There was little that could be said of the Mandalorian people and their music. For all the Galaxy knew, they were a Joyless, War-like people that relished in the clashing of swords and the thunderous cacophony of plasmatic cannonade. However, the truth was very much the opposite. Like many other Cultures that populated the Galaxy, the Mandalorian people relished the sonorous tunes that inspired them to dance. While these musical styles differed from one Clan to another and were likely heavily influenced by the myriad regional dialects, there was a single constant that spanned the Cultural boundaries.
Although their construction, composition, and styles were akin to the myriad variations of musical preferences that dominated the Clans - there were some that relished the hauntingly beautiful notes created by a stringed instrument. Again, the sensations invoked by such sounds were heightened or altered depending on the strings that were struck - either by fingers or a threaded bow.
However, as befitting any Mandalorian instrument crafted by an Artisan’s hands, the Bes’nynir also doubled as an improvised weapon. While the Bes’bev was a stabbing weapon, the Bes’nynir was an improvised blunt weapon, that was capable of remaining structurally sound under repeated physical duress. Naturally, that capability varied from one struck object to another - as flesh held a different structural density than metal. In addition to that, the strings themselves were pliable enough and forged from tightly wound Flexisteel - which could be utilized as an improvised Garrote.

Sufficed to say, Mandalorians weren’t the greatest fans of those who were overly critical of their beloved music.
