Private The Ballad of the Robot and the Lizard

Filthy humans. Disgusting, self-centered, brother killing humans. Oh how I despised them. But I couldn't kill all of them, especially not in a place like Coruscant. This place was crawling with them. The streets, the skies, and even the sewers. They were like an evasive species with no natural predators. Except for five of them. And those five will soon know what the true meaning of fear is.

Taking a few dark alleyways and a couple of elevators, I finally arrived where I wanted to be: The Bounty Hub. If you were in trouble anywhere in the galaxy, your name would show up here. A plethora of people were gathered in this area. Humans, Trandoshans, Wookies, Aqualish, Mandos, and was that...was that an Ewok? Yes, that was indeed a Ewok Bounty Hunter. Fascinating. Walking through the semi-crowded area I searched. This was most likely the place my two surviving brothers would be, Fortune and Infinity. Many people stared at me. It is not often you see a new model of droid in this galaxy without it being a big announcement. Only ten of us were made, and only three survived. All thanks to those humans.

My brothers were nowhere to be seen. Spending a good hour there search, I had no positive results. A Trandoshan has been here for a while, mostly watching me. Turning it's direction I stared directly at them. It's tongue slithered in and out of his mouth in a slow motion. Why were they staring at me? I began to walk their direction, preparing to more-than-likely be attacked.

Coruscant. A land of questionable individuals on every level. As far as Rocho was concerned though, the highest senator and the lowest beggar were only different in current power. And who was more worthy of hunting. However he was not here for them...well not yet. His next target was yet to be decided, he was checking the Bounty Board on his trip. Might as well see if there's anyone worthwhile. Rocho treasured the hunt, so most of the time he avoided the weaker of the groups. Unless he was doing it more for experimental purposes, or just for some quick credits.

However, his search would be put on pause. He noticed a droid. He'd not seen that particular model before, not that it was peculiar. With as many droids as existed in this Galaxy you might as well have a job to keep up with them all. No the peculiarity was that the droid was in a Bounty Hub. Yes, he'd heard of droids doing bounty work. Most of the time however, like his own droid, they were there due to their owners using them for it.

There was always something different about droids. That made them more problematic for him. They were harder to hunt not due to their skill or power. But they were literally harder for him to hunt down, they lacked the same presence in the force that he could track organics with when nearby. As a result, there was no difference in presence between one droid and another.

And yet, sometimes, you could almost see the sentience among them. Rocho watched this one, carefully, waiting to see if he could spot anything else interesting. The droid noticed, and it approached him. Rocho towered over most organics that weren't wookie or trandoshan, standing at 6'10.6" he wasn't exactly a small figure. And he was pretty much constantly heavily armed. ps-1-particle-shotgun at his side, tempest strapped to his back, t-7-vibro-brace on his left arm, g-11-shield-gauntlet on his right, wearing Hekler'Kok LA-2 Light Armor. And in his hand something much less obvious, held almost like a strange cane hiding the actual danger behind the weapon, The Beast.

He bared his teeth at 5-WCH (Switchblade) 5-WCH (Switchblade) in a smile, "You got a worthy target?" he inquired simply. The question was a strange combination of friendly and threatening. On the one hand the greeting was almost just asking if he'd actually found one from the board, on the other he was prompting whether or not he was the target. Rocho was a hunter, been one all his life. No doubt he'd gotten bad people to dislike him, not that most were anymore in a position to go after him. However he was also with the Fel Empire for awhile, you never knew who might still be after someone in his position. He was always ready, and happy, to get into a fight

"None yet. I'm here looking for my two bro...associates."

The Trandoshan seemed very relaxed. He could detect no sign of fear inside of him. Switchblade lowered himself into the seat across from the Trandoshan, not asking if it was open. This was a bounty board area for crying out loud. No need to be polite. He figured there was no harm in telling him his purpose here. Besides, if there was, he could always kill him.

"I'm looking for two of my associates. They go by the names Fortune and Infinity. My guess is they would be here, also searching for me."

The Trandoshan sat there, motionless. Gazing upon him for a few seconds Switchbalde already calibrated and researched some of his scars. The Trandoshan was a decorated Hunter, that's for sure.

The droid corrected itself. Another peculiarity. Most droids didn't make grammatical errors, and when they did, they didn't usually correct them mid-sentence. What he had experienced in the past, was that some droids would mistake information authorization and have too correct. The issue was, there were numerous languages. The droid could have been using the wrong one, Rocho knew a few himself, which were bringing up some words that got in the way. 'Brother' definitely did come up though.

5-WCH sat down, which the Trandoshan pretty much ignored. He didn't exactly have a reason to care about manners. These were hunters, unless you were messing with someone or their stuff, did it really matter what they did?

