Description: Throughout the centuries the ruling family of Panatha and it's Kingdom was protected by royal guards who would lay down their lives for the safety and security of the royal family, specially bred warriors made to fulfill that one purpose for the rest of their lives. When Kaine Zambrano descended upon the Shadowcaller palace with an invading force of well over 500,000, the royal guards were the first to cut down any invader that had managed to bypass the royalist army and infiltrate the palace grounds. However; all members of the Shadowcaller Royal Guard were annihilated when the castle was ultimately destroyed by a bombardment of artillery fire that leveled the entire structure and everything around it, and any that survived the barrage were cut down by the usurper's minions.

So, when Kaine took the throne of Panatha and crowned himself both King of Panatha and the Emperor of a greater Panathan dominion, he was bereft of a dedicated royal guard. Still, for years since he took the throne he relied on his personal army, the Blackblade Guard, to guard the upper reaches of his castle. But, despite their expertise they were ill suit to act as guardsman, and failed to prevent the Emperor's death at the hands of [member="Kiskla Grayson"] within the walls of his own castle. The castle was then demolished, and it's ruins were left to decay on the hellish plateau upon which it was constructed.

Though even death could not stop the Sith Lord, and in the aftermath of Akala's attack on both the living and the dead he returned from beyond the veil to wreak havoc upon the galaxy once again. Reconsidering the prospect of a dedicated personal guard, Kaine called upon the Shadowguard of the deceased Sith, Kära Vi'dreya, and reformed them into the Panathan Royal Guardians of the Imperial Crown, commonly referred to as the Imperial Crownguard outfitted with the superior armament gifted to them by their previous master, and further armed with vibroweapons such as the vibro double-blade and the vibro-ax.

Not typically, they're way more melee-oriented than anything else.

However; they can use a gun should they get their hands on one, but otherwise they stick with their current weapons.
