The Atrisian Commonwealth is a union of planets from the Expanded Universe of the (pre-TFA) novels, centered upon the world of Atrisia -- a world with a significant amount of development within Chaos' player-made lore and which has come to be known colloquially here as "Space Asia."
Like the yin and yang, Atrisia's history is a study in contrasts. It was a member world of the Old Republic, but committed itself to the New Order of the Galactic Empire. After the collapse of the Empire, it once again became a democratic world, overseen by a parliamentary government. Many centuries later, a man named [member="Akio Kahoshi"] rose to power as a new Atrisian emperor and led the formation of an Atrisian Galactic Empire that spanned from the Core Worlds to the Unknown Regions and warred with the Chiss Ascendancy, Galactic Republic, and Omega Protectorate.
Following political decline, Atrisia became a member world under the banner of the Lords of the Fringe. It was conquered by the One Sith, who installed [member="Mythos"] as resident Sith Lord and Imperial governor of the planet. When the Galactic Alliance invaded in the late 840s ABY, massive Force Storms caused devastation across the planet and resulted in the destruction of the historic capital city of Jar'Kai.
As a member of the Galactic Alliance, the parliamentary style of government was restored. Today, planetary governance restored thanks to aid from Firemane, the Metal Lords, and the planet Alderaan, Atrisia borrows from both its Imperial and its Republic past to form a constitutional monarchy.
Located in the Core Worlds region, on the Giju Run hyperlane, Atrisia lies on the border of First Order space. It's allies on Alderaan or in the Republic lie on the far side of the galaxy. The question of whether a free Atrisia will remain a democratic republic or rise up as a new Imperial planet remains to be decided.
This is the Atrisian Commonwealth. A world known for the martial prowess of it's Yovshin Swordsmen, who in modern nights became the fearsome Atrisia Royal Corps of the Galactic Empire's war machine. Theirs is not the tragedy of the Jedi or the Sith, but the Way of the Yovshin.
The history of Atrisia is one of contradictions strewn across a battlefield of stars, glory, and blood. The past is sacred. The present is uncertain.
What will you choose for its future?
So what's this faction about? What do you want this faction to be about? Here, all honor lies. Stories of modern day Yovshin swordsmen, ronin sworn to neither the Jedi nor the Sith. Stories of Jedi exploring ancient civilizations or of Sith seeking artifacts of dark power. Stories of a government trying to come together peacefully, with one side Imperialist and the other Republic-leaning. Stories of a company seeking new resources or labor markets. Stories of a planet trying to find its place in a new galactic narrative. The literary landscape is ripe for any kind of story you may desire to tell. The only limit is your imagination.
The faction is a place to share ideas and help each other with telling those stories. And can work so that we're composing a narrative for the planet that compliments one another's stories.
So, wait? Atrisia is a canon world?
I get that a lot. Yes, from the novels.
