SETTING INFORMATION
- Structure Name: The Corellia Digital Building
- Classification: Private Residence/Laboratory Workshop
- Location: Meccha, Drall
- Affiliation: Corellia Digital Corporation; [member="Sor-Jan Xantha"]
- Accessibility: Isolated away from civilization, the Corellia Digital Building was located outside the metropolitan limits of the city of Meccha. The structure dominated a cliffside vista that overlooked the Boiling Sea. A landing pad was available for use by visitors to the compound.
- Description: A large mansion on the Boiling Sea, the Corellia Digital Building was the focal point of a compound that extended both within and above a cliff face vista. A landing field located south of the main building serviced the location, while a pathway guided speeder traffic from the compound toward the nearby city of Meccha. The building was partitioned into three major internal divisions: the upper residential apartment, the entertaining parlor, and the lower workshop.
POINTS OF INTEREST
- Residential Apartment (Upper Floor): Being both a youngling and a Jedi Master can be difficult to reconcile. On the one hand, Sor-Jan wants to play. On the other, he's expected to be both mature and meditative. Particularly when he's leading one of the galaxy's largest technology conglomerates, there's great pressure for him to be more the Warrior or Sage than the Kid. The residence on Drall allows him an opportunity to get away from the expectations of his title and return to his roots. As such, the apartment incorporates as varied a style as the small Anzat does. There's a game room for him to play, as well as a library of obscure and arcane historical texts in which he can find quiet and meditate. A small, secondary kitchen services this floor exclusively.
- Foyer & Entertaining (Ground Floor). Originally used as the administration and offices for the company, today the foyer of the Corellia Digital Building opens up to open parlors with sweeping views of the Boiling Sea. Serviced by a large kitchen that boasts restaurant grade, commercial appliances, this space is predominantly used for entertaining guests, hosting social functions on behalf of the company, and private gatherings of the Board of Directors. A small museum featuring various artifacts of the company's history is located on this floor, along with a holo-arcade that is used for play testing Corellia Digital hologame releases.
- Research & Development Facility (Basement and Sublevels): Recessed into the cliff and the foundation of the building, this workshop was originally used as the primary manufacturing point when Sor-Jan Xantha took over the company in 844 ABY. Today, it functions as a workshop where Sor-Jan can test out designs and different ideas.
- Landing Pad. The area directly south of the mansion was reserved for use by shuttles and other transports arriving from off-world. A YT-2400 light freighter was located here, though had not seen use in several years.
- Zen Garden/Pool Deck. A meditative garden and a firepit were located here, for personal reflection or use entertaining outdoors in good weather. A pool deck was located adjacent to the garden.
SECURITY
Low. As a private residence on the planet Drall, the Corellia Digital Building relied upon Corellian Security Forces for protection. Z-58-0 model security droids patrolled the exterior, though were the only active safeguard. Passive security measures included biometric locks and computer passcodes to prevent intruders from being able to access the company network from a terminal inside the house. Several KX-series security droids were located inside of the residence, though were ordinarily inactive inside of the droid corral unless disturbed by input from either the external patrols or an activation signal from within the home.
In 34 BBY, when Corellia Digital was still a relatively young company, benefiting from a "dotcom rush" with the development and introduction of a revolutionary datacard, one of the principle engineers used his earnings to carve out a home on the pastoral world of Drall. Intended to do much of his own research and development there, he built a mansion from the ground up, and an enviable computer lab from the ground below. Over time, the mansion fell into the possession of the company, and was used notably to host the annual shareholders meeting. The computer labs were used to highlight and showcase developments and prototypes during those annual meetings, but the building itself faded into relative obscurity among the company's other holdings. In the aftermath of Corellia's destruction, it became the only Corellia Digital facility off-world that wasn't just a storefront.
In 844 ABY, the Corellia Digital company came into the possession of [member="Sor-Jan Xantha"]. Striking out to rebuild Corellia's economy, he made use of the building as the new headquarters for a resurgent Corellia Digital. Landing critical contracts with Sasori Research and the Silver Jedi for communications support, the company quickly became a leading employer in the town of Meccha. Additional contracts with Lucerne Labs and the Kathol Republic saw the company expand to Selonia, Talus, and Tralus. During this time, the company opened both Corellia Defense on Lakia and Corell Financial on Druckenwell, propelling the company into intergalactic status.
By 858 ABY, the company had grown beyond the terrestrial limits of any one planet, being composed of four separate corporate entities operating multiple divisions across a myriad of industries, markets, and sectors. Because of this, the company had shifted to mobile basing for its headquarters in the Star Destroyer Intervention. Major shipbuilding shifted to orbital facilities at Selonia and Laekia, while manufacturing shifted to factories on Talus and Tralus. As a result, the residence on Drall reverted back to its original status as an escape for the corporate executive.
