Private Thawing the Past

Travelling to Hoth was not a journey that Ilwynog appreciated, they were not a fan of cold desert worlds. They would rather be back on Kashyyyk or Concord, hell Ilwynog would take Corellia even the worst areas of Corellia than be stuck on Hoth. However, here they were, on Hoth and looking around for a frozen body. They were scanning around for life, but finding life out in the snow desert of Hoth was difficult at best of times. Their armour was not suited for the cold weather and the hooded cloak did not keep the bite of cold winter away. Ilwynog sighed, they weren't sure why they even decided to come here in the first place, it was not exactly their job hunting down lost souls trapped in snow. Their job was to spy and be all stealthy, so being here felt a little pointless but they were going to do the job even if they grumbled about it in their own mind.

Feet sinking into the snow as they stepped forward, something was starting to ping on the scanner, Ilwynog tilted their head. Apparently there was something trapped in the ice, and potentially still alive. This seemed very impractical, like almost impossible in their mind, to survive the ice for all these years. Shaking their head, Ilwynog was dumbfounded by this discovered, they moved to the location and started excavating the location. Using the Force to move the snow and make space for them to dig into the ice. It took time and effort, but Ilwynog was able to chip away at the ice to the body. Not wanting to use their Lightsaber to dig in case they damaged the person frozen. Once they pulled the body out of the ice and onto the surface they looked at them. "How the hell does one wake someone who has been a popsicle for years?" Ilwynog muttered to themselves, with no answer coming to them bar to build a fire to keep them both warm.

Maybe the person frozen will provide them with answers. Maybe Hoth is just a cruel world.

"Who are you?" asked Jake, awakening due to the heat thawing him out. He wasn't sure who the individual was. Was the individual a threat he had to vanquish with the Force? Was he a fellow Silver Jedi? What manner of individual was the person that had put him in front of a fire? He needed information on the person before he could make up his mind on him. He reached out with the Force attempting to sense the intentions of the individual. Unfortunately he was rusty and so was unable to manage to do so because of thousands of years of being in cryostasis. He needed more practice with the Force in order to build his power up and recover the abilities he had at first so he could utilize them properly.

Ilwynog Cysgod Ilwynog Cysgod

Looking over to the man as he thawed out, Ilwynog nodded their head to them. Seems that they were fine, the ice didn't seem to affect them too much. Curious that there seemed to be no ill affects to the freezing, but perhaps it was something that they had done to themselves? First, Ilwynog leaned back and tilted their head up to the sky. "I am Ilwynog Cysgod, I am with the Silver Jedi Order. Or Silver Jedi Concord as it is now." Ilwynog's voice was robotic and genderless as they looked over to the guy. "So, how did you end up frozen in ice?" Ilwynog asked, curious to what happened and how they survived. From what Ilwynog could guess, they seemed friendly, or not looking to attack Ilwynog at the moment.

"Silver Jedi?" asked Jake, as he looked at the individual for a moment. "I don't honestly remember how I got trapped in the ice." This wasn't actually true because he simply didn't believe the individual needed the information on why he had been frozen in ice. "So, Ilwynog. What year is it this, and where am I?" asked Jake, as he looked at the individual. He was making a lot of mental decisions.

Jake noticed he wasn't exactly.... well, his clothes were old. "Do you have a spare outfit?"

Nodding their head, they grabbed some basic clothing and a winter jacket. They could tell that there was something being held back by the defrosted man, but it wasn't their place to pry, if he wanted to open up then he could but Ilwynog was not going to push for them to be truthful with them. Leaning back, the question about the year and where they were was curious. Time could be understandable, but location, how did he not know where he was frozen? "Yes, the Silver Jedi are currently the largest Jedi faction and the ones fighting the Sith the hardest at the moment. The year is roughly between 858 ABY and 859 ABY, I believe. I have been terrible in keeping track of the years."

Handing over the clothes, they nodded their head. "So, we are on Hoth. Surprised you don't know where you are since you were frozen here." The statement was slightly pointed and showing their curiosity. "From here, where you go is your choice. I would recommend that if you are interested in exploring the Force and being a Jedi to head to Commenor. The Silver Jedi will help you and you can do good there against the Sith if that is up your ally."

Jake thought it over. It would do him good to learn about the "Jedi" of this day and age, and see if his creations were still around. For that reason he would go along with the person's wishes. "I see. " He said, as he looked at the person for a moment. Jake walked a good distance away from the person until he was out of sight. When he came back, he was clad in the new clothing. Jake had checked the pockets of the outfit he had on him, to see what was in the ones he was previously wearing. He sighed, as he pulled out a valuable crystal, well two of them. He also pulled out five gold coins. "I'll need a way to convert this to the modern currency so that I can use it to obtain a place for myself, wherever I decide to go that is."

"So Ilwynog, where can I find myself a decent sword to replace the one I recall was lost before I was frozen?"
He asked, as he looked at the individual. "Before I do anything, I've got to see if a few old locations I made are still around. If so, I'll have to retrieve a few items I created and put them in my possession or somewhere safe."

