Developed by the various minds within the Trade Federation, the TF02 Droid Tank; Stormsurge Pattern was designed to operate as a mobile weapons platform, that’s also capable of chewing through static fortifications. Equipped with an impressive array of weapons, the Stormsurge was an armoured vehicle that was capable of engaging formations of infantry, and/or mechanized columns - with variable measures of success. While the entirety of the Stormsurge’s armament was fixed forward, the differential steering would allow for the Droid Tank to rapidly reorientate it’s forward firing-arc to acquire or track enemy targets. From there, the primary drawing feature to the Stormsurge’s design was the central continuous track that was outfitted with multiple semi-curved and highly-durable Grousers - that were able to chew through fortifications, and terrain as the vehicle advanced. Naturally, such capabilities were entirely dependent on the material composition of the emplacements, and fortifications that the Stormsurge sought to grind beneath it’s metallic tracks. In addition, such a method of propulsion was also highly effective against massed formations of Infantry - be they either synthetic or organic soldiers. However, if utilized in such a manner - there may be the possibility of damage to the continuous tracks as the mulched fortifications, mechanical limbs, or gore may damage the interior housings - which in turn may blow out the track(s.) But, as the Droid Tank was wholly automated and self-aware, there was a possibility that such eventualities may come to pass - as most artificial intelligences built for war may become debased sadists who’d forsake their orders in order to destroy their opposition. Proverbial leashes may be required in order to keep the Stormsurge Tank in line.
