The Dark Side of Serenno

james-paick-sci-fi-city-demo-03-copy.jpg
Serenno~Carannia City~2100 HRS
A soft rain fell over the city as Adron focused on the Dark Side of the Force. Focusing on keeping it at bay and maintaining his composure he was finding it easier to control the volatile power source. A soft exhale escaped him, he was beginning to wonder if there was any point to it? Was his actions now not a testament to him falling to the Dark Side?

Pulling his cowl over his head he decided against such thoughts. Everything he did was for the salvation of his people, and he would do whatever it took.

He had ordered [member="Anya Loma"] and [member="Cairyn Midore"] to join him on his mission for the night. Anya, whom his feelings for had only been growing, was perhaps the only person he trusted to join him in this venture. The young Sith was another story entirely.

He was young, reckless, and above all she seemed entirely too risky for a mission involving stealth. Yet the Archlord had his reasons for inviting the boy to his homeworld and enlisting his help, he had to see his abilities in the field.

"Anya, are you nearby?" He spoke into the comm device pressed against his ear, his arms crossed over his armored chest. The black cloak that flowed from him allowed his body to become enveloped in the darkness of the alley he stood in.

He awaited a reply from the woman, keeping an eye out for Cairyn as well.

[member="Adron Malvern"]

She might be a spirit of flames but she knew how to keep low...turns out her past of being a crazed murder did come to help she was moving through roof tops her hood up to keep the rain out

Adron trusted her to this mission, it only made her feel more honored that he trusted her, however she had heard about this...younger sith...he seemed like something she could whip into shape in no time...though first one must see what their working with before they improve

She stopped in a dark spot, she had adron with sight as she pressed the comm piece and spoke

closer then you think darling I have overwatch on ya right now

There was something about the rain, not heavy enough to be considered a storm yet not light enough to be deemed insignificant, that annoyed the child to no end. He'd tried blowing the rain-soaked hair out of his face once, twice, three times now, each with the same result. Temporary reprieve followed by the return to square one. What was that bit people used to say about insanity? Repeating the same action and expecting different results?

Nah, that couldn't be it.

With a shake of his head, he continued on his way through Carannia City. The idea that perhaps he should've gotten better directions to navigate with briefly crossed his mind and was promptly forgotten, his attention turning instead to the city's lights and how they reflected on his still relatively new armor.

It was quite some time before his wandering bore anything akin to success. The concept of punctuality wasn't one the Teevan quite had a grasp on, nor did he have any care to change that. When he did arrive, he couldn't quite discern if these were indeed the people he was supposed to meet with. With a blank expression, he stared up at the count, head cocked to the side at an angle that couldn't be comfortable.

"Are you this count person?"

[member="Adron Malvern"] [member="Anya Loma"]

"I feel as safe as can be, my dear." Adron called back to Anya before pulling his arms back over his chest.

It was not until a boy rounded the corner to the alley that Adron finally broke his silence. "Count Malvern, Cairyn isn't it? You operated with The Dominion a few times before. I have a small matter I could use some help with."

Placing his hand on the receiver to his commlink he reached out to Anya once again. "Anya, come join us." He said.

Awaiting for Anya to make her way over to the group Adron pulled his cloak off, revealing the sleek metallic armor that covered his body. His personal set of armor appeared almost nightmarish in this dark alley, making his form take one that would match the grim reaper. Once Anya joined them Adron gestured to a nearby skyscraper, pulling his cowl over his head. "Do you see that building over there? It's the corporate office for House Dooku's farming operations on this sector of the planet."

The Count shifted his shoulders slowly, trying to get a feel for the armor that he wore. "At least that's what they'd have you think. The first thirty or so floors are for their corporation, but the top three floor's are a private holding area for artifacts and technology that the House doesn't want...easily accessed."

"They have something in their top vault that is a danger to Serenno and I will see it removed. For obvious reasons I can't approach them about it, so we're just going to steal it." He said, tapping his finger over his armored bicep.

She sat her carefully before she nodded, she made her way around jumping from shadow to shadow before arriving above them and dropping down beside adron

She probably matched adron in his look, something spawned from hellfire and brimstone thst served desth himself a demoness of fire with her red eues stsrimg at the boy

She looked to the skyscraper listening to adron, it did indeed look quite like any other bit as he went in she frowned then grinned

sounds like this one shall be fun...think you can keep up kid

she said glancing to [member="Cairyn Midore"]

A wide smile claimed his features in such a way that it looked almost genuine. "Yep, that's my name, nice to meet'cha!" He gave a little bow as he spoke, arms flourishing out with a little flick of the wrist, each movement a hyperbole. "Now what kinda mission would you want lil ol' me for, county?"

