The Lion King
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
The Great War, as it became known, was over. Dwarfing all armed conflicts that had come before it, a vast funeral was held in the immediate aftermath of the battle. Thurion Heavenshield presided over the mournful ceremony whilst his nephew Thrand accepted the burden to light his father's pyre, sending Thyrian the Uniter, redeemed in the eyes of the Force, to the realm beyond where peace is eternal. Together, the two brothers had brought peace and prosperity to their people, following the example of their blessed father.
But the elder had parted too soon, leaving the younger to shoulder it all by himself. Thurion never felt more lonely, even as his wife and children rallied around him. The moment he was crowned king all hopes for a peaceful retirement were dashed as he knew his every remaining breath had to be in service to his people; dreams were replaced with duty. To give anything less would be to dishonour those that had come before.
As the crown was placed upon his weary head, the Lion King's first decree was to bestow the central province known as the Crownlands unto the Beorni, for they had long suffered in their enforced exile and had no land to call their own. The Heartlands, as the region was to be renamed, have since allowed them to prosper anew, bringing their ancient knowledge and wisdom back to the lands of Midvinter. The foundations of Tháinbroek were rebuilt into Beornstead — a vast temple-city dedicated to worship and learning.
The reclusive Aelvar were granted free reign of travel, and have since established embassies in most cities as well as several enclaves within the deepest forests that they might better reinforce their allies as well as fraternise with their neighbors.
In order for the ancient knowledge and history of the world of Midvinter to never be forgotten, the College of Enlightenment is constructed with the sole task to hoard information both past and current; the detailing of clan lineages, the line of High Kings dating back millennia, the origins of each sentient race, their greatest triumphs and their worst actions, and many more. Too long has Midvinter relied on the oral traditions of their ancestors, where events and characters from history are altered in the telling.
Years later, Thurion struck an alliance with the hitherto unknown fourth member of what is now referred to the Four Kindreds, as the Duergar of the Under-Realm sought first contact with the Above to enlist their aid against a terrible foe lurking in the depths of Midvinter threatening to spill out to the surface. Time will tell what impact their mass-producing factories and gunpowder technology will have on his realm, but regardless he will not refuse another valuable ally.
These are but some of the Third Father's accomplishments, yet the greatest impact of Thurion Heavenshield stems from his character. Having stood by his people since the days of the Rebellion and every conflict to follow, his deeds and fame is known to all, and many a young men would seek to emulate their champion's behaviour. In but a few decades, his influence has turned a savage culture where might made right into one of chivalry and honour; the would-be belligerent warlord transformed into a noble knight.
Yet, the Lion King can never take credit for this new golden age, for he will claim the credit lies with his father and brother even as his mere presence inspires ever greater progress. In their name does he forsake personal desire and happiness, that he might give his all to the betterment of others. Such is the truest duty of a Jedi and King, and the only path he knows that might justify the pairing.
And when his time is come and he may finally rest, Thurion of House Heavenshield, the Golden Lion King of Midvinter, will surely become forever immortalised as the greatest of all Midvinter's sons. His father Thrand was the Dawn; of his two sons, Thyrian was his eternal fire. Thurion is his everlasting light.

- Overview: Tháinbroek, the ancient capital of the Valkyri, had fallen. High King Thyrian sent his family to safety with his brother while he stayed behind to defend his throne, fending off the demonic invaders single-handedly before being captured. Thurion Heavenshield summons his countrymen and their allies to war, leading to a cataclysmic battle where an entire world faces off against an endless horde of demonic entities. Defeating the enemy in the field, the battle is taken to the gates of Tháinbroek and eventually into the city itself, mimicking the events of the Dawnbringer Rebellion. Thurion duels the Crone-Queen Gríma Hagraven and slays her, yet is unable to save his brother. He is crowned king soon after.
