Where civilized space has Jedi Knights, the Outer Planets Alliance has the Judges. Like the Wardens of the Sky, the Judges roam the space lanes and keep a low profile, guarding the frontier against raiders and tyrants. The Judges carry legendary guns alongside their light sabres, and pilot tramp freighters instead of sleek fighters. You’re more likely to see a Judge in a dusty coat than anything like Jedi robes.
These are the main "Jedi" of OPA, most of PC and NPC force users that you will meet in OPA territories will be these law men and women. Those who choose this path will hold ranks such as Deputy, Sheriff, and Marshal.
Before there were Judges or the Coalition or even an organized Underground, there were Wardens of the Sky. The outer rim's original protectors, Wardens operate throughout the galaxy keeping spacelanes safe for everyone. They are masters of blending in as ordinary spacers, and specialize in a unique mixture of Force techniques and advanced martial arts. Wardens are the bane of pirates and a smuggler's best friend.
Wardens are optimal for those PCs who don't really fit in on the typical Jedi/Sith spectrum. They share many similar qualities to the Judges but have their own unique canon and site lore to draw from as well as a focus on more esoteric skills like instinctive navigation, mechu-deru and Force enhanced unarmed combat.
Once they were great lords of men, reigning over the Unknown Regions with an iron fist. Now their line is all but extinguished, yet a proud few carry on the Fringe's legacy as monster hunters and occasionally hired guns. Anyone who has spent enough time on the rim knows that terrors abound, and there is good coin to be made in exterminating abominable wildlife or vengeful darkside spirits. They are deeply mistrusted both by the people and other Force practitioners, for it is rumored they experiment on their own physiology with dark arts to help themselves become the ultimate beast slayers.
Hunters draw heavily from influences such as the Witcher and Monster Hunter series, as well as incorporating some old faction lore from a badass previous resident of the region. Once your kind held mastery over vast swathes of space, but now Hunters are a scattered few forced to ply a most dangerous trade.
A group of nomadic Jedi who belong to no council, no order, and serve no government, the Circle travels far and wide through the galaxy, as directed by the Force. Even by Jedi standards, they are minimalists, working without support from the broader order, without issued equipment, and most often, without carrying lightsabers, as they make one too easily recognizable as a Jedi. They act in subtle, often invisible ways, before disappearing once again into the vastness of the galaxy, leaving nothing but a story of a helpful traveler in their wake. As such, they follow the Path of the Light Hand, a set of rules and principles set down by Tiland Kortun to encapsulate their philosophy.
The only group on Chaos to focus entirely on that monk life, the Light Hand is ideal for martial arts enthusiasts and anyone who enjoys a good Bruce Lee movie. Some of the most veteran teräs käsi practitioners on the site number among their ranks, and there is no better place to learn techniques like flaming fists and mastering chi.
Before the formation of the Outer Planets Alliance, the Enclave of Svivren served the needs of both the Je’daii and the Jedi Order of the Galactic Republic, and suffered a grievous attack by the One Sith Empire that would leave the facility in ruins for some years to follow.
Today, the Enclave stands vigil once more as a functioning locale for Students and Followers of the Jedi Path; rebuilt and fully refurbished by House Arenais for the future of citizens of the Outer Rim.
Though the Enclave is small, their mission is simple. To provide any and all assistance to the good people of the Outer Rim, to empower the lives of those in need, and to encourage a sense of justice in a vast and seemingly lawless expanse of space.
In number, they are few; and it is a vast undertaking that the Jedi of Svivren strive to uphold. They have no sizeable Navy, and there are no soldiers working under them. These are simply good people, doing the best that they can with the training they’ve been provided, hoping to make a difference in the lives of those around them.
A secretive splinter sect of the ancient Jedi Order, for thousands of years Jensaarai Knights lived in complete isolation on Susefvi, incorporating some ancient Sith philosophy and doctrine as their teachings began to regress but with a decidedly lightside bent. Though they stand for the same values as any sworn defender of the innocent, in battle they fight like the Sith of old in heavy warplate and wielding greatsabers. Under the direction of their Saarai-kaar, the Enclave has found new purpose as sworn protectors of the Coalition's ORION Network, a web of ghost sites and expert slicers that keep Underground operations safe and informed.
The Jensaarai are the ultimate medieval knight fantasy for lightsiders, incorporating a more aggressive Sith-inspired military doctrine and plenty of occult ritual. They are particularly good for defensive minded PCs, since they are known far more as guardians and protectors than warmongers.
