- Description: The Saviors are comprised exclusively of Amariatu Akhenaton. Armed with standard combat equipment, and gifted with the ability of flight, they aim to provide medical assistance and rescue for their allies who are badly wounded or who fall in battle. The Saviors all wear a small backpack underneath their wings which carries the medical gear they need to save lives. As such, they are easily distinguished from more combative members of their race for those perceptive enough to notice this feature. They also tend to possess the insignia of the Bryn'adul upon their shoulders, though this is not universal.
- Unit Size: Small (8 Members per Squad)
- Unit Availability: Common
- Unit Experience: Trained
- Equipment: Model-A Verikast Armor | Barad Assault Carbine | Knife | M30 Sear Grenades (x2) | Personal Shielding | Assorted Medical Supplies (Bandages, Restorative Mutagens, Medicinal Chemicals, Typical Medic Equipment)
- Combat Function: The Saviors serve as Support for many of the assorted Corps and combat groups of the Bryn'adul. Comprised entirely of Amariatu Akhenaton, and gifted with the ability of flight as a result, the Saviors utilize their exceptional mobility and oversight of a battlefield to locate areas of heavy conflict where they can provide life-saving medical attention and retrieval of critically-wounded warriors.
While not frontline warriors, the Saviors are used to maneuvering through areas of intense combat and are equipped with the necessary armament to hold their own until they have properly retrieved any downed allies. Typically, in compromised areas, the Saviors will simply haul the wounded party away from the frontline so that they can receive medical attention, but they are known to occasionally suppress hostile forces while one or two Amariatu perform actual triage and healing work.
As with many other facets of the Bryn'adul, the Saviors tend to prioritize members of the allied races and the Baedurin and Aeravalin subraces over mere drones, and they are not properly equipped to deal with some of the more swarm-like war creatures such as Draeyde. On occasion, Saviors will provide medical assistance to wounded war-beasts under the supervision of a Shaman who keeps the creature calm and under control during the process, but priority is given to sapient allies for the most part.
- Maneuverable - Possessing wings and the ability of flight, the Saviors are exceptionally swift in their acquisition of new targets and casualties. They can reach the frontline dramatically faster than those races who need to rely on mechanical transportation or on-foot transit, and can circumvent a number of environmental hazards in the process.
- Lock-Down - More than many of their allies, the Saviors have been directed in methods of suppression and battlefield control. Utilizing the spray of their carbines, and the M30 Sear Grenades that are standard-issue for their unit, they tend to easily succeed in keeping their foes from advancing until they have completed their medical work.
- Field Medic - The Saviors have been trained carefully in the methods and procedures necessary to heal their allies. They can deal with many kinds of injuries including fractures, burns, bullet wounds, and can stabilize those who have suffered forceful amputation... or perform them themselves if it means saving a patient. Typically a few Saviors in a group will also carry around basic defibrillation equipment meant to shock the life back into their companions - these are biological in nature.
- Skeet - There is very little in the way of cover when one is flying through the air. As such, well-trained marksmen or those in an advantageous position who are not distracted by other fighting may find it especially easy to pick off Saviors before they have arrived.
- Power Hour - Amariatu find the act of flight to be an exercise. Most can only remain in the air for about an hour. If they spend a significant amount of time carrying other beings while in flight, that time can decrease substantially and they may find themselves exhausted and forced to operate on foot until they recuperate.
- Not Offensive - The Saviors have trained to lock down an area and suppress the enemy while they work, but they are not equipped or trained to push the offensive beyond that. If forced to lead a charge, they may quickly find themselves outgunned and outmaneuvered.
With the continued cloning and deployment of Akhenaton throughout Bryn'adul controlled space, it became necessary to better equip members of their species to fulfill set combat roles so that they could specialize more effectively in those tasks. While many of the Akhenaton had operated primarily as combat engineers and area fortifiers, it was quickly apparent that flight granted to their Amariatu sub-race meant a heightened degree of speed and mobility that few could match unaided.
The rising casualties associated with the more desperate tactics utilized by the Concord and her allies also meant that there was a clear and evident need for combat medics. Attached to a fledgling Support Corps, the Amariatu Saviors were one of the first additions to this Corps.
