The Broken Shield

[member="Basaba Willamina"]

Atiniir Starrider came off the shuttle from Nar Shaddaa to Mandalore carrying a single large crate, supported by repulsorlifts. Inside were all his possessions. Some of them were rather ordinary, like his spare ammo, spare clothing, and the SAR-20 rifle [member="Brent Warnel"] had given him, but there were some unique items as well. One was the Sith lightsaber he'd found on Onderon. It would probably fetch millions on the black market, but Atiniir wasn't interested in selling. Another item was a small safe, containing the ashes of what had been left of his father's body. Atiniir had burned his father's bones before entering Iziz, and had placed the ashes in the sake for safekeeping until he found a fitting burial place. The final unique item was a full set of Mandalorian armor, including a jetpack. It was amazing that everything fit in the crate; Atiniir was glad he'd made the investment until he got a real ship for himself.

When he got off the shuttle, he looked around. He needed to find someone who would be willing to repair his armor for next to no credits. He had a few left, but not a whole lot. Maybe he could offer to work, or maybe the Mandalorians here would be willing to help out a fellow Mando'ade. Finally, his eyes settled on a single factory, which its sign declared as the Chai La factory. It looked promising, so he walked in. Once inside, he looked around for someone to talk to.

Basaba was with her sisters, the other ones here and there moving around the warehouse and factory they had. With all of the expansion and work Chai La was doing putting work into their business they were getting some of the older models out of storage. Specifically the Cerberus as they could now operate and produce it expanding on the weapon systems of it to hold more. To possibly if she got it right be reinforced with duraplast for emp resistance on top of it all. The Dar'yaim cannon on a mount wouldn't hurt either as they could use it against legions with its explosive force. Then there was something as she stood up with the other on top of the large mechanical war droid looking down from the platform of the warehouse. "What do you need?" She said it loud while the mechanical arm clenched with the hydrospanner before she went back to work with the others.

At the voice Atiniir looked up to see a woman on a raised platform repairing a rather large droid. He opened the crate, pulled out the pieces of armor, and dumped them on the floor. There was a full set: chestplate, gorget, shoulder plates, gauntlets, boots, greaves, backplate, jetpack, and helmet. All were in varying stages of disrepair, and a couple were so rusted you could barely make out the metal beneath. The gauntlets had once housed a flamethrower, mini-rocket launcher, grapple line, six-inch retractable blade, and dart launcher, but all were completely busted. The napalm tank was empty, the fuel line filled with holes. The jetpack hadn't fired in more than a decade.

"I need an armor repair, and any upgrades you can get me," he said, "You can work beskar right?"

Watching him deposit armor pieces on the floor the field marshal stood there with a raised eyebrow. Grabbing one of the chains with her cybernetic arm holding on as she jumped down slowly landing as she looked down at the parts. "Is that how you do this at home, just dump it on the floor?" They could have been working on things and he did it while looking at them while crossing her arms. "As for beskar yes i can work with it and we have the equipment to improve your armor but it is not cheap." She was pointing over to some of the things they had set up showing the different sisters armor as well as the components. She motioned for one of them to go and get the pieces so they could set them out and work on some of the things.

"I can't carry it all, and I don't see a table," Atiniir said rather indignantly as the woman took the pieces to work on them. When it was said that it wasn't cheap, he rubbed the back of his neck kind of sheepishly.

"I'm a little strapped for cash right now," he said, "I've got a good quality wampa pelt, if your up for barter, or I can work it off."

Basaba looked at him and well she preferred credits but barter could work, you never knew when some of the more exotic materials could come in handy. She was looking at him with a small look. "Alright bring what you can." Her hand came out while some of the other sisters were working with a small look on their faces. She had the beskar that could be worked for it. "And what other materials do you want added to the mix?" Her hands were going over some of the things being set up while showing a display. THe hardlight projectors working for them as the woman bowed her head a little grabbing some of the parts. "We have some special components, tactical pouches for ammo, MREs and anything else you need, Magnetic clasps for attaching and holding onto equipment. How special do you want this armor?"

Atiniir breathed a sigh of relief as the woman accepted the barter.

"Here you go, ner'vod," he said, pulling the wampa pelt with some difficulty out of the crate. The pelt was large and decently thick, definitely of good quality. He gathered it in his hands, searching for a place to put it, and then heard the woman's questions. He thought about what he wanted for his armor. His father had done well making it usable for a Mandalorian warrior, but he would have wanted Atiniir to make it his own. The armor was pretty bare-bones, a perfect slate.

"If you're willing and able," he said, still talking around the pelt in his hands, "Put magnetic clasps capable of taking military-grade weaponry on the back and both thighs, load-bearing gear pouches on the chestplate, and a knife sheath on the top left of the chestplate. Its got everything else I need, just needs some TLC."

SHe was looking at it and his idea, there was some things like his definition of military grade weapons as she was had helped construct the new model multipurpose weapons and Chai La used the modular wrist weapons system they had developed to hold nearly two dozen weapons. Or their shoulder cannons and rifles, the different knives and blades with her personal favorite being the omnibreaker for shattering other vods beskads and even opening their armor with little effort. "Do you have weapons in mind, there are a lot and the Willamina clans are held to a higher standard in terms of capability compared to others same with our armor components."

[member="Basaba Willamina"]
"I didn't mean mount weapons there," Atiniir said, "I meant just have a clasp that can take the weight of a blaster rifle, so I can holster it there. Same with the thighs, for blaster pistols." Atiniir wondered if there was anything else, now that he thought about it.

"Put another blade in there," he said, "There's only one right now, in the gauntlet. Mount another in the other one. That should be all."

Atiniir waited patiently.

She looked at him while they were working on it and finishing some of the designs, the Magno Clasp and Tensai Components could be used on the armor for what he needed as she started working with them at the forge. She motioned over with the other sisters as they continued to construct where they could with the different pieces. Adding to repair the plates of the armor as she worked on the different parts of it. "Keep up the heat and add some of the duraplast into it to strengthen the plates." She got nods of confirmation as they kept working at it. Her own attention to the work before checking on the other one while motioning with her hand. "How goes the upgrades to the cerberus?" The pink armored mando was standing there with a large sword as she looked over some of the things. "We are loading the dar'yaim cannon onto its arm and it will be ready for use when we need it."

Basaba continued to work at it in the forge, with the other sisters around while they turned attention to the rest of the shop. The cerberus droids were getting activated with the new armaments that they could work with here and there. She was letting the beskar plating show off until they had the plates getting worked on with the hammers and tongs to repair them. The forge staying hot for the rest of the metal when they started assembling it on a mannequin droid for display purposes as well as the rest of the equipment filling up the fuel packs for the flame thrower as well as some of the other parts. She finished up standing there in the tank top before finishing the last of the equipment and setting it up on the droid.

Atiniir did a quick 360 walk around of the droid, getting more impressed with each step. It was a beautiful set, with all the things a Mandalorian bounty hunter might need.

"Well, I'm impressed," he said, standing at the front, "Thanks."

Atiniir removed the armor and placed it into the crate. He draped the pelt over the mannequin and nodded to the woman who had repaired the armor. He then turned and pushed the crate out of the factory.

OOC: Thank you so much for doing this. I'll get the armor into the codex.
