Ben was still getting acquainted with his role within the Eternal Empire. He had been in many positions of power across many different organizations, corporations and factions, yet the Eternal Empire seemed to be the most intriguing and mysterious. There were many boxes in his office that were left to be unpacked. Hundreds of confidential files he had accrued from his time within the Zweihander Union. While the title was new, his role was quite similar to that within the Zweihander Union. Most would see it as a demotion, leader of a sovereign nation to deputy director of a secret organization. Ben was quite comfortable however, and was extremely thankful for the Eternal Empire to receive him and offer him a high placement within the bureaucratic structure.

His day to day operations was more administrative than physical. Paperwork, paperwork, oversee the occasional execution of a branded traitor or terrorist. It was simple work really. Today however, he would be meeting with a contract mercenary who went by the codename of "Tempest". Ben didn't know what it signified, nor did he care. He didn't remember half the people he met, it would just be another come and go mercenary. He heard the knock at the door, something he had come to forget, "Come in."

You know aside from using those fancy sith darts to rob himself of Force Sensitivity for a time, this was quite fun. Walking through the Eternal Empire's halls, flying their space, drinking on the money they gave him. He missed this life, he really did... more than he had the pride to say aloud. Try as he might though, that elation to work translated into a highly noticeable pep in his step, where he was practically skipping like a giddy school child at times. The escort walking behind him, to ensure he didn't do something stupid, almost seemed annoyed at him and his behavior by this point... only letting him get on with it out of commitment to their job. Once he got to the office of the man acting as employer, they seemed too excited to be rid of him for a while as he knocked, and was granted entry.

He opened the door, closing it behind him as he entered. The crisp, clear, modulated voice he'd designed for his cover did nothing to hide his amusement as he commented, "Oh my, still moving in? I do hope you didn't lose your undies in the move. That would be too embarrassing!" He allowed himself a genuine laugh at the idea. The director of an intelligence agency going without spare undies was simply too amusing to resist a chuckle. Regardless of if Ben returned the laugh, Darlyn turned his mirror covered head around, taking a good look for anything of interest, before wandering over to the nearest medals, picking one up and turning it over in his hand out of idle curiosity.

"So what's it going to be today then? Lost puppy, need me to go spook someone? Help unpacking your office so you don't look like the inside of a shipping facility?"

Ben looked up at the man who entered and nodded. He looked at the chair opposite of him and frowned. He got up to clear the chair of boxes. "Haha. It's not like i'm living here. Just paperwork i'm afraid." He gestured to the now empty chair, "Please have a seat if you don't mind." He watched as the man picked up a medal he was awarded when he was promoted to Grand Admiral. It seemed so long ago. "No, it's a bit more serious than that, if you can handle it." While Ben would've criticized the man for his childish behavior, he was simply too tired nor in the mood for such dialogue.

"Paperwork, two words that were a mistake to put together." He laughed, nodding along at the Deputy Director's words as he put the medal down. Quick to reply in jest in kind, yet swift to the point, he could appreciate the former more than the latter. Yet he quickly seemed to suggest Darlyn wasn't able to handle anything serious, another jest, or a plea to get to business. Well if that's how Ben wanted to do it, Darlyn could humour him. He took his seat, and leaned back heavily in it, just polite enough to not put his boots up on the man's desk. "Oh I'm sure I can handle whoever, or whatever, the mark is. Short of something ridiculous like a grand master, we should be able to find a suitable price." Was Darlyn playing a role? Perhaps, perhaps this was just a magnification of the way he'd always been. Whatever the case, poor Deputy Director Craig was today's audience.

Ben smiled as the man sat down, a bit comfortably. The man seemed to be around Ben's age yet acted as if he were still in his teens. Some people just never grow old. He thought to himself. He folded his hands and replied, "The mark in question isn't a who, it's a what. Recently, a local gang attacked one of our convoys containing a package."

He reached over to one of his drawers to open it. He took out a shiny datapad and slid it across the desk to Darlyn. "This should contain all your instructions. Retrieve the package from the gang. The package in question is a small briefcase. I can not disclose the contents of the case. The package is located within their hideout." Ben closed the drawer and grinned, "While normally we would just send one of our units over to take care of this, we don't want this to trace back to us. Payment will be delivered upon completion." He leaned back, "Questions?"

