Designed by the various minds within the Trade Federation, the TF03 Battle Droid; Cavalier Pattern was engineered to be the premiere heavy battle droid on the Galactic Market. Its external appearance was rendered as an homage to the ancient protocol droids that Cybot Galactica once made. Their visage, while utterly common in some circles, would invoke a feeling of familiarity - as most Humanoid Protocol Droids serve as nurse-droids, school teachers, or life-long companions. However, it was decided that this notion towards an artificial lifeform needed to be taken advantage of - especially on the battlefield, where one moment of hesitation could be the difference between life or death. So, what better way to induce such moments in enemy combatants than by preying upon their fond memories, mere moments before their organic lives were ruthlessly terminated.
While the exterior was fabricated around familiarity, the internal systems were an enigmatic blend of ancient, near-forgotten technologies and various modern advances. Thanks in part to the Republic Engineering Corporation’s maintained archives, the Cavalier finds itself enhanced with beyond the scope of traditional battle droids. In a sense, every unit of Cavalier’s that roll off the production line is a synthetically-generated consciousness that’s capable of mimicking the fully autonomous nature of organic life, albeit twisted in the most savage and warlike way possible. Although limitations exist within their programming, it’s not uncommon for an older model of Cavalier to evolve beyond their pre-set commands and algorithms to become something new entirely.
With a myriad of integrated systems, defensive measures, and weaponized palms - the Cavalier would prove to be a potent addition to anyone’s Military outfit…
Provided they had the credits to pay for it.