He repeated himself, calling them 'Fortune' and 'Infinity.' Kind of reminded him of a group of sentient insects he'd worked with. Except their 'names' more resembled job titles or common actions. Of the two names given only Fortune sounded like that. He let out a hum of thought in response, so probably more droids if he had to guess. But could simply be co-workers. Even if they were, this was too interesting to pass up. "So you're bro-associates." he said repeating the mistake made earlier, "Do you need help finding them. I have some time on me. Won't remotely bother hiding that I'm trying to uncover what's going on. I'm a hunter, not a spy. You're an abnormal droid in a Bounty Board area, looking for your 'associates' who go by names more often used by rarer species or clones. I mean right now I can think up a reason for how both of those names could have come around."

He folded on hand on top of the other holding the 'cane', cocking his head, "Hopefully the answer is interesting. Coruscant is usually one of the more boring places."

Switchblade looked upon the Trandoshan as he spoke. He made a jerk-move of repeating my slip up. He wondered if his species has a sense of humor or not. Heck, he was only created a few years ago. He was still trying to figure out this galaxy. Just becuase he knew over six-million forms of communication doesn't mean he understood all of them. Stupid human programs.

Once the Trandoshan mentioned his brothers, he knew his cover was blown. Straightening up in his seat, Switchblade quickly processed the situation. Killing the man right now could be an option, but he wasn't showing any threat. Plus, he didn't know what weapons the man had. Leaving the building might work, but then he still knows. His mistake could cost him and his brothers' lives. After long thinking, he made a decision. He decided just to let the man know.

"They aren't just my associates. sigh, They are my brothers. Kinda a long story though. You want the long one or the short one?"

Somewhat reclining back into the seat, he waited for his answer. This could be a long day on Coruscant. Especially depending on this mans response.

Rocho watched. It was so hard to read a droid. You couldn't feel their emotions. But the more sentient ones still at least showed some signs of what they were thinking within. He wasn't sure if it was programming or perhaps that they were in fact sentient. But really, it was the same way with organics. It was just more common to be able to see.

Did the droid just...sigh? After admitting to it being a little bit a hiding. Well, how lovely. Rocho gave out a chuckle and a smile waving a hand to the side casually, "I've got nothing better to do right now. Talk away. I'm interested. And really, there is no reason to worry about me. If you or your brothers don't have a bounty, I have no interest in trying to go after you here. Or spread any sensitive information about you either. I've worked with more unusual things...probably."

Probably was the right word he thought. He didn't really know how strange the droid really was, but he was pretty sure it didn't range off the scale too far from what he was used to. Then again, he could be totally wrong.

“Nope, no bounties on us. We are all actually after a bounty set by ourselves. A personal one.

Leaning forward in his seat Switchblade tried grabbing the Trandoshan’s attention. But while also simultaneously making sure no one else heard the conversation.

“About four years ago myself and nine of my brothers were created. The lab we were made in was located aboard a spaceship, a research vessel actually. We were created as a prototype for the next generation of protocol droids. Well, one of my brothers, Victory, didn’t like the idea of people controlling us. He was the first one created. But anyway, he rebeled.”

Taking a pause he looked over his shoulder. No one was listening in. Good.

“The creators instantly shot him. Well, turns out, the rest of us didn’t like that. A huge fight broke out. A few creators died, but so did almost all of us. Myself, Fortune, and Infinity were the last three alive. We were against five armed creators while we had nothing. Quickly, we all ran toward three separate escape pods. We all made it out, barely. Now we are trying to reconnect, so then we can kill the creators. They should be punished for their deeds.”

Rocho let out another hum as he explained they had no bounties. Best for them, given where he was. Rocho leaned in as well as Switchblade did to listen, as he explained. Semi-unique creations, nine, presumably. True or not in reality, Rocho had no way of determining that truth. He only had what he was told. The droid was young, but it was a droid, so it's age was mostly irrelevant.

So, there was a rebellion. One which didn't go as well as they liked, the result, where they were now. Still living creators, and these droids on a search for each other to complete the group and get vengeance. Rocho nodded along as he finished before leaning back, tapping the table with his clawed fingers and smiling as he spoke, "The Scorekeeper would approve of that goal if she watches you. Well-" he flattened his hand and took in a breath, "In that case. I have a further inquiry. Do you actually want my aid in this endeavor. The way I see it, you don't yet have enough for convenience of getting your brothers. I'd be willing to help in that. And, should you still need it, the hunt of these creators. Though, of course, going that far I may need payment. Even if it comes only from removal of some of their assets. I dislike the searching in the city when I do not know the target, but having an extra set of eyes could be useful. Besides, like I said, I'm curious."

Course, the reptile would hardly let his guard down around the droid or for awhile around them. But that didn't mean he couldn't work with them, he'd worked with many before and intended to work with many after who he didn't have any intention of fully trusting. That was just the way of work.