He greeted Anya with the same grin and a bit of a wave. His own armor being of the more permanent sort, nearly his entire body was encased in Orbalisk exoskeleton. Probably not as intimidating as his fellows' wears, but the armor would serve him well or kill him trying. It was a hefty price he paid as the host to these parasites. He'd sacrificed his livelihood in exchange for protection, adrenaline, and more pets to have perpetually on his person. Definitely a fair trade.

Listening to Adron's explanation he grew less interested with this little mission at hand. Stealth? Yawn Thievery was all fun and games but if they were going to do that, they might as well go all out.

It was the woman's comment that kept him from backing out entirely. Who did she think he was, asking if he thought he could keep up, daring to refer to him as a child? He was far more that that, practically perfection. He entertained the idea of breaking her legs and feeding her to his darling pet back home. Even that wouldn't satiate his sudden fury, however.

"I'd be more worried about you, miss," He drawled, over emphasizing as he went, the venom in his voice nearly palpable.

At face value Cairyn seemed to simply be an eccentric kid, though the Count was not much older than him there was an obvious gap in maturity. However, there was no current distaste with the boy. The success or failure of the mission could possibly change that, however. "Count." He corrected once again, taking a moment of pause to look at the building before them.

A sudden darkness washed over the boy as he eyed Anya, he could sense the bloodlust coming from the boy and it did not sit well with him at all. "Touch her and I'll kill you, you know?" He said nonchalantly, not even bothering to face the boy as he continued his examination of the building before them.

"Listen, though I want to employ stealth there is the chance of combat and it will not be easy. The House has several....advanced security measures that could prove deadly to a standard espionage team. HK series droids, Force User mercenaries, Ysalamari defensive measures, and a few other things."

"What is in that vault is only of use to a Force User so they believe only a Force User would try and take it. So here we are." He said, a small smile coming to his face.

"Now, first thing is first, we need to sneak in through the underground access tunnels." He turned back to the alley, gesturing to a manhole that no doubt led to a sewer. "We won't be enjoying this part."

With a slight flourish of his hand the manhole cover was raised from it's seal, tossed to the side by Adron's command of the Force. "In we go." He muttered before making his way over to the hole and dropping into the muck below.

[member="Cairyn Midore"] [member="Adron Malvern"]

Anya turned as she smiled directly at the kid a unnerving
One and approached him closely before her expressions changed to a much darker one

you best watch how you speak, I'd hate to ruin one with potential...so till i see it you are a kid to me till otherwise so

She moved back to adron as she listen and give a smirk, sounded like if they did see combat it would be quite fun and maybe even a challenge. She glanced to the manhole as it lifted and frowned but chuckled to herself

Definitely skills from the past will aid her, she used to traveler the sewers after she would kill someone, authorities never liked going down there and if they went droids she use to make quick work of them

She watched adron go down and followed using the force to slow her down as she landed on the muckand force only knows what as she waited for the kid to cone down...she honestly saw potential raw at that...something that could be very well molded...She just had to see first

His grin widened as Anya approached, warping into something far more malicious, unhinged. Testing the Count's little threat suddenly sounded like a fun idea. "That's okay, I'll just dissect both of you." His threat was half song, half snarl.

Just like that, the mood was dropped and the childish facade returned, as if the last few moments' exchange were but a minor inconvenience. He listened semi-intently to the briefing, mind wandering here and there. Had the rain lightened up? No, he determined. No it hadn't,

"So we beat the bad guys and steal the thing, right? Easy-peasy." What was the worst that could happen, someone ending up dead? Loosing his newfound 'friends' was a sacrifice he was willing to make on their behalf.

Raising his hand high in the air, waving it erratically in the air. "That sounds great and all, but why are you inviting me?"

When his person hit the mush, he could feel an orbalisk twitch in protest. It seemed these, like their new master, had developed minds of their own. Cairyn ignored it however, turning to Adron. "Well, lead the way, County-boy."

[member="Anya Loma"] | [member="Adron Malvern"]

When Cairyn asked why it was the Count had elected to bring him along he felt no reason to hide the truth. "Well, honestly I need to determine if you're an asset or a liability, this type of mission seemed appropriate. " He remarked, leading the way down the sewer tunnel.

