The Beginnings of the Sister

Rachel sat calmly in a cafe. She was enjoying a coffee. She had contacted one of the members of the SJO in hopes of getting a master of some kind. She had received a message from [member="Ye Hyonu"]. She had then sent one back to meet here. She looked around at all the people.

She had been searching for a lead on her brother. He had been missing since the last mission he had been on was on Hoth hunting rebels. She hadn't heard from him since. No one would talk to her about where or why he might have when so she left herself after a few years. She had heard of him being in several areas of the galaxy but noting had come of any of them.

So now she turned to the SJO for help and training. Maybe one day they might help her find her brother. Or maybe she would become something important somewhere in the galaxy. It mattered little to her with a pr-20 at her side. She always had some form of weapon with her. Right at the moment this one felt like the best.

For some reason as of recent, Dr. Ye found himself in more demand than usual. He didn’t complain, his time was mostly filled with just research and looking after a boy that was found in the shadowlands. If he wasn’t doing any of those things, his time taken by interviewing assistants. Several younglings and padawans had come to his office in hopes that they would be chosen to help the man with his research. None impressed the difficult man, so alas he was stuck with no one.

He quietly cursed the name of [member="Nora Lithos"] - the woman abandoned him to his own devices while researching a rather peculiar virus that was unleashed on a Silver Order planet. They had been able to handle it, but the woman was vital to his research. Rolling his shoulders back, he pushed Nora from his mind for now – he would pester her later and if need be he’d arrive on her doorstep to pester her in person. Hyonu didn’t take no for an answer very well.

Pulling out his comm device, he scanned through his holo messages, one originally was from another Master of the Order directing a young woman to him, then the next message that followed was from said young woman. They had exchanged and decided to meet at a café. He wondered if this young woman would impress him. Walking into the café he looked towards the menu and figured to just get something simple, he grabbed his black caf and then wandered till he found the Chiss girl sitting alone.

With almost and unimpressed look he bent over slightly to put himself into view for the girl. “Miss Taff?”

Rachel snapped out of her thoughts at someone speaking to her. She careful pointed her pr-20 under the table before she looked up at the man she was here to meet, placing it back at her side. The man looked unimpressed with her already, well that made things better and worse. She had no where to really go but up. "Sorry, you caught me by surprise most people don't call me by my last name. Sorry about the gun. I am still a little jumpy."

She would stand in a spacers outfit, the plasma rifle still at her side. "You must be [member="Ye Hyonu"], the master I was supposed to talk to. Would you like a seat." She would ask pointing to the other seat at the table. She would then settle herself again. She would take a sip smiling to herself as the spirits she had lived with forever whispered things about this man. "So I hear you are hard to please, so why did you accept talking to me?"

Her eyes watching for any forms of clues as to how to approach this problem. Then the spirits spoke softly about a problem and a woman. How curious. "So you research viruses, along with other medical skills, I am not the most dept at these types of skills. My parents when they were alive taught me blades and blasters. But I had a small passion for history. It pales in comparison to my brother. But I would be willing to learn, but as long as I am not placed in charge of anything. I am better as a supporter than a leader." She said with a air of calmness even with the unimpressed look that had been levelled on her.

The Master glanced towards the seat that was offered to him. He nodded and pulled a small handkerchief from his jacket pocket and wiped down the seat along with the table that would be in his vicinity. Tucking the cloth away he pulled out the seat and sat down. The Caf was brought to his thin lips as he took a sip and listened to the rest of what she had to say. Her words were spot on about the rumors that would surround him. Though he was surprised she knew the exact subject of his research. The caf found its way to the table as he nodded and decided to answer her questions.

Lips formed an awkward smile as he remembered being told he needed to smile more. “I am difficult to please. It seems my reputation precedes me in this matter.” Clearing his voice, he continued. “ As to why I am entertaining our conversation, its quite simple. I decided to take an interest in you. You were well spoke in our communications which shows intelligence – along with how you’re carrying yourself now.”

Pearl white teeth showed through the awkward smile. The man nodded, “Knowing one’s weakness is the first step to overcoming them. The fact that you’re able to say where you fall short – I respect that. I can teach you about my work, healing and among other things. I’ve been told I need to share my knowledge.” His hand moved as he spoke as if the words were coming to him as they continued.

“Tell me more about yourself. What is your goals in life? Desires? What drives you Miss Taff.” The conversation started to sound like an interview, but it was apparent that the doctor was showing interest in the girl before him. His body leaned forward, his caf forgotten as his elbow rested on the table. His hand rested under his chin as his smile turned genuine.

She watched [member="Ye Hyonu"] face sipping on her own caf. As he spoke he began to smile. It looked like a smile that people didn't see often enough. Funny how some people locked away their smiles. But this was a nice smile and not a forced one. He was quite proud that his reputation preceded him.Not uprising though, lot of people liked hearing others had heard of them. She listened to the rest of his piece. He spoke about her intelligence. He hadn't even really made a note of the gun she had pointed at him two seconds earlier. How curious.

Rachel nodded, she was always willing to see her shortcomings whatever they might be. Including the one about finding her family. Big issue of hers wanting to find her family. That's why she had come to the SJO was her family. He mentioned sharing his knowledge. Rachel perked up at that, the idea of learning someone else knowledge was a big thing for her. The only people who ever did that were family with her. She was more than intrigued though.

What to tell him, what to tell him. Well if he is to be the master everything is better than nothing. "My goals in life is to find my family, I only have one brother left who went missing. I have been trying to find him since he left. Beyond that, I think giving to a cause is also a brilliant goal. Well it just so happened the silver's were the ones closest to my own ideals. Healing people and redeeming them is another big thing. I might have scars from my dead brother but if he had been redeemed, maybe he could have been one of the best people out there. But things happen for a reason." She said with a touch of sorrow when mentioning her family but otherwise a calm presence.
