  • Not much is known about the Rang Rada'yr or Ash Reader in Basic. There are but a few facts that are confirmed. They have a humanoid form, a female voice and wear a set of Beskar'gam that seems to hearken back to an almost ancient period. The Ash Reader is a Force sensitive and carries with her a distinctive aura. One that gives her a lot weight in the air as her words guide themselves to the ears of those around her. Other than that though No one knows a thing about who the Ash Reader really is. Her species, her face, her age and countless more details are but unknowns to everyone leading many to speculate on all the unknowns and debate them over and over again. No one even knows quite when the Ash Reader appeared... though many won't forget her.

The Ash Reader garnered a reputation for being able to see into the past. A process called ash reading by the Mandalorian though many Force sensitives may know it by the term Psychometry. The Ash Reader found herself gifted with the power to read into any artifact or piece of Beskar'gam she had gotten a hold of and could see into it's past, see the emotions of it's wearers over the generations and recall them, allowing Mandalorians that saw her to catch a deeper glimpse into their past ancestors and better carry on their tale. She would often write down and record these stories so that future Mandalorians could still hold onto their people's history and in doing so the Ash Reader garnered a high honor and sacred position within cells she had harbored herself into. Her mysterious air now becoming a necessary protection for her.

Though as time went on and with more and more collective knowledge gathered and many lifetimes of history looked at, the Ash Reader underwent a spiritual journey. Deepening their connection to the Force and developing her powers to include things such healing, battle meditation, Force body and valor and other powers to greatly strengthen their resolve. During this the Ash Reader has said that she more intimately connected to what she claims is Manda or the Mandalorian soul. Connecting to it gave her a new found enlightenment and wisdom. Humbled by it, she gave up her name, and identity so that she could better read and serve as a vessel for this Manda.

She picked up a more spiritual role to Mandalorians as she helped offer them wisdom, guidance and teaching so that they could better find their path in life. Drawn to fledgling Mandalorian union as they tried to reestablish their hold over Mandalore she comes to them as seer, hoping to guide the next generation and ensure that the Mandalorian heart still beats.

    • Reader of the Ashes: The Ash Reader is known for her immense grasp over Psychometry or Ash Reading as she calls it. She is able to connect old memories and emotions imprinted in items with frightening detail.
    • Vessel of Wisdom: The Ash Reader has seen many things and has learned a vast amount of knowledge. Doing so she has become quite the repository of tales. However, the most important thing she has gotten from it is a deep understanding of people and a desire to help mend their spirits and advise them. The Ash Reader is always willing to lend a ear and try to guide to a better understanding of themselves.
    • Battlefield Sage: The Ash Reader's power in the force is immense and she uses to focus on aiding all of her vode in battle. Capable of using healing to treat the wounded, empowering abilities to boost her own combat abilities and Battle meditation to enhance each Mandalorian, her presence can uplift a soldier's spirit to victory.

    • Primitivist at heart: While the nature of the modern day galaxy has forced her to tolerate advanced technology she herself will avoid using it whenever she can. Wary of what it can do and believing that it's over reliance may weaken somone's resolve overall if they were to lose their crutch. As a result her Armor is devoid of Electronics, she carries scrolls of paper over datapads. She doesn't get to enjoy many of the advantages of modern day life but it's a sacrifice she has no qualms with.
    • Just a Vessel: The Ash Reader doesn't live for herself. She's sacrificed every part of her identity as a person so she could embody her role and tap into the Manda. As a result she is forever distant in many ways. While beign capable of great intimacy for the sake of healing others spiritual wounds she is forever distant and unreachable.
