The Crucifixion Engine, at least as it has been translated and described in ancient Gree texts detailing research of Rakata Ruins across the Galaxy during their time beneath the Sith Empire it was a device only 'theorized' to exist at all, a missing link to several other described historical documents which detailed the construction of another monolithic weapon the likes of the Star Forge. Star Maps of Rakatan origin were slowly pieced together before its location was finally uncovered on the forest world of Generis. This information managed to reach Imperial Security Bureau of the New Imperial Order which later included the Imperial Force Corps, commonly referred to as the 'Imperial Knights' or 'Knights of the Empire' into the investigation as it was deemed an issue of importance to their field of expertise. Similarly, the existence of the Crucifixion Engine later reached the eyes of the Galactic Alliance's 'Security Intelligence Agency' and Sith Imperial 'ORDIS', resulting in a assault on the ancient temple complex it was rumored to be located within at the time of the New imperial offensive into the Atrivis Sector.