Darlyn caught the datapad as it slid over, listening to Mr. Craig while he turned the datapad over and around in his hands. No obvious tricks, trackers, etc. Nothing he could see at least, though he supposed as long as he wasn't stupid it wouldn't matter either way. No, better to do it just to be certain it wasn't some well disguised explosive, something he knew more than enough about to be sure of the device's safety. Or at least, a lack of true threat. The situation brought a smile to his lips though, a local gang was enough to pester the Empire? Perhaps it was intended, to find a reason to eliminate them, or perhaps they lacked the ability to tend to their convoy's security themselves. He'd be certain to figure that out himself later.

When he asked if Darlyn had questions, he pocketed the datapad, sitting up and forward. There was no way he could hide the excitement in his voice, as he asked a very simple question. "Do you care if any of these criminal scum live, or shall I consider it open season?" While he wasn't certain to these people being criminals, and not rebels, the plausible deniability was enough for him to enjoy the coming storm.

While the man seemed childish at first, it appeared he was down to get business. He surely looked like he could take care of the job. Ben smiled at the man's obvious excitement, his childness behavior taking over once more. "Entirely up to you. However like I said before. I don't want any of this being traced back to the Empire. Be completely discreet. The scum deserve what they get." He stared boringly into the man's eyes, looking for any signs of weakness before continuing, "We have a vast arsenal of advanced weaponry. If you like, you're welcome to gear up for the operation."

"You don't want it traced right?" He stared back through the mask at Craig, the mirror reflecting his face, distorting it. "I think mine will do just fine. Nothing like a shattergun for keeping things on the down low anyways." HE made to stand up, but paused a moment. There was one thing, though, that he hadn't brought with him. "That said, you wouldn't happen to have a spare sword would you? I'm sure a sword won't be easily traced, compared to your 'advanced' weaponry." Regardless of response, now was when Darlyn stood up, ready to be escorted to said sword and out, or simply out of the building. Mr Craig had given him some reading material to go through before getting the party started, and the way his trigger finger was naturally curling, twitching, he knew the anticipation was getting to him.

"No, no trace. Sounds good." Ben watched as the man stood up, "We have some stealth sword variants you can choose from. I'll have someone take you to our armory and hook you up with something you'll like." He smiled as the man left and was escorted out.

Darlyn nodded, following the guards to the armory. All these fancy blades, Darlyn looked and studied each and every one of them, testing the balance, and putting it away dissatisfied. Was everything mandated to be overly complicated for what he needed? These weren't lightsabers or sith blades, they were just normal, steel, infantry swords. He was about to call it quits, when he found a perfectly normal straight sword. He picked it up, and gave it a few test swings. It almost felt like the ones used to practice lightsaber dueling, a perfect balance for him. His choice made, he sheathed the blade and attached it to his hip, before following the troops out.

Once he was on his way, he took the opportunity to review the datapad. Every bit of information it had, and plot exactly how he planned to go about this. He could go in quiet, or hit them hard and fast. Either way would produce the same results in the end, he'd have to fight his way out if he snuck in after all. And there was no point in half-and-half strategies, not without the Force. Speaking of, he dug another dart into his leg to prolong the effects, and sighed in discomfort. This was going to hurt, a lot.

On arrival, he found a discreet place to observe the mark, and make his choice.

"Let's go! Move it move it!." They had scored big. Some sort of bioweapon agent they snatched off of an Eternal Empire convoy. The operation wasn't easy. They had suffered severe casualties, but the reward was big, or so they hoped. The gang had no use for a bioweapon capable of mass destruction. They weren't terrorists, just simple folk working against a tyrannical government. A rebellion. Revolutionaries. They would most likely contact one of their representatives within terrorist organizations or enemies of the Empire to purchase the weapon. Credits were credits after all.