Looking at the gold coins, Ilwynog was confused, for as long as they knew of the galactic history, they had been using credits. So gold coins were hard to evaluate in terms of credits. At least since Ilwynog had no context on how much they weighed or the value of gold in credits. Shrugging, "I don't know how much you gold coins would be worth in credits, credits has been the currency in the galaxy for several thousand years as far as I could tell." They were then asked about a sword, which was a curious question since most Jedi used Lightsabers of some variant degree. "Sword? Well, the SJC has a few companies that design and modify weapons for them, I would recommend checking those out. Personally, I just make my own weapons with a work bench and some stuff I find on missions."

"Well that depends on how long you have been frozen, they could have degraded or just not as competent as current tech." Ilwynog shrugged since they knew a lot of tech from even 50 or so years ago was outdated and just not up to par. "However, my ship has a navicomputer and it can direct us to any planet that you need to get to. Or you can come with me to Commenor and get your own ship to travel to the locations if you wish them to remain a secret. But they could be pillaged and looted already, not many places in the galaxy that hasn't been explored." Ilwynog explained, trying to demonstrate that there needed to be some caution.

Jake then stood up to his full height, and used the Force to break a large chunk of ice off. "Your kindness in thawing me out of the ice deserves a kindness of my own, Ilwynog." Jake said, as the ice floated in the sky. "For your kindness I will create for you a sword of your own that will always be with you should you choose to use the sword for yourself. Unless of course, you would not prefer a blade for yourself. " Jake was not sure if the individual wanted a blade or not, but knew that he should repay the debt that he owed. "Before I create a sword for you, I will need a lock of your hair in order to connect the sword to you when I create it for you."

He paused, as he looked up at the sky. "The weapon will be my thank you for thawing me out of the ice, and the new clothes you've given me. The items I've made were made with the Force."

He then levitated a tree that was growing on Hoth that thrived in cold weather nearby. He started to shape the wood and ice into a blade, applying Alkahest and Jal Shey to the creation of the sword.

"Behold, Frostbite. The sword of Eternal Winter. It is my gift to you, Illwynog. "

Jake had made two of the sword. "What do you think of my creation?"

Ilwynog watched curiously as this stranger took a chunk of ice off with the Force and started working with it, forging it into a blade. It was curious work since Ilwynog had never seen someone use ice to make a weapon before. The stranger started to work and Ilwynog remained silent just watching him work as they leaned back in waiting. Perhaps the stranger decided it would be better for them to make a new sword of their own for now, still it would be interesting to see how different people make their weapons. Ilwynog tended to be more practical and less using the Force when they would build a weapon in comparison to the use of Force here.

Told they had to offer a lock of hair, Ilwynog tilted their head, they did not take their helmet off in front of anyone. Turning around and leaving their hood of their cloak on, they removed the hair and handed it over. Not confident in doing so since the hair contained DNA and even someone knowing their hair colour could narrow the search to finding out their real identity which they would rather not share when they were an undercover operative.

When he offered the blade to Ilwynog, they were taken aback, it was surprising to see such a generous offer. Ilwynog was use to dealing with criminals who would try skimming cash from you than offer you something like this. Taking the blade, they studied the design and gave it a few swings. The blade looked elegant enough and felt good. They weren't sure it was their style, since Ilwynog was generally more use to guns and their Lightsaber but they nodded as studied the blade. "It feels good, never used a sword before so not sure it fits my usual combat style but certainly interesting." Ilwynog stated.

"It is not my best work, but it will have to do as a substitute until I can forge you a blade, a proper one as payment." said Jake, as he looked at the individual. "It isn't as good as the ones I did in the past, but I do hope that the blade will serve your purposes and you well on your journey, Ilwynog. In any case we should leave this planet behind so we can continue our travels. The blade can merely clash with a Lightsaber, and does not have special properties other than that. It, as a result is not good enough for you to wield long term. I will make you a better one to wield in the future, once I have found a place to truly work on such a blade, and gathered the materials."

Jake sighed. He really wished he could have done his best on it, but knew he wasn't good enough. His time in the ice had dulled his skills. The only cure for such a problem was simply learning how to do things again. Practice after all was one of the few ways one could grow stronger. He was going to practice but not on a world like this one. Really, he wanted to leave this planet behind and never return to it.

"The sword I will make for you in the future will be named Frost-Fang. But it will not be made until my skills are suitable to the level they were when I was not frozen in ice." He stated, as he looked at Ilwynog Cysgod Ilwynog Cysgod with a sad look on his face. It was pathetic that he was so powerless, and weak right now. His skills definitely needed work.

Jake explained that they weren't pleased with their work on the blade but Ilwynog shrugged, they weren't bothered too much but it clearly affected Jake that he couldn't build the blade to a quality he wanted it to be at. Ilwynog nodded their head as they appreciate the gift that they had so it didn't matter that it wasn't as fancy as Jake had wanted it to be. It would still be a gift that Ilwynog would treasure, since they guessed that it was their first ever real gift really. "I thank you for the gift, it is very nice and I shall remember our encounter thanks to this blade." Ilwynog smiled behind their helmet then nodded their head.

It was definitely time to get off this world, they were starting to feel the cold and Ilwynog was not a fan of cold weather. Sheathing the blade to their belt, noting that they had to invest in a proper sheathe for the sword to protect it while they weren't using it as a weapon. Ilwynog then pointed in the direction of their ship. "Should be a day's walk at most this way. Maybe less depending how quick we walk. I recommend against running, use too much energy especially since it will only be getting colder." Ilwynog explained as they knew night would be coming soon, hoping to reach the ship before nightfall.
