Strengths:
Fast: The greatest asset that that AT-360 has are its engines, with the base ship already having four, Ceran decided that the best thing to do was add an additional two. With a combined number of engines equaling six, and two power cores both fueling these angines, the Banthas Bite is not only ludicrously fast, but also slightly unstable.
Maneuverability: The AT-360 along with its great speed was designed to have a massive amount of maneuverability, to further press this into his own modified version Ceran has added some new modification to the ship itself. Upon the wings of the ship Ceran had installed Four additional thrust modules. These small modules are nothing but run off valves from the main engines, when utilized the valves open and thrust is pushed through them, since these modules are located on the wings it aids in turn speed and maneuverability making the craft more agile.
Armament: The AT-360 had one of the worst armaments in Light Freighter History, acknowledging this, and knowing that in his line of work he needed more, Ceran decided that he would go all out. Modeling his ships weapons after one of the most famous vessels in history Ceran decided to add two GN-40 Twin Blaster Cannons, two Concussion Missile Launchers, and the not so Famous Disruptor Torpedos. This combination of weapons along with the speed and maneuverability of his ship give Ceran a huge edge in space combat and make him nothing less than downright deadly.
Weaknesses:
Fuel Burner: The greatest and perhaps most annoying weakness of the AT-360 is the fact that it burns fuel at an extreme rate. This weakness is even further exacerbated by the addition of a second power core aboard the Banthas Bite. The Fuel cost of this ship is extreme, and were Ceran not an excellent bounty hunter and contracted to a Major Faction full time, it would be unlikely he could afford to use it.
Squishy: Despite its extensive modifications and the changes it has undergone the Banthas Bite is still an incredibly underarmored ship. It has nothing more than a thin durasteel hull and if struck by even a few turbolaser strikes its shields will go down and the ship will go soon thereafter. The Bantha relies entirely upon its extreme speed and maneuverability, if locked into place, it will not last long.
Random Hyperdrive: The tinkering that Ceran has conducted on this ship is quite unfortunate in that sometimes it works for him, and sometimes against. Strangely enough the Hyperdrive which Ceran has color coordinates switches between a rating of 0.7 to 3.0. How this happens, or why it happens is unknown, but at random times the Hyperdrive can either be one of the best in the galaxy, or one of the worst.
Description:
Cerans ship the Bantha's Bite is a heavily modified AT-360 Freighter. The ship has undergone significant changes in weight, capability, and armament.
In order to maintain and increase the speed of the ship three of the five crew compartment bays had been removed, the cockpit which had once sat three men had been whittled down to only a single control console and everything that had been removed was either thrown away, or dismembered and refitted elsewhere on the ship.
To sum it all up, The Bantha's Bite was now a very different ship.
The Inside was now fit for only three people to actually live in, with one cabin having a bed, a desk, and an attached bathroom along with some walking around space while the remaining one had a bunk bed and a bathroom. The cargo bay which had once held fifteen metric tons of Cargo had been reduced to a measly 5 tons of carrying space and had instead been replaced with a set of force cages for which to hold prisoners.
The removal of this massive amount of space and the only small addition of a set of force cages allowed the Banthas Bite to hold a second power core. This power core is an exact copy of the power core the AT-360 runs off of. This secondary power core aids in both the driving of its ships, and powering its additional weapon systems. It also means however that the AT-360's already considerable fuel consumption is doubled.
These changes to the inside of the ship surprisingly reduced quite a bit of weight, given that three whole bedroom had been removed in the favor of what was now practically empty space.
The reduction of weight, along with the addition of two more engines and a second power core now meant that The Bantha's Bite was quite a bit faster than its standard AT-360 cousins.
The secondary changes that were brought about on the Banthas Bite were the addition of several new weapon systems.
The four Laser Cannons that had been situated within the AT-360's wings had been replaced with Two GN-40 Twin Blaster Cannons, both very fast repeating blaster cannons whose volume of fire nearly tripled what they had replaced.
At the base of the ship, where the wings met the body two Concussion Missiles Launchers had been installed, one for each side. These Missiles launchers contained eight missiles each. This addition was considered essential by Ceran as it provided him with a great deal of ship to ship capability. Additionally each of these launchers contained two dummy proton torpedo launchers, each one containing a tracking device capable of “sticking” to a target.
The final addition to the Bantha's new suite of armaments was the creation of a new weapons bay in the front of the ship. This system essentially opens up the very front spine of the ship, two pieces of metal folding back to reveal three Disruptor Torpedos.
These were the most prized weapons that Ceran had managed to acquire. Each Torpedo upon detonation erupted in a flash of ion energy, creating a field of ion energy similar to an ion bomb. The Field was so large it was capable of disabling freighters in a single hit, and a large zone on impact to capital ships. When it came to acquiring bounties in space, these three missiles would prove to be invaluable.
All in all, the Bantha Bite is an extremely well rounded ship with still startling failings. Like the Famous Slave I it is designed to be the ultimate bounty hunting ship. It will track targets, chase them down to exhaustion, and take them down in a surprisingly quick manner. Though it still has major vulnerabilities, in the hands of an extremely experienced pilot and fighter like Ceran, it is an excellent ship.
