The Olympian Armorsmiths and their master were never picky or sentimental about choosing where to get their technology from. The best was simply the best and there was no argument about it. So the ideal was to offer each and every technology a possibility to influence the tidings of the Techwrights. Same was the case with the Chiss, despite their past crisis with the Empire and the lately closer working relationship between the Vandemarians and Empire, the former would not hold old grudges or refuse any opportunity.
The Maser weaponry of the Chiss was extremely desirable for the technocrats of Vandemar and they reverse engineered it, learned from it and built their own capital ship version - the Terminus. It is a modular design which, depending on the ships requirements, would be incorporated into the hull and receive extensive armoring as a proper emplacement instead of an exposed turret. The Megamasers are extremely lethal ship to ship weapons but prove highly effective against ground targets as well. Sadly less so against strike craft.
