The Beginning of Something New - I Hope

Good Afternoon!

I figured this is probably the best place to express my goals with this as well as give you all a general vision of where I see the Primacy going, and how we're going to get there. This is mostly short term (Short meaning till the end of this year) planning and getting us established to a point where we have a functioning government IC as well as a somewhat independent minor faction.

I'll say it up front - my intent is to keep this a minor faction for a good amount of time before we go major. In my experience, I'd like to do a lot of world building and lore building for our faction and going major seems to get in the way of that sometimes. That being said, there shouldn't be a reason why we can't still write great stories without indulging the map game at this point in our creation.

With that out of the way, I'll dig into the real story plan/stuff.

Premise:

I would like to start off with a series of threads. Currently the Chiss Ascendancy resides within Iron Empire space. I would like to see them remain an ally so the angle I'm taking is this. Historically the Chiss have been fiercely independent, and in Chaos lore they suffered at the hands of the One Sith, and an attempted genocide by a Sith Lord. By the grace of the void, the Iron Empire was willing and able to step in, assisting the Chiss Ascendancy against these enemies, saving the Chiss as a whole from unspeakable horrors they may have been faced with had those evils succeeded. In its current state, the Chiss Ascendancy has become a vassal state of the Iron Empire, and rightly so. For their assistance, a show of appreciation and loyalty was not only logical but the right thing to do.

Despite this, there have been rumors, whispers in dark corners of the Ascendancy held worlds overseen by the Iron Empire. "Why should the Chiss be made mere vassals of a greater Empire? Why should be bend the knee as vassals rather than stand on our own?"

These whispers have become less and less quiet, though to say it was general sentiment would be far from the truth. While most of the Chiss Ascendancy remains content as vassals of the Iron Empire, there are those who have expressed doubt - a few staunch believers that the Chiss would do better on their own, independent of any vassal obligations. Their xenophobia has been dulled over time by their positive interactions with the Iron Empire, some simply chose to hold their tongue. Chiss superiority - an ideal that once created a strong and tightly knit empire, once more has risen among some of the higher ranking members of the Nuruodo family. An idea began to form, the thought of a true Chiss empire tantalizing some of the old guard and even some of the new.

Thread Ideas:

Chapter I: What's in an Acquaintance?

Establishing your characters, meeting other like minded individuals. This is very much a "Slice of life" thread aimed at getting our members acquainted. Find a new friend, develop contacts, expand your intel network, the sky's the limit! That being said - no one should be performing acts of terrorism or blowing anything up. This isn't a combat thread (Barfights are fair game though!)

Chapter II: The Aristocra and the Ruling Families

This would be a series of 4 sub threads - one focusing on each ruling family where our characters attempt to persuade members of each house (Influential ones like top researchers, Officers, Planners, Politicians, maybe even an Aristocra. We can roll dice to figure out who we do convince and who we don't and build from there. In one of our failed attempts, we could even escape a jail cell or even play cat and mouse with security forces as they try to apprehend us or something. Lots of ideas here, but the theme would be using non-combative methods to sway opinion and get prominent figures to join what we will later call The Chiss Primacy.

These are my initial thoughts - all threads would be public as they're in Iron Empire space, and again - the Iron Empire isn't some evil and oppressive ruling faction, the premise for this is less focused on the idea that they are oppressive and more aimed at exploring the "Let's make the Chiss something to be proud of, let's rise from bended knee and stand as equals with the Iron Empire and the rest of the galaxy".

If anyone has any questions, feel free to let me know! Thoughts are appreciated but I also want to respect the Iron Empire and their narrative so if you guys have questions or ideas, let me know and I'm more than happy to either answer them or find out for you!

Not sure if you want to factor it in at all or not, but Sirat Wen (planet sub) includes two small planets mainly populated by Chiss.

Thanks!

As a side note - I think I'm going to take a different angle due to some developments, but I'll outline those in detail shortly. Here's the short and dirty version.

FYI - we're going to be taking a different angle - so as to avoid stepping on toes. Doesn't change much - except the origin story.
I will be submitting a unique colony ship to the factory soon, that's our origin. Premise is before the IE, before the OS, when the Chiss Ascendancy was still it's own thing, a small entity in a much larger universe, they dispatched a colony ship to survive as the shadow of the One Sith began to make its way towards the Chiss Home Worlds
That colony ship hit a distortion, an anomaly - and has been suspended in time for several years/however long it's been since OS and then concurrently the IE saved the Chiss worlds from genocide
We now re-emerge, expecting to end up in some far away galaxy but find out we're in the same galaxy, and things have changed. The One Sith have crumbled, the Iron Empire saved the core Chiss worlds etc
and rather than rejoin the IE, we complete our mission of colonization on a non-inhabited world
it will give us the opportunity to really do some exploration threads, and craft our own new world
