The Apprentice

Bastion- the center of the Sith Acendancy, and the home to Doctor Bramhalls workshop.

Bramhall himself stood inside the lab, sipping his tea whilst drawing out the plans for the next step in his project. He was expecting that sometime soon somebody would see his advertisements or the sign on his door and become his technological apprentice.

For that, he was excited. He was now skilled enough to teach his technological knowledge to youth, and was excited to have more projects to take under the wing of Bramhall labs.

Sadal went through corridors. It was his first time here, but he was sure where he was supposed to go. In fact he came here because there was a good scientist who wanted to find a student and Sad just couldn’t miss this opportunity. As far as miraluka knew-his future teacher was a force user, so he went to the place where the force was stronger. Maybe there were other marks, but reading them is too hard when you don’t have eyes.

His senses weren’t lying. Young mechanic opened the door and entered the lab. Miraluka sensed a strong connection the force from the man who was there, and he also sensed that there were a lot of different kinds of machinery around. Sad was sure that it was the right place. Sadal bowed a little towards doctor Bramhall in a respectful manner.

“Greetings. I heard you wanted to find a student. My name is Sadal Vas and it would be an honor to learn from you”

Bramhall intently looks into his eyes curiously, smiling. He had felt a strong presence in the force - an unkindered force sensitive.

"I suppose you saw my advert? Or did you stumble across this place? Either way, I am happy to see you here. Would you like a 'cuppa?"
Bramhall spoke in an accent comparable to a British one. Perhaps this apprentice would be such in multiple ways.

“Yes, doctor, I would appreciate that”, answered Miraluka with a smile, looking back at the doctors face. He wasn’t exactly looking and it was more of a polite gesture, since there was none eye contact. After that Sadal added,” I heard you are a great specialist in a variety of fields and I’m looking forward to be your student, but I have one question. What are your terms? Is there any particular set of rules that your disciple must follow? Except being loyal and attentive of course.”

Doctor Bramhall laughs.
"Please, please, apprentice is enough. You're simply my pupil, not my follower. Loyalty, yes, I expect loyalty, yes. Also, please tell me what you are doing if you plan to use lab resources for a product, and if you use them the product will be considered manufactured by Bramhall labs with you credited as designer."

He boils the water, then walks back to Sadal.

"Tell me a bit about yourself please. What got you into engineering?"

Most of the people would feel awkward in this situation, but Miraluka just chuckled alongside his new teacher.

“What got me into it? It’s pretty simple, actually”, Sadal adjusted the bandage on his face,” Just like the rest of my kind I do not see thinks like you do. We see with the help of the Force. As you know-the Force flows through anything. When your eyes show you just the surface of things in front of you, I can see every object around me as a whole. Every little bit of it, every electric charge running through the circuits. I was fascinated by that since I was a child. Then I studied at the Curscants Academy, where I got most of my knowledge. And what got you interested in technology, doctor?”

Bramhall returns to the kettle and adds a tea bag to the now poured out water. He carries it back on a tray.

"I suppose I should say a little bit about myself. I was born in a Sith controlled territory, so when I was found to be force sensitive I was taken to the Sith academies. There I found my true passion - lightsaber combat. Or so I thought this was my true passion. At the time I wished to master lightsaber combat and become the ultimate warrior. However, I studied technology and alchemy on the side to try and further my goals and create stronger weapons."

Bramhall thinks a bit and decides to leave out a bit for times sake and not to sound like a supervillain monolog.

"One day, I was part of an invasion. I was attacked by a group of Jedi and an arm, a leg and an eye of mine were lost. I used my technology to replace - even improve - those body parts, but my combat skill was lost. I turned my aims to a new goal - If I was unable to be the ultimate humanoid, I would create it."

Bramhall laughs in the old man reminiscing way. He found his plan slightly ludicrous when he said it out-loud.

"I hope I haven't scared you off."

He chuckles, once again.

“So, you are going to make me ultimate humanoid?”, asked Sadal in a joking manner and pointed a thumb at himself.

“And no, I’m not afraid in a slightest, don’t worry. I think your war experience and sith training gave you more knowledge than I could ever get anywhere else. Besides, many different things, such as lightsabers and holocrones were made by your Order. With siths famous desire for power you always find different ways to improve and its impressive, to say the least. Some think you are murderers, but some of you are creators, artists who want only to improve. Don’t you agree?”

Bramhall smiles
"You seem to understand better than most. You're going to make a good student."

He pauses for a seconds.

"The Sith Acendancy, the order of Sith I belong to, wish for order in the galaxy. They follow Sith ideals and culture, but are more civil. I think you would like them and if you ever need your powers trained I suggest you go to them, or, indeed, me."

“If I need my powers trained? You offering me to became a sith?” Sadal looked pretty surprised while asking this. Miraluka made a little pause and took a cup of tea and blew on the still hot drink. After that young man drank a little and continued.

“Path of the Force user wasn’t exactly what I expected to learn, when I came here, but I can’t say I’m against this idea. I don’t think I will be good warrior, but an opportunity to utilize the Force in all its glory as a tool sounds too good to say no”, after that Sadal smirked and added ,”I guess you have even more things to teach me than I expected. When are we going to start my lessons?”