As they made their way down the tunnel Adron exhaled, trying his best not to get a whiff of the bile and filth beneath them. "You know....when my Father told me a Count of Serenno would find himself dipped in the muck of his people....I never took it as a literal thing." It did not take long before all of the light in the tunnel had been enveloped by darkness. Reaching onto his utility belt the Count produced a small flashlight, tapping the button and bringing light to the group.

"So where are you from Cairyn And how did you end up here?" He asked, not bothering to look back at the boy. Soon their journey brought them to a ray shield, with a terminal on their side of the barrier. The Count approached the terminal, exhaling softly as he entered the code he had paid a considerable amount to obtain. He glanced at the barrier and smiled when it went down. "Come on." He said, taking point once again.

Glancing over to Anya, he could not help but smirk. "I promise this isn't what I meant when I said I'd take you to see more of my homeworld."

[member="Cairyn Midore"] [member="Anya Loma"]

[member="Adron Malvern"]

She ignored The kid, if anything she kinda smirked a bit and chuckled, she trudged on through the waste beneath her as she grimanced at the smell of it before she chuckled at adrons words....truely she was in the much of the people beside him

She could only smirk when he spoke to her, she then chuckled and said

Well I'm definitly seeing what most wouldnt see for sure now ain't I? And I'm seeing it with you

She watched the darkness envelope, her eyes had a eerie red glow as she blinked

[member="Cairyn Midore"]

"And if you think I am a liability? What, are you gonna do, kill me?" He wouldn't be surprised if that were the case, not could he really blame the man if he thought that way. Were Cairyn to have his way, anyone who didn't stand to benefit the boy would be long gone and forgotten.

Walking through the tunnel, his movements were uncharacteristically subdued, as if the sloshy mess at their feet had sapped up is typically abundant energy. Rather than jumping around, he followed rather quietly, a gentle hum reverberating from his vocal chords as a song filled the empty spaces of his head, each note claiming his attention so much so that he very nearly missed the next time he was addressed.

"Hmm? Ah, nowhere special," the boy drawled, memories of his homeworld coming to mind then promptly pushed aside. "Mum 'n dad didn't want lil ol' me after a few, uh accidents." He didn't bother with the details of said accidents, his brain already fast forwarding through the years. "And then the circus got too boring for me and, I dunno, here I am now! You guys got real lucky." He skipped the majority of the details, preferring to leave most of his story out of the limelight. "What about you, county? What're your deep, dark secrets?" Cairyn continued as they moved past the barrier.

[member="Adron Malvern"] | [member="Anya Loma"]

Once they passed the barrier it was not long until they found themselves staring at a blast door, that seemed to seal the lower parts of the building from the rest of the sewers. Pulling his lightsaber from his hip Adron rolled his thumb over the activation pad, a brilliant white blade springing from the emitter. He arched a brow at Cairyn when he asked about Adron, the Count simply shrugged at his questions before planting his blade into the side of the blast door. "Not much special about me, kid."

"I was raised on Serenno by my parents, raised to be a soldier, Count, Jedi, political figure, you name it." He stated, moving the lightsaber from one end of the blast door to the other. "Pretty much the standard nobility...." He said, though that statement was far from the truth.

Once he had finally gone through the blast door Adron stepped back, gesturing to Anya. "Help me with this." He said, tapping into the Force as he stepped back a few more paces. With Anya's help they would blow a kinetic wave towards the door that would rip it from it's snug position against the metal clasp. As the door fell back into the access route Adron stepped forward, glancing back at Cairyn. "Ready for some fun?" He questioned.

Peeking his head into the hold he could see an adjacent tunnel, where a grouping of lights seemed to be making their way towards the noise the group had made.

A security team no doubt, simply a group of IG-100 Droid's patrolling their sector. Adron glanced back to Cairyn and gestured towards the patrol's illuminated tunnel. "You're up." He said, giving him the go ahead.

[member="Cairyn Midore"] [member="Anya Loma"]

[member="Adron Malvern"] [member="Cairyn Midore"]

She looked to The kid for a moment, she then spoke

everyone has their uses kid, if I may praise you a bit, you seem like one good enough for doing dirty work..maybe if you make it out alove I'll train you

Her voice was full of the truth...the kid reminded her of herself when she was younger...even down to the crazy part, she stopped as she held her own saber knowing this was gonna make a lot of noise and wanted to be ready. She flicked her hand with little effort watching the door fly

She looked to the kid as she smiled, she motioned for him to make a grand entrance on them

"So, boring, then? Yawn." His tendency for dismissive had him tossing the information aside like a broken toy. The woman's offer to train him had him scoffing. He had his armor, he had some vague concept of how to use the force, and he had a lightsaber. What more did he possibly need?

