DESCRIPTION
Bladed weapons existed since the ancient creatures across the Galacy unlocked the secrets of forging metal. Thus, it wasn’t surprising that martial cultures, most notably the Mandalorians, had taken a liking to such weapons - making them an intrisintic part of their collective society. Not only for their ability to take a life, but to serve the needs of the Warrior when off the battlefield as well, helping them survive amongst the uncaring Stars. It was a tool that encompassed the true duality of life; where the honed edge(s) that could sever another’s mortal coil, could also be used to safe another’s life. Either by defending another from the hostility of an enemy, or by taking what nutrients they needed from the world around them. While such items weren’t required to defend what one loves, to take the lives of others - they certainly made it easier.

So, with that ancient concept in hand, the Forgemasters of the Death Watch sought to recreate the infamous Kal Dagger to fully outfit their Warriors. There was little known about the Kal, as it’s use wasn’t as well documented as their larger cousin - the Beskad. However, what was known, was that the Kal Dagger was used as a weapon of last resort. Drawn from it’s sheathe in the heat of the moment when all else seemed lost. There were also other uses of that ancient weapon - which ranged from being used as a secondary weapon when the Beskad was brandished, or used to draw blood from an armoured palm when an unbreakable oath needed to be sworn. Regardless of it’s use - the Forgemasters wanted their weapon to act as a smaller version of their Crusader’s sabre. Effectively doubling their Warrior’s martial prowess in close quarters whenever they were engaged by the enemy.

This meant that the Kal Dagger would be wholly upgraded from the ground up - including the materials that were used to forge them. With the limited resources they had to spare, the Death Watch elected to use what Carbon-Durasteel they had remaining to replace the Beskar that their traditional weapons called for. With this metal serving as their structural foundation, the Kal Dagger would then be upgraded to serve as a multipurpose weapon that would not only be able to cut through a plethora of materials with relative ease, but also be capable of countering the plasmatic lethality of a Jedi’s lightsabre. Both aspects could even be combined, for a time, as their functionalities would severely drain the weapon’s power source - but the boons gained by such a deed were immense.

With both this Dagger and the Crusader’s sabre in hand - the Warriors of the Death Watch would be capable of dominating the battlefield. Not only with their impressive martial feats, garnered from a lifetime of training, but the Dagger would allow them to do more things that the length and reach of their sabre wouldn’t allow for. The flash of plasmatic steel in the dark can sometimes do more than the sword on the battlefield. So, both options needed to available to this newest generation of Neo-Crusaders, as they needed to be adaptable in the face of uncertainty and overwhelming odds since the Galaxy was filled to the brim with both.

Thus, with this Kal Dagger in hand - the Warriors of the Death Watch and their Crusade would tame the untameable, and restore their stolen legacy at the edge of a fighting knife.
