GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Age of the Three Fathers
  • Reform Type: Institutional Reform
  • Reform Passage: Civil War
  • Description: Upon the successful reclamation of his father's throne, Thrand Dawnbringer and his rebellion ended the tyranny of his father's assassin, Beorlund the Usurper, by reinstating rightful lawgivers, ending the monopolies imposed by the crown, and rooting out any and all corruption within government.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Notable Figures Involved in the Reform:
  • Public Reception: Initially mixed reception, as factions on either side of the civil war had different agendas and differing opinions on how best to rule Midvinter. Thrand's character and ability to juggle egos eventually persuaded, coerced, or intimidated the opposition into embracing change, as the ringleaders and most fervent supporters of the Usurper were either imprisoned or executed.
EVENTS
  • Event Name: The Dawnbringer Rebellion

  • Participants:
  • Overview: Joining his father's rebellion for the final push on the capital of Tháinbroek, Thurion and his then-fiancée Coci participate in the climactic battle that would end the decades-long reign of corruption and greed and reclaim Thrand's throne. The Usurper's generals met them in the field but were ultimately routed through the use of clever tactics and bold action, forcing the gates of Tháinbroek open and allowing the victorious father-son duo to fight their way to the throne room were a clearly addled and diminished Beorlund cowered. His capture and subsequent execution brought the civil war to an end, and with Thrand's just and noble rule came the dawn of a new age to the people of Midvinter.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Midvinter had for millennia been at war with itself. The Valkyri were at the height of their arrogance, believing themselves the rightful rulers of the land with no regard or tolerance for their fellow sentient lifeforms; indeed, since knowledge was only spread by word of mouth and heroic tales around camp fires, any actual evidence of past encounters with elves or bear-folk had long been lost to the ages. Far from united, the belligerent Valkyri would pit clan against clan, warring over petty border disputes or to avenge some ancient grudge. The title of High King came with the unenviable task of creating some semblance of unity whilst juggling the wants and needs of a hundred warring factions, each more ambitious than the next.

If the First Father would go on to sow the seeds of national unity, then it was during the reign of Threign the Hammerhand that the fields were tilled, albeit by the sword rather than the plough. He put a stop to clan warfare by direct intervention, marching his armies wherever his royal decree was rejected. While his intentions were noble, his forceful tactics would inevitably unite several powerful factions against his rule, led in secret by the Threign's loyal advisor Beorlund. Witnessing all of this was the King's only child Thrand, who would become known as the Dawnbringer. Though he loved his father dearly, he did not agree with the way in which he'd sought to bring peace to the realm through military might. Voicing his concerns, Thrand was sent to bed by a wrathful Threign, who was famous for his short temper.

The next morning, Threign was no more, poisoned by Beorlund who assumed the throne, pointing to a document supposedly signed by the late king. Thrand was banished from the realm, and would not see home again for many decades, when he and his childhood friend Bors of the Greythorne Clan would spark an uprising to reclaim his father's throne and bring about the vision of peace set in motion so long ago.

Upon regaining the throne, Thrand the Bringer of Dawn began by showing a great deal of mercy and benevolence towards his defeated foes, only executing those who actively participated in the assassination of his father or otherwise proved themselves unrepentant in supporting the Usurper. A mass funeral was held for friend and foe alike, honouring the fallen on both sides and ending the civil war on a positive note of union. While Bors saw to the restoration of Tháinbroek and organised the demobilisation of their rebel army, Thrand would embark on a great tour of his vast realm, visiting every clan stronghold to hear their grievances and negotiate compromises where needed, determined not to repeat his father's mistake.

Corrupt officials were tried and either sacked or publically punished, replaced by men of integrity loyal not only to the crown, but to the community they served, establishing a meritocracy that persists to this day. No longer was noble blood an assurance of high office, allowing the common man to rise by appointment of their peers. Stability was brought to a realm devastated by mismanagement, greed, and abuse of power.

Alas, the High King would not live to see the fruits of labours, as he would fall in battle defending his capital from the returned Vinterbound — undead abominations puppeteered by a magical relic of unknown origin. Though the siege was broken and the battle won, Thrand would pass away from his wounds in the comfort of his loved ones. It would fall to his sons to finish what he started as the earthly remains of the First Father of Midvinter was laid to rest, yet his spirit endures to this day.

Thurion Heavenshield Thurion Heavenshield I understand the image has an "unknown source" but there still needs to be a link of where you found it, also this will help us find the source if there is while it could be hard.

Because with a basic search its coming up as flagging pathfinder art and such, I would like to find the source if possible because through a handful of AI art detectors its showing human generated.
