordinate. Otherwise I'd drop him ahead of the main column for reconnaissance purposes.

I'd also suggest using the Oversight droids as much as possible to cover as much ground as possible.

A heads up for everyone,

I work from 5 a - 1p CST.

I will be able to post in the evening. With the exception of tomorrow. I work 12p - 8 p, then have to be back at 5a the next morning.

I was planning on using my mechanized units as a quick reaction force and using my walkers to spearhead my push. I can easily take one of the flanks and use my force as a flanking force since it's a bit faster. It's not heavily armed or armored but the addition of force on the flank can cause a crossfire. Chews up troops some good.

Sounds good. Right now the campaign is getting off to a slow start and only the Red Ravens have contacted me about cooperating and organizing. Keep an eye on them though.

[member="Karrie"] that is absolutely fine. RL comes first yo

Cool. Cool, cool, cool. Lets strike while the Iron is hot and get some more troops on the board. I am liking your idea of covering one of my flanks.

[member="Karrie"] can follow up behind me.

[member="Jericho"] may be playing an armored spearhead for this as well, so him coming up on the far side of [member="Orick T'ane"] sounds like a good plan.

That will allow Jericho to cover you and catch enemies in between the two of you in a cross fire and burn them down quickly.

Finally when @Kiyrion and [member="Ali Hadrix"] do arrive there should be a clear shot to the facility for them to reinforce us as we try to take it. It appears as though there are at least 330 Points of NPC's on the ground as we speak so lets get the factory out of commission and then work on the shields.

Someone with artillery should start targeting the area around the main facility.

The ravens are as follows:
- 8 Units of War Dogs (Infantry Company)
- 1 Unit of War Bugs/Sappers (Infantry Company)
- 1 Unit of Super Clankers (Infantry Company)
- 2 Units of UWD (Heavy Armor/Walker Company)
- 2 Units of AP-ATW (Heavy Armor/Walker Company)
- 2 Units of Crushers (Heavy Armor/Walker Company)
- 2 Units of Mobile Artillery Cannons (Artillery Battery)

In post WWI tactics armor often forms the tip of the spear of assaults followed in by Infantry, but even then Infantry is important. I would like to have some added infantry/artillery support in one of the groups yet to be established if at all possible. With 24 known Heavy Armor units so far I think we should be alright there. What we lack from what I have seen is Air Support, Artillery, Infantry, and Anti-Air. Those areas need to be filled if we can.

For Anti-Air I was actually thinking we storm the main facility and destroy the Factory, but protect the Shield Generator for as long as we need to. That will eliminate any Sith Allied Air Support for quite a while, especially since they seem to be holding back and trying to bolster the NPC force. We need to start working quickly though and get our forces on the board and moving into attack positions.

Artillery that does come into play has unlimited range and should start firing in the space between the main facility and our forces. Hopefully the NPC's will become active today and starting fighting us.

[member="Draco Vereen"]

I added a couple of artillery batteries for support, although more won't hurt. Artillery is called the 'King of Battle' for a reason. Infantry is always important regardless, they support the armor by sniffing out traps and anti-tank teams. They also sit on the objective after it's taken. A lot of what will determine this outcome is how well we plan and deploy our forces. If we can take the initiative and force the Sith to react to us, then we can dictate the flow of the battle. If we are forced to react to them we will be playing catch up the entire time.

Well right now its even ground and we need to pull ahead. Unless reacted too, I am going to try and limit myself to once a day until the fighting starts. They have no forces on the field yet and we have the better part of two, that said, they only posted in order to bolster NPC forces. Right now we are dealing with 340 Points of NPC's and we haven't engaged any. Looks like the Sith want to ignore the NPC's and make us fight them, then fight unhampered Sith Forces. A bold strategy, but it looks like we out number them right now so we need to act before they can bolster the NPC's too much. I know the NPC GM hasn't posted anything, so don't go too crazy, but getting on the field and getting set shouldn't be too bad.

Like I said, later tonight I am moving up unless acted upon sooner.

It seems to me that as the first ones on the field we ought to split our attentions at least a bit between the arriving Sith and the factory forces. Perhaps allocate a unit to function as a flank guard against Sith advancement, and ensure our approach and follow-through at the factory leads to an orientation of forces that keeps us focused on their inevitable arrival.

Orik: I plan on taking over for only a single vic. I'm a detailed writer, so I shouldn't have many problems. That being said, I'm going to want to engage the Sith, and early. Think maybe you could spare a track for me to wander about with a little? I can clover-leaf along the edge of the Sith forces and take out any stragglers or scouts.

I'll try and come in with the artillery, anti-air (not that I expect much air resistance), and some anti-Vong droids tonight.

Cool. we could really use to artillery support once this pops off. I am kind of worried about post again, as there hasn't been any word from the NPC's. I don't know if its because he's unable to post, or if he is simply waiting to post.

I haven't ever done an invasion. What would etiquette be for this?

Kiyron

This is completely different than any invasion, and until recently codified, it was just a rule of thumb to wait for people to respond first. So, I'd go ahead and wait for Valiens at least.

Here's my planned force:

4-Baldr artillery batteries (40 points)
6-infantry companies (60 points)
1-YVH-2 Company (30 points at max, may be less depending on classification)
2-bomber runs (20 points)
2- squadron of these if allowed (20) (If not allowed, points redirected to anti-air)
3-Claymore anti-tank companies (30)
2-Tempest anti-air companies (20)

I'll kit the infantry out more on in the PM to Valiens. My first plan is to begin construction of a fortified location to work out of to use as a command center and another target to draw OS forces away from the facility. Anyone know of any shield generators in the Marketplace for mass market purposes or want to run through my math to double-check it?

[member="Draco Vereen"] [member="Ali Hadrix"] [member="Gir Quee"] [member="Orick T'ane"]

I can tell you the Gunships aren't going to fly. Bomber Runs are the version of Air Support allowed right now. Other than that it looks solid as hell. I don't think Shield Generators are going to work Either but if you are blasting the crap out of them it should draw their attention.
