Vasch was a beautiful world, rolling green hills, azure skies, jewel-blue rivers. Untouched by war, Vasch's vistas were not just a pleasing view, the planet had become a boon of agriculture that the galaxy had become dependent on. Grain was harvested, vegetables turned into oils of all kinds, feed was made for domesticated animals, and various agricultural products were made in the planet's sparse cities. However in one tranquil corner of the planet, the years of peace had been interrupted by a unknown catastrophe.
Large armored personnel carriers cut across the fields and down various roads and supply routes. Moving across the fields with all haste, they sent domesticated animals scattering and drew small crowds of locals who had come to see the all the commotion. In the distance large black clouds plumed up into the blue skies as soldiers dressed in black hazmat suits rushed to the scene carrying flamethrowers. CIS officers in black uniforms had set up barricades and various checkpoints only allowing in military vehicles and official personnel. Armed with blasters and equiped with gas masks they shot anyone who came into or tried to leave the Quarantine Zone.
"Attention all citizen of Vasch. This area is now under quarantine. Anyone attempting to leave the Quarantine Zone will be fired upon, anyone trying to enter the Quarantine Zone will be fired upon. No Civilian vessels of any kind are allowed in or out of the Quarantine Zone. Any vessel trying to breach into or out of the Quarantine Zone will be fired upon." The broadcast played itself over and over again on megaphones, the message was sent over local broadcasting channels as well. Everyone so often an onlooker at the edge of the quarantine zone would try and jump over or run past one of the check points, trying to find a lost family member or driven by some nonsensical motive. They would shot without warning.
The armored vehicles drew deeper into the quarantine zone heading towards a small town that had been ground zero for the 'incident'. Here the images grew increasingly alarming in nature. A repulsor truck filled with grains had been put to flames by a black hazmat suited CIS soldier with a flamethrower, the burnt corpse of man still in the driver's seat. In a nearby village black armored soldiers had dragged civilians out of their homes. Their hands had been zipped tied behind their backs, and their heads had been 'hooded', finally they were hoarded into an unmarked military vehicle. Dead bodies were pilled up in orange body bags on the side of the road.
"Planetary communications have officially been disrupted. Local news agencies are telling people planet-wide to stay in doors, local authorities are working with CIS officials to maintain a curfew. Off-world the holonet is getting a low level news story that Imperial Bureau of Intelligence has committed an act of terror aimed at disrupting the CIS food supply." A CIS officer spoke, addressing a cloaked individual riding inside one of the armored vehicles.
The black cloaked figure nodded in response. Although space was limited inside the armored personnel carrier, its passengers worked diligently, studying datapads and talking into various communicators. "Very good lieutenant. Ensure containment of the local population within the quarantine zone. Have the hazmat soldiers clear an area in the fields for a makeshift landing zone for nothing bigger than a corvette or two." He said as the vehicle ground to a halt. The back of the carrier opened, light spilled in from the outside world and everyone inside shielded their eyes momentarily. The black cloaked figure stood and marched out the back into view of 'ground zero' a small town surrounded by several field which now had been to put to flames. A smoldering view, some of the house were ablaze themselves, although the CIS soldiers had the situation under control. "I want a status report right away of the contamination." He said to the Lieutenant. Then he pointed to one of the agents inside the armored vehicle. "Your with me."
