- Military Base Name: The Bulwark
- Classification: Military Operations Headquarters
- Location: Anaxes
- Affiliation: The 202nd Legion "Anaxes' Might"
- Population: Heavy
- Demographics: The 202nd Legion is exclusively made up of humanoids, but data on their races is of no importance. An Iron Trooper is an Iron Trooper and nothing else.
- Accessibility: The Bulwark is located in an unrecorded section of the ocean of Anaxes. Other than its remoteness it makes no attempt at hiding itself.
- Description: The Bulwark is a monster of a headquarters. Centuries have passed for the 202nd Legion to refine every aspect of its design, building countless kill zones and defenses making it near impenetrable.
The Tower
(Seen Above)
The Tower is the primary habitat of The Bulwark, equipped with barracks-style bunk rooms where squads sleep together, rooms equipped with holographic equipment for pleasure or business, several training rooms for a variety of combat, a large pub, gambling hall, and last but not least: meeting hall, not to mention a dozen or so other rooms meant to meet a variety of needs. The Tower keeps the troopers within both comfortable and battle-ready, with a series of bullet trains able to deploy troopers across The Bulwark incase of an emergency. (Seen Above)
The Trench
The Trench is the ultimate kill zone, and also the only area which is large enough to fit small transport craft. It is incredibly heavily defended, with several layers of scaffolding and ladders lining its sides which must be used to get to the doors near the top and enter the building. All of these platforms and ladders are not what they appear either, their sturdy and safe appearance betraying the fact that they are capable of folding into the walls of the The Trench to prevent use, trapping anyone at the bottom of The Trench. Lining the walls of The Trench are several small towers, inside of which are heavy machine guns, grenade launchers, rockets, and shield generators which are capable of creating a shield to seal The Trench and trap anyone inside while specialized personnel who live within the towers reign hell fire on the unlucky victims. To enter these towers one must go to the furthest parts of the base through several large hallways filled with shields and blast doors to hinder movement for the enemy and provide cover for the defenders. And if all else fails the whole base will submerge, flooding the trench, where the shield will be activated drowning anyone inside. The walls of The Trench are also equipped with several automated turrets that can fold out of the wall, as well as hundreds of small sliding doors where defenders can poke their guns through and fire upon the enemy.
The Mausoleum
[IMAGE REDACTED]
Within the depths of the compound is The Mausoleum, one of the oldest and most important areas of the structure. It is described as being a large open space filled with colossal pillars. Each pillar has small holes, inside of which an upturned helmet filled with the ashes of its deceased owner. It is said that millions of helmets line these pillars, the walls, and are even tied to full pillars or hung from the ceiling. Each helmet has the datatag of the owner tied to it, a small data device that can be easily accessed, describing the campaigns the trooper participated in, how they died, their rank, and some of their greatest achievements. It is said that this is the only part of the whole compound that weapons are not permitted and that has no defenses within, although it is incredibly difficult to reach. There is one pillar in the center of the room which has been set aside for the heroes of the 202nd Legion, currently, only three spaces are filled, the traditional stormtrooper helmet of Commander Rost fills one space, a helmet of the most ancient custom designs of the 202nd legion belonging to Commander Mallast fills another, and the last is occupied by a single boot, the only recovered part of Trooper Rhin who died in the Yuuzhan Vong war. The Underbelly
The Underbelly is the nickname given to the parts of The Bulwark that forever stay underwater. These facilities have a variety of uses but the two largest being factories to produce the weapons and armor of the 202nd Legion and R&D Laboratories to keep the Legion on the cutting edge of modern technology. Any "civilian" within the 202nd Legion is put to work here, as well as housed and fed here. These civilians are often freed slaves or poor individuals too old to be trained as a Trooper but given the opportunity to help out in other ways. Although they see little of the profits of the 202nd Legion, they are kept safe and generally comfortable as long as they stay productive.
SECURITY
The Bulwark is incredibly difficult to enter. Not only are the only docking ports specifically designed to only accommodate ships with specific landing gear of which is only possessed by the 202nd Legion, but the whole station is capable of submerging itself under the ocean and activating an incredibly powerful shield to surround the entire base, even under the ground. If you somehow decide you can try to get past all that, the Bulwark has dozens of automated anti-air guns scattered across its surface covered in phrik plating. And if you somehow get through all of that, every individual in the base who isn't in training is a fully trained soldier willing to defend The Bulwark to the death with the assistance of hundreds of automated turrets capable of popping out of walls and the ceiling all over the base.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
After the defeat of the First Order, due to the 202nd's contribution to the war (free of charge), they were once allowed to return to the homeworld of their legion. It was here under the command of Commander Mallast that the Bulwark was constructed. The 202nd had lost many lives during the war, and previous conflicts before, and although they had become rich their nomadic lifestyle and being involved in constant conflict made it difficult to find and train new blood to fill the ranks. So Commander Mallast pooled the resources of the Legion and built The Bulwark as the ultimate fortress to show the strength of the legion and as an ideal location for the housing and training of new recruits.
The Bulwark would remain a testament to the 202nd's resolve and strength for centuries, slowly growing in size, efficiency, and purpose all until the outbreak of the Gulag Plague within the core worlds. Due to the nature of the disease, the risk of keeping the entire legion in one place, especially on an infected world, was deemed too great, and most of the legion once again adopted a nomadic life style, leaving behind only a ghost remnant to defend The Bulwark. However, as the plague continued for nearly 4 centuries, the two branches of the 202nd would diverge greatly, with the nomads adopting a more pirate-like status, raiding, pillaging, and taking captives from worlds already ravaged by war and plague to fuel their way of life while the planet-bound group on Anaxes would keep pure to the mercenary roots of the legion and would begin to defend colonies of survivors from those seeking to harm them and even taking in hundreds of civilians within The Bulwark, seeing a huge boom in the numbers of soldiers within the 202nd Legion. The planet-bound group would grow exponentially, spreading across the core worlds and even engaging with their nomadic brethren on several occasions. This would all build up to a final battle between the two groups at the end of the gulag plague within The Bulwark where the planet-bound group came out victorious. It is said that this battle is the only one in which The Bulwark was almost destroyed by the pure ferocity of the conflict.
During the early months of 843 ABY The Bulwark's underbelly would house a new initiative rarely tried before, simply called Project: Magus. With the rise of Force Sensitives, more and more force-sensitive children were finding their way into the ranks of the 202nd and it was devised that perhaps a new breed of trooper could be formed to serve the 202nd and give them an edge over their enemies. Project: Magus was devised as a way to teach force-sensitive children how to use both the dark and light side of the force while keeping them loyal to The Legion, forming Force Troopers masters in the tactics of the 202nd while also being able to supplement these tactics with powerful force abilities. However, when billions of people disappeared from the galaxy in 844 ABY, the project was discontinued as many vanished from the ranks of the 202nd so resources must be reconsolidated and meddling with the force was deemed too dangerous. However, the specialized training rooms and equipment still can be found within The Bulwark, unused and the possibility of restarting Project: Magus is thrown around frequently.
