The 'Lost Legion' was a small but growing pirate gang in the Outer Rim region of the galaxy, and had begun to make a name for themselves in raiding various farming and mining outpost and colonies. The various colonies and outposts had no overreaching authority of governing body to turn to for aid, and the pirates had killed dozens of farmers and miners across the various worlds and moons. In desperation, the various groups combined what little resources they had and put out a bounty on the Lost Legion in their entirety. Despite the low amount of credits actually offered for the job, the contract was accepted.
Thom stood with his hands folded across his chest, gazing at the holo-image of the space station the small transport was flying towards. Following one of the pirates most recent attacks, a farmer had been able to get a tracking device into some of the crops that were taken. The farmer had given the tracking code to Thom, and he had plugged it in to the small shuttle he had borrowed. The station the pirates were using was an old decommissioned trade station they had secured, and now used as the center of their stolen merchandising empire. Judging by the sensor readings, several other transports and shuttles were either in the process of docking or leaving the station.
They would fit right in.
"Best estimates put the pirate numbers somewhere around one hundred strong. Large mixture of species, with the predominant ones appearing to be human and rodian. The exact positioning of their forces and defenses they might have on the station are unknown, but I doubt they will be very heavy. These little pirates don't have the influence or power needed yet to turn that place into a fortress. If all goes well today, they never will either." Thom spoke quietly, his voice filtered through his helmets voice synthesizer and carrying across the mostly empty cargo bay. The other members of the operation, spread out where they wished in the cargo bay would have little issue hearing him as he typed in a few more commands, the holo-image focusing further on the primary landing bay.
"My initial thought is to land in the main hangar bay here, and neutralize any opposition that we find before locking it down. If we can prevent the pirates from fleeing, they will be forced to fight us and we get get the job done that much faster. The big boss of this group is most likely going to be on the command bridge of the station, three levels up from the hangar bay. There are three entrances to the command bridge, so I figure just before we get there we divide up and flank it on all sides. We blow the doors, kill everyone inside, and set the station to self destruct. Saves us the time it would take to hunt down every last one of the pirates wherever they decide to hide in that piece of kark. Your thoughts?"
