The birth of the kingmaker

Location: LC-2The world needed a future. The world needed security. The world needed to know that there was a man out there to protect them and look after them. That would be james. The people's criminal would do that. And it started with building the kingmaker.

The spacer set the parts down on the desk and set to to work. First he set the durasteel base mask in front of himself. It had been designed and custom made for this purpose. It was something of a cross between a helmet face plate and a circuit board to attach the other parts he had gained.

The first thing to be welded on was a trio micro lithium high power batteries. They would hold their charge for over 72 hours before having to be recharged completely. He was confident that would be the length he would need this mask in a given scenario.

But still james was not one to take chances. When the batteries were attached, he grabbed a series of micro solar pannels and began attaching them on the forehead of the mask. He swallowed and wipped his hands clean before moving on to the next parts.

James reached across the workstation and grabbed a handful of slicer units. These had been salvaged from some of the galaxy's most advanced and able slicer droids. The units would be able to cut through all but the most able firewalls. He would need them to fire through any and every resistant computer. The intel that lay on the otherside would be valuable in braking the most evil of criminals. His micro welder added the four units with endless relays and failsafes. It was imperative that they did not fail or get reverse hacked.

Satisfied he grabbed the micro cameras he had bought off the black market. Each had their own special purpose, and each came in pairs. One pair was for infrared vision to aid in the lack thereof in his species. Another pair detected ultraviolet lighting for the moments he knew there would be a need. The third pair came equipped with a x300 zoom with high definition relays in case he had to detect those things far away or too small for the naked eye. James spared no expense and when it came to vison, he knew that makes was always more.

James dusted the ashes off his cigarette and admired his handy work. It was quiet good. But it was far from finished.

Next he added a pair of ultra sensitive sonic detectors. Each would be 400x more sensitive than the human hearing. One never knew whence that would be important. One was added to each side. Of course listening in to conversations was only part of the need for this portion of the scanners. He relayed a set of wires from each to an ultra high definition holographic. The image would be projected onto james' hud contacts and give a sonic view of the world. Voices would appear to be resonant vectors where the sound came from. The sound bouncing off walls would appear to be akin to the echo location some species used. It was a unique way to view the world when activated.

Near the bridge made for his nose james began attaching olfactory nodes. Designed with Vong tech to interface with electronics these had cost james a small fortune each. But they were highly sensitive to smells and could detect trance amounts and route them to the powerful processor. The processor would through a long list of chemical compounds and elements to give an analysis. How sensitive were they? Sensitive enough to pick up four parts per billion.

James finished wiring the olfactory interface in and sighed. He had a new appreciation for his own senses and who or whatever had made them.

The spacer took a swig from his bottle of ale before continuing. Yes he was getting weary fast. But he would finish this personally. Across the eyebrow area james attached a duo of targeting scanners and sensors. Using the cameras he and already added they would target and lock onto those he needed to assault, outlining them with bright neon orange outlines. Two, as usual. One for primary and another as a fail safe. They would target a maxium of twenty individual units at once and prioritize them according to the most dangerous to least.

Tapering the last wires down he moved to add the next and equally crucial components, the linking interface. This would combine his Hud contacts, the Lost Angel, and his LC-2 wrist units to work in seamless unity. His wrist units would serve to input commands, his contacts would display the intel and the mask would intake the data. He let out a breath of relief. This would make his work so much easier.

To finalize it he added a command matrix that made his mask the center of control. Flipping it over he added a set of strips of microscopic adhesives to connect to his face on command and release on order. It would be a relatively painless but prickling experience to connect the mask to his face and hold on like skin itself.

At last he added the beskar front. He had gotten it in another set of mining runs, it was as decorative as it was functional. The metal would protect his face and his delicate sensors. On the back he already had added and anti EMP set of metallic wires. Only the most powerful of pulses would shut it down.
