HYPERLANE CHARACTERISTICS
- Speed: Low
- Like most routes within the Outer Rim, slower hyperspace speeds are recommended. Just because this route has been marked as generally safe to travel, there are still many unknown variables that could cause trouble for spacers.
- Accessibility:
- The Corellian Curve is an open route for spacers and travelers to use, but it is not that widely heard of. Outer Rim citizens known this name quite a bit as it connects the lower arm to the rest of the galaxy. Yet for the wider galaxy the route is pretty rare to be heard from.
- Route Hazards:
- In Order Along The Route
- Katha Belt, found within the Katha System
- While asteroids are more of an annoyance to spacers than a hazard, they can still be dangerous if you are not careful. The Katha Belt causes trouble for travelers trying to enter Hyperspace right after leaving the planet of Ra’Katha. Flying Sublight is very much suggested for this first part of the leg to ensure that a start asteroid won’t drift into a spacer’s path.
- The Reef - Near Lamaredd
- Much like the Katha Belt early on in the route, The Reef is another collection of asteroids thats purpose is to cause problems for travelers. Sublight speed is a must if you don’t want to risk dealing damage to your Hyperdrive. Careful and skillful flying is a must.
- Ion Storms - Near Avirr
- The Ion Storms of the Meh Uma system are very dangerous to anyone flying through the area. Those pirates with more courage and less intelligences can try to fly through these hazardous storms to save some time, but it is recommended that spacers just fly around the storm.
- Solar Storms - From the star Squall
- It should be common knowledge by now that flying near any star is a death wish, yet those rare few pilots are still learning their lesson the hard way. Whether you are entering the Providence System to land on Freehold, or you are leaving the same planet to connect with the Corellian Run, it is advised to chart a path that stays away from the supergiant star.
- Throughout The Route
- The Elysium Empire
- Not much is known about this large group that has appeared on the edge of the Outer Rim. While they have not shown much hostility towards travelers along the route, it is still advised to be cautious of them.
- The Exchange
- Dealers, slavers, smugglers, pirates, and everything in between. The Exchange has only just began to show its power in the Outer Rim, and some of this involves attacking innocent travelers. It is advised to stay as far away from any Exchange members if possible.
- Judges of the Outer Rim
- While most see the Judges as a blessing, others see them as curse. This group of force-sensitives that patrol the Outer Rim are known for keeping space lanes safe. That being said, if you have a bounty on your head or some illegal cargo in your hold, you best be prepared to deal with the punishment the Judges give.
- Pirates
- It seems that wherever you fly in the galaxy you will always seem to run into pirates. The Outer Rim is home to many of this type, so spacers should always keep a watchful eye.
- Purrgils
- As always, Purrgils continue to cause havoc and wreckage whenever they go. These large creatures have the ability to travel through hyperspace, so always be careful when traveling on the route.
- Rest Stops:
- Tor’s Station - Lamaredd
- Tor’s Station has always been known as a hive of scum and villain in the Outer Rim. Ever since the pirate took control of Bartyn’s Landing, the Quarren decided that it was time for a refit. The landing soon became his base of operations before eventually going back to its more spaceport roots. Though the station’s name is actually an incorrect telling of it’s founder’s name, Isquik Tors, the legacy of the infamous pirate still lives on. If you are forced to make a stop here, make sure you fuel up quick and leave even faster.
- Delta017 - Between Avirr And New Outback
- Delta017 has had its shared history of mining operations occupying the large asteroid. But over the years with more and more settlers trying to strike gold, literally, small towns began to appear all over. Eventually an artificial atmosphere bubble was constructed to allow for a more permanent residence. A mid-sized spaceport allows for travelers to quickly stop and refuel, mainly when they are flying the route back up into the Corellian Run.
- Fellow Spacers
- It is not uncommon to find a spacer on the route that is willing to let you dock on their large ship. This area used to be OPA territory, and so they know all about this lane and where to travel. Just don’t forgot to drop them a few credits afterwards.

DESCRIPTION
For as long as the route has been around, the name has troubled spacers from all corners of the galaxy.
Despite the name “Corellian Curve”, the hyperlane is actually nowhere near the heavily-populated planet. The name comes from the larger parent route: the Corellian Run. And the curve part of the name, well, that is self explanatory.
When the Outer Planets Alliance, better known as the OPA, were in a time of heavy expansion they contracted for a route to be charted that could connect the Rimma Trade Route with worlds in the Southern Arm, such as New Outback, Port Mynock, and Freehold. Hiring famed Hyperspace navigator Atlas Drake, along with a group of explorers, they took the journey to add these planets to the OPA’s list of allied systems.
Atlas had originally called the route the Guarlarashoe Trail, as named for the iron shoes worn by the Guarlara. These animals had been transported to the planet Orto Plutonai some 500 years ago. The planet’s star served as a key navigational point as it let travelers know that they should start looping around to reach the arm.
While Atlas would still be remembered for charting more popular routes, such as the Starbird Trade Spine, the Guarlarashoe Trail would start to become lost with time as the OPA began to lose its control of the ever-wild Outer Rim. Eventually the route would turn into somewhat of a spacers tale in cantinas. A hidden route that leads to the far edge of the Southern Arm. Trade among the Southern Arm would also start to cease.
All of these tales were finally confirmed when legendary navigator Jorus Merrill revisited the trail while traveling through the Outer Rim on a scouting mission. Working off of the already charted Corellian Run, Jorus would find a way to connect the Super-Hyperlane to the final section of the Guarlarashoe Trail. This brought popularity back to these Southern Arm planets while also expanding trade with the Outer Rim.
Now the route provides a somewhat-safe route to these far out worlds, connecting them to the large trade Hyperlane that is the Corellian Run. This also, unfortunately, has made it so pirates and other crime bosses can start doing more business in the Core Worlds, which is something that every needs less of.