The compound was not glamorous. The gang operated out of a moderately sized abandoned warehouse located in the more corrupt district. Full of scum and the low of the low, violence and death was a common sight. Here, everyone carried a weapon. There were two entrances with several guards outside near campfires enjoying the heat. Near them were swoop bikes and hover trucks neatly parked in rows. Within the compound were several rooms of varying sizes. A gambling room, equipment room, considerably sized conference room, alongside some others. The gang had invested heavily in the decor within the warehouse. Several exquisite paintings hung off the freshly painted walls. Fake plants adorned the entrances with a desk in the center of the larger central room, resembling that of a receptionist room. There were two floors. The package was located on the second floor within a locked safe in the "boss's" room.

Well then, he had a plan now. Best to get to it.

HE wished the mask could come off so he could take a swig from his flask but, alas, he had to keep perfect cover entirely through this. The identity cover, that was... though he planned to get through this as quietly as possible. He couldn't see any way into the warehouse hideout that wasn't attached to the building itself, but funnily enough the fact that he saw the guards by the fire gave him the perfect thought. By now it was the early portions of a night shift, and post celebration to boot, which meant soon they would not be in the right mindset to watch carefully. He had also noted that there were other tall, somewhat dilapidated buildings in this warehouse area, buildings near the warehouse itself.

He opted to spend more time waiting, letting the guards become relaxed, watching them, waiting for nightfall (if it wasn't dark already) until finally he put his plan into place. Under the cover of darkness, he moved swiftly, getting to the aforementioned buildings, and listening carefully. With luck they should have fallen into routine, and begun to chatter, or otherwise lose focus on their jobs. Once he heard them, and confirmed if they sounded relaxed, he began his ascent. Climbing up what seemed to be another storage warehouse, until reaching the very top of the building. He didn't hear any guards, and moved quietly to the edge closest to the hideout building. They were just far enough apart that this would be rough, but there was a couple things on his side.

For one, as he prepared the cablewire he would use to cross, he knew they had a low likelihood of looking up. People wouldn't often do that for no reason, which meant as long as he didn't hit anyone they probably wouldn't do anything. For two, as he began to throw the grappling cable wire across the gap... he had a decently good luck. EVidently so, in fact, as the little grappling hook caught on the other building, and he gave it slow tugs to ensure it was tight and secure. The other end was attached securely to the abandoned building he was currently on, and then for the real worrying bit.

He held onto the wire with both his hands and his legs, and began to slowly traverse over the grounds. HE wouldn't pass over the guards directly of course, and with darkness there should be no shadows, but he could still feel the pressure as he made his way across, praying they continued the normal person trend of not looking up....

It was getting darker, but it was not night yet. A slight breeze began to drift through the air. The guards moved closed towards the fire, back to the warehouse. They chatted about various things. The Empire, recent raids they had conducted, women back home. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Small critters scoured the area for food. The guards inside finished their routine security checks before joyfully heading to the back room where they would gamble their hearts away.

NO one looked up, perfect. That meant he could get close before things went south, which meant this was going to be easy. He crept over to the nearest observation point directly into the building, one of the windows, and managed to sneak a quick peek inside without falling, or making himself too visible. Everyone seemed to be heading back, or most of them, which he supposed meant it was time to unwind. Perfect, more distractions. And better yet, they were going beyond a door without a view of the window he was at.

There were three devices on his suit perfect for this, a security blade, emp device, and security field disruptor. He took the time to study what he could through the window, and selected the one best suited to the window itself, as well as any cameras beyond it out of his view. Surely the window would have some kind of trip alarm, but the use of one of these devices would certainly disable it without tripping the device, as the device itself would cease functioning. Similarly, they could unlock any magnetic locks holding the window in place.

It took a couple of minutes to get right, but eventually he was confident anything short of a top of the line security system should be disabled, and he pushed the window open slowly. Just enough for him to get through, before carefully climbing down through it, and landing on the upper floor. Now, where to go?

He considered that it was a warehouse, and began to quietly as possible move towards the location of the overseer's office, which if nothing else should help him narrow it down.

No one heard Darlyn enter. Security Cameras had been ordered the day before and were scheduled to arrive and be installed today, but lucky for Darlyn, there was a riot at the distribution center. The wind was picking up forcing guards outside to leave the fire and go inside for a drink. Two abit unhappy chosen by the rest stayed outside guarding the entrance. Those that went inside went to the bar located on the first floor.
