STRENGTHS
- Hawk-Bat Out Of Hell. The sublight drive was intended for a larger ship, providing more power output than is necessary, which gives this ship an obscene top speed for its size/class. The Corex hyperdrive is also rated at 0.52 past lightspeed.
- Advanced Sensors. This ship is designed for prospecting. Asteroid fields, planetoids, derelicts; it meant to be able to find and assess the value in each of them.
- But I Just Fixed That. The level of questionable engineering involved in this chop job would make a Corellian shake his head.
- Hungry, Hungry Hyperdrives. The Corex hyperdrive draws a lot of energy, particularly when transitioning to/from hyperspace. Brown outs and burn outs may occur.
- Rocky Ride. The Corex hyperdrive is known to interfere with ship's systems; lights, refreshers, artificial gravity.
You will never find a more hideous hunk of junk.
After servicing Amalia teral at Squib Reclamation on Denon, the idea of the Squib going into space was planted in the furball's head. But, while Ree might not have the money to buy a starship, one thing he is not lacking in is parts. Rummaging through his scrap yard yielded bits and pieces that became Project: Falcon.
Not a starship designer by any stretch of the imagination, the initial outing for just a flying toaster. The atmospheric flight profile was less than desirable. Considerably less than desirable, actually, as the ship went straight from take-off to landing. And by landing, I mean crashing. The S-foil deployable wings were added to try and counter that, and were taken from an old Lambda-class shuttle that was just rusting away in the landfill. The sublight engines were refurbished from off an old Gozanti-class light cruiser, while the navicomputer was one that someone had pawned a year or so before. The hyperdrive was purchased second-hand, while the sensors were more quietly acquired through the Squib's business associates. Mostly, those were sourced from decomissioned starfighters or science vessels. More powerful than typically on a civilian ship, particularly of this size, but perfect for the prospector looking for money to be made off an asteroid or derelict.
As a custom assembly, the ship is a bit of a passion project and hobby to occupy the Squib's time. It's never really complete and there's always something to repair, particularly since the Corex hyperdrive seems to sabotage the ship's onboard systems.
