The Crux of the Matter

3 Days after the Incident

I do not like to rush things. Rushing things hurts business, and makes people anxious about the entire deal. I do not want people to get anxious, and neither do I want my business to hurt. But after the Black Hex incident, I realised I had to change up my schedule. I was working on the long con, but people in the Galaxy didn’t have the same patience as I did.

Not too surprising, most of them hadn’t died once already and came back not much more worse for the wear. Life wasn’t an ending-factor for me anymore, I wasn’t afraid of taking things slowly. Taking my time to see my plans come to fruition.

But sometimes you gotta do things quickly. Sometimes you gotta take chances. I had told [member="Alli Wren"] that I wished to speak to her about a business opportunity, a proposal that might change a lot in the grand scheme of things. I had planned on setting a date later this month, or maybe the month after.

Something changed though. It was more of a feeling, it had nothing to do with the Force. Just some kind of.. weariness in my body, which made me rethink.

And so here we were. I sat behind the table in my office on 244Core. Times immemorial, Santhe Corporation has been associated with Lianna. That would never change, but with me spending so much time in Confederation space.. well you gotta take priorities.

The Lady Wren had already been escorted into my office, and sat in front of me. I waited a second or two, for her to catch her bearings. Let her relax a bit, then I finally spoke.

“My Lady Wren, I hope your journey was uneventful? Please tell me you didn’t get into any trouble after the whole Black Hex-incident.”

It was funny thing but she had done things with Santhe ages ago. The former CEO was much better looking then its current. Alli didn't normally answer invitations but after the fiasco of their last meeting she figured it was the least she could do. She smiled and sat, her signature Black skin tight suit on. Her smile turning to a smirk. It was curious after all, what would he want to discuss, perhaps build more things. After all their former agreement had come up with some droid starfighters that still were unmatched in Droid control. She supposed she should answer him, after all he did ask her a question.

" Of course not, Being a member of the Techno Union has its advantages, and thus I tied up all the loose ends outside my station. So what did you want to discuss, as I figured I was the last one you would want to talk to considering how business went last time. To which I can say at least my security paid off. "

Alli looked around the office trying to figure out what sort of man Jared Ovmar was. You could tell a lot about a person by their office. Hers for instance was ostentatious built to show she had wealth and could afford to spend it. She after all loved to show off.

Looking around the office, the Lady Wren would notice an office of sobriety. The walls were plain white, undecorated. Upon further inspection, she would notice a single bookcase filled to the brim with.. well books.

There was only one thing Jared was proud of, a huge window located behind his back. Which gave him a splendid view of the Skyline of 244Core. The office, all in all, was a perfect copy of the one in Lianna.

“My dear, that business was ugly, indeed. But in the end it turned well, I got my ship and you got yours. Nobody got hurt. Why would I keep a grudge for something you had no control over anyway?”

And I meant it. It wasn’t like Wren knew her ex-wife was going to try and attack us. How she even found out about the meeting, was anyones guess.

Regardless, I nodded to Wren and then continued to the point of the meeting.

“The point of this meeting then. I’d like to propose a formal take-over of Baktoid Industries by my own entity and Santhe Corporation.”

I don’t like beating around the bush. If she was interested, she would ask for more details. Otherwise she would laugh it off, and then at least nobody was wasting anyones time.

Hell No! Was the first thought in Alli Wren's mind as she sat across from the man known as [member="Jared Ovmar"]. She tried to hide her disinterest and at least sound civil. After all she didn't want any burnt bridges. That never ended well, after all she worked hard to build those bridges. It was a slippery slope but the fact was she couldn't let her emotions control this deal, she needed to keep a clear head. Alli forced a smile and tried to keep it polite.

" I think you would be hard pressed to convince me to say yes to that proposal"

The problem was by staying here she was saying she was opening it but by leaving she would be offending the man. It was a delicate matter, takeover her company. Did he even have the capitol for such an takeover. Alli knew she was spread thin at the moment, but still she figured she owed the man at least a chance to hear him out. So the dance began, she thought looking at him observing him for reactions.
