Finally, he was back on Courscant.

He'd spent a lot of time on New Cov recently and had been upon many adventures. He'd provided Braze Kai'el Braze Kai'el with his answer and been to numerous lessons during his time at the enclave upon the jungle world. Whilst it had been an interesting experience and a great chance to see a new planet and a new enclave, he was happy to be home.

The first thing he'd done upon his return to Courscant was sleep. He'd returned to his quarters within the Courscant Jedi Temple and had done nothing but sleep and relax. He'd learned that a Jedi couldn't always be on the go, it was important to take time out to decompress and spend time alone.

Once he'd slept, he spent time freshening up and getting changed into some simple yet loose fitting gear. He realised it had been a long time since he'd been for a run, especially since the run he'd planned on New Cov had been interupted by Braze Kai'el Braze Kai'el leaving a note on his door and he really fancied a run.

So he set off. His pace was gentle and steady, especially as he left the temple and headed out into the city of Courscant. He wasn't entirely sure where his run would lead him, but it was nice to be out and he was happy to just let the force and the typical street closures of Courscant decide for him.

He was just happy to be in the fresh air.

“Pure Sabaac,” Delain spoke as she laid down her cards. “Pot’s all mine.”

“No!” Shouted an angry Weequay, who'd just gone all in on the bet.

It was Delain’s third of the night, and she was only getting started. The young woman had been running low on funds, and decided to find her next burst of income. She'd found it at Ol’ Jabir’s, a spacer-oriented casino and bar in Coruscant’s mid levels. It wasn’t a high end establishment, and it's rowdy patrons were just the crowd Delain liked playing. Drunk and stupid. Even when they got angry, it was easy enough to calm them with a round of drinks.

The staff, of course, was a different matter.

“Ma’am,” a suited Twi’lek approached. “Could you please come with me?”

Never something you wanted to hear from security. Particularly not as two more security guards stood behind him, both obviously concealing blasters. Their reason for asking her to come aside was clear, they thought she was cheating. No one should have the luck Delain did.

Of course, she had that luck. She couldn't claim she'd never cheated, but the gambler could honestly say she didn't remember ever cheating. She didn't need to, things just tended to work in her favor. At least, materially. It wouldn't take long for the House to suspect something was up, just as had happened here.

But Delain chose not to give up all her earnings.

She took off running, a fistful of credits in one hand and the other pushing aside the startled patron in front of her. The doors shunted open, and she took off into the night, shouts dying down behind her.

Every step was made with purpose.

His pace was steady, just right. He wasn't sprinting but he was definitely moving quicker than a walk. His speed was probably best described as a fairly quick jog. Every so often, his Padawan braid and the little green gem tied to it would bounce off his shoulder and remind him of everything he'd achieved in the last few weeks.

Courscant blurred past him as he lost himself in his run. He was at peace and he was content, for the first time since he'd left Kiffu all of those years ago. He'd gone from being so focused on one goal that now he'd achieved that goal he wasn't quite sure what to do next.

It was nice to have time to think, just be alone with his thoughts. Whilst Courscant went on around him, he hardly noticed. He was going to learn and focus and be the best student he could for Braze Kai'el Braze Kai'el and he was finally starting on the path to be a Jedi Knight.

Maybe that was the next goal?

He smiled to himself as he kept running, one foot in front of the other with pace. He'd already learned how to control a ship whilst with Braze and they'd already been to Ilum together. They were barely scratching the surface of what he would be learning and already he was satisfied.

Then it all came tumbling down, because of course it did. His bliss and peace during his little jog was interupted as multiple figures came bounding out of a local casino to his left. There was a girl in front, followed by what looked to be two very angry security guards.

Usually, something like this would be an issue for local authorities and he would have left it for them to deal with but he was the area. The peace would most definitely be breached if he didn't act and the role of a Jedi was to ensure that the peace was kept, after all.

He took off at speed after the girl, hoping all of his focus on running would benefit him and give him the advantage he needed. He did however have his new ability of Force Speed in his back pocket, the power that Grandmaster Valery Noble had taught on New Cov.

Heart pounding, Delain's feet thundered under her as she bolted down the street. A pair of guards kept up a short, but ultimately futile pursuit after the young woman. There was however the problem of another man who'd picked up the chase. Shoving a fistful of credits into her pockets, the gambler darted down an alley.

Whoever this guy was, he was fast. Delain strained as she sprinted, stretching each footfall as far as she could. Near top speed, her lungs strained with each breath. The stranger was gaining quickly, and already the distance between the pair had halved.

Desperate, Delain dipped down another alley, stumbling as she went. One foot caught on another, and down she went. Landing hard, her breath left her lungs in a pained gasp. Desperately gulping down more breaths, the young woman scrambled into a sitting position, arms raised defensively.

“I didn't steal anything! I won it fair and s
quare!”

She absolutely bit the dust.

Kaelos both winced and let out a laugh at the same time as she hit the floor with some decent impact. The young Kiffar quickly glanced his eyes over her and did a quick Force assisted medical assessment just to ensure there were no serious injuries and he wasn't laughing like a monster.

"Relax" he said calmly upon his approach, noticing her hands had shot up defensively. "No-one said you stole anything. Honestly, I don't even know what happened" he added on the end as some honesty. He still wasn't entirely sure what had happened in the casino and the two somewhat overweight security guards were no-where near to give him some information.

He'd found something else during his Force scan of her though, something interesting.

"Look, we've proven that I can outrun you pretty easily" he acknowleged with a slight proud smile. "Do me a favour and don't try and run again. Force Healing isn't a skill I'm great with so if you end up with another injury worse than a grazed knee, I'm no use" he said with a slight chuckle.

There was hope that his fairly traditional Jedi dress would be recognisable to the female and would allow him to show a little bit of authority. The two security guards could be heard thudding their way down the road. They'd taken their time, that was for sure.

"THIEF" one of them screamed as he rounded the corner before catching a glance of Kaelos. "THEIF...Oh.. ugh... Master Jedi. This one she ugh... stole a load of credits from us... sorry for shouting at you" he managed to get out between forced breaths. Kaelos was slightly worried the man was about to keel over in front of him.

"I don't think so" Kaelos commented, his tone light. It was like he was questioning something. He cast his eyes over to Delain Revela Delain Revela briefly. He offered her his hand to help her back to her feet whilst he spoke. "Why don't you start with your name and a brief explaination of what happened in there whilst these two catch their breath?"
