- Moving Home: The Ark is large and well equipped enough to be a permanent home for large crowds, even in the long term. The space station can produce food and objects, it can also produce droids. And the people who live and work here are also able to repair ships in the hangars.
- Endless Energy: Thanks to the HAPU generators that power the Ark, the space station almost never runs out of energy.
- Engines: HAPU generators allow the Ark to have a very fast hyperdrive. For this very reason, the best HPI hyperdrive is used, and the Path Engine, which is common in Maw and Dark Empire, can also be found on the space station.

The idea of the Ark was first mooted towards the end of the Second Great Hyperspace War, when the Galactic Alliance came too close to the planet Mar'zambul, the original home of the Scar Hounds Tribe. The goal was to build a "temporary home" to a significant part of the Tribe, the droids, resources and warbeasts, for a long period of time until the Tribe could find a new and final home. Since the Tribe basically works from looted or collected technology, the Ark seemed for a very long time to be an unrealistic dream.
However, around the end days of the Maw, there were two major battles in the Unknown Region, both resulting in the destruction of planets and many ships. Such events and all other space battles were, and still are goldmines for the Tribe. So the Scar Hounds Tribe set out to salvage the ships from the ruins of Panatha and Exegol. Needless to say, the job took a long time, but the Tribe was lucky. The Galactic Alliance was not much closer to Mar'zambul, so they could build and plan in peace..
As the years and decades went by, and the raw materials were almost inexhaustible, the Ark grew bigger and bigger. At times, of course, the tribe ran into difficulties, as the various ships were made of different raw materials and building blocks, so the Ark's surface was as battered as most Scar Hounds technology. But that didn't bother the tribe at all. Building required returning to the ruins again and again, attacking other ships and then salvaging them so that the Ark could continue to be built..
In the meantime, around ABY 900, Darth Solipsis also returned and recalled those loyal to him, which led to the creation of the Mawite Khanate. Because of this, the largely complete Ark had to be slightly rebuilt to accommodate the Knights of Ren led by Detritus Ren , the Mawdalorians led by Khamul Kryze , and the church led by Y'sanne Stradd . So the Ark, originally intended only for the Scar Hounds Tribe, was expanded to house the entire Mawite Khanate. Fortunately, in the nearly three decades since, the space station has grown to a massive size.
Despite its massive size, the Ark has no offensive weapons, only defensive ones, although it could probably take down a lot of things with its momentum if it were to run across a battlefield. The Ark is, after all, perfectly suited to the purpose, so that a significant portion of the Khanate can leave the Unknown Region for good if they wish and move to the Dark Empire, or even live on the space station in the future, as the ship can grow food inside and even has plenty of room for factories, etc. In short, the Ark is completely self-sufficient.
The Ark was finally completed after the Dark Empire had declared Carlac as their capital planet. Now all that was left was for the Khan to present the space station to the Khanate and the entire Dark Empire.
