The Bleeding Sun [Discussion]

Hey guys,

I'm not sure how many of you are aware but at-the-moment [member="Vheissu Ireles"] and I are working on streamlining the faction and our next step is going to be improving the Bleeding Sun.

Currently this is the basic idea we have for the new and improved version:

We're going to merge the Banners and the Bleeding Sun into one organization but rather than having you start from the bottom and climb to the top you can start at any rank/position and develop your storyline from there.

Ranks like Executor and Exemplar may pull more weight than Bloodletter and Bannerman but the mechanics and style would be different. So Executor would be for those who want to roleplay the logistics and strategic planning side of wars and campaigns, Exemplars would be for people who want to control fleets and armies, Bloodletter for those who want to control large units and lead them into battle and finally bannermen who'd lead smaller units into infiltration missions, hit-and-run ops, and so on.

Your character will hold the rank and position you choose, the opportunities that follow--such as ruling a planet--are all up to you and how you feel your character should develop. In essence we want you to roleplay your 'agent' in whatever way you'd like, as long as it makes sense and fits the faction's overall agenda. Think of them akin to the Spectres from Mass Effect. You have most authority to be 'above the law' but still answer to your superiors and may decide to uphold the law more than your fellow agents.

How do you think we could improve the Bleeding Sun? Why are you currently interested in being an agent?

I'd appreciate it if you'd all give your thoughts on the matter. Furthermore anyone who's not in the Bleeding Sun may still participate in the discussion.

Yeah, I think we gotta underline the portion where you have the freedom to be whatever you want as a Bleeding Sun.

Maybe you want to be a crazy doctor that solves problems through science, maybe you are a gruff soldier that loves to pump his problems full with lead, hell you can be a stealth assassin if you want to.

So there is a lot of ways to develop your character in the ways you want, while still being a part of the bigger organization. You do what you want, how you want it and together we work towards the betterment of the faction.

That's at least part of my vision.

I think this is a vast improvement, and I like the Spectre analogy, like, a LOT and stuff.

So are, I also see, the opportunities for the Bleeding Sun and Banner (Bleeding Sun?) to rule planets, synonymous with the old system of Warlords?

Like, is it still possible to rule as a Warlord without being Bleeding Sun, but the Bleeding Sun can now rule as dictators too?

Personally I no longer see 'Warlords' like a seperate title. You can be a Warlord as a Bleeding Sun, because that's generally what a Barbarian Zealot Conqueror calls himself when he's waging war on things.

So... Bleeding Suns can conquer planets, just as any other powerful member of the faction. You don't have to put yourself in that category of a 'Warlord' anymore.

If that makes sense?

Boo's an assassin, and should be whatever the basic/lowest level agent is, as befitting his age.

So where ever that shakes out is fine by me. Just let me know so that I can update his sheet.

Other than that, I'm happy with everything. Thank you for all your work on this, [member="Vheissu Ireles"] and [member="Anja Aj'Rou"]

I like this take on the Bleeding Sun, essentially recycling it all under one roof.

The one issue I can see possibly happening is people bouncing around without guide lines, but everyone around here is helpful enough that I don't see that being a problem.