At mention of fun, he gave a little shudder of excitement, snapping his lightsaber to his hand and walking with a bit of a skip in his step. He was all too happy to take the lead, strolling through broken door like he were on his way to a party.

With the go ahead, a savage grin crept onto Cairyn's face, stopping just short of his eyes. He stalked forward, the lightsaber providing a gentle hum until he moved. He did so in a flurry of motion, propelling himself into the air flipping as he hit the apex of the jump, landing in the midst of the patrol group. His lightsaber cascaded with him, slicing through the closest droid. He continued his miniature crusade with little concern for what hits he endured, the orbalisks and their exoskeleton making all the difference between him and an early grave as he slashed and lunged with a style vaguely similar to Ataru.

[member="Anya Loma"] | [member="Adron Malvern"]

"Crude and untrained, yet not all together useless." Adron commented, taking notice of the boy's skills. "He's outside my ability to train but maybe he could be of use to you?" He questioned, turning his attention to Anya.

The scene before him only made his alertness rise as he worried about the results of them being caught too early. However, he knew there was no chance of the Droid's having a moment to signal back to a terminal that they were under attack, because they were all already spare parts. Passing through the broken threshold Adron approached the boy, nodding acceptingly at his work. "Impressive." He chuckled, kneeling down to examine the droids. "IG-100's are specifically designed to face force users, you dispatched them with ease."

Glancing down the tunnel it was obvious they had entered the service areas, the smell of filth and waste no longer filling the Count's nostrils and their feet moving over solid concrete rather than an impressive muck.

"Come on." He said, continuing down the service tunnel. They found themselves staring at a ladder that led into the basement to the building, he gestured for Anya to go first, smiling at her. "Ladies first." He said.

[member="Adron Malvern"] [member="Cairyn Midore"]

She had to admit She was very impressed at the sight, sure it lacked any really grace and such but the boy was defintly something...a violent deadly user who just took out droids meant to kill force users with ease

truely, this boy is a diamond in the rough, remonds me way to much of myself at his age...drfibtly something I want to see if I can make into something more

She walked forward as she looked down at the droids, shifted one up to inspect it as she gave a nod with a smile, truely taking out this many at his level was worthy of praise

indeed, definitly a bit rough on the movement, plus your letting that armor act as a disadvantage...sure it's taking the hits bur..you must not rely on it always...

With that bit of wisdom out she followed adron as she looked to the ladder, she turned and jumped down grabbing half way slowly going down before hitting the ground softly

The first droid he'd expected to hit. Looking back, he was quite proud of that moment. The rest of the exchange was lost to him in his bout of savagery. A manic grin remained plastered on his face the majority of the battle, the red glow of his blade reflecting in the thick frames of his glasses. Truly, there were moments here and there that his vision was little more than a red flash as he slashed and carved his way through the droids.

The battle was over far before Cairyn was ready to quit. Standing above the scrap metal, he continued waving his blade about, reducing the scrap to even more indistinguishable pieces. Even as Adron approached, he wasn't quite over the exhilaration of finally seeing some action. He pivoted with the intention to strike the Count down, halting just as recognition struck him. Oh. Done already?

"They weren't much of a challenge," he replied, voice growing sullen as boredom once again set back in. Granted, without his armor he'd be fried three times over, but there was no need to mention that. He wasn't the only one to recognize that. Rather, it seemed Anya understood more than he did. To her comment, he tilted his head to the side, facade returning to its childish state. "My pets do their job."

[member="Anya Loma"] | [member="Adron Malvern"]

Having made their way to the basement of the corporate building Adron felt they were doing well so far, yet they had quite a bit to go. He led the group up a flight of stairs glancing back at the two in tow. "There will be more droids ahead, but we'll also be dealing with actual soldiers. No killing unless absolutely necessary." His eyes fell on Cairyn with small smirk. "Doubly so for you, kid." He added.

The basement was left behind for the building's lobby. The pearl interior was actually quite elegant, though there were security cameras placed through out the halls before them. The Count produced a small holoemitter, pulling up a schematic of the building in his hands. Giving it a quick look over he realized the security office in charge of the cameras was on this very floor.

"Good news and bad news. Bad news, there are security cameras all over, we cannot be seen or else it could pose a problem. Good news, the office is down that hall." He pointed to the adjacent hall, pulling his cowl down over his shoulders. "Bad news again, there are not any blind spots between us and the office. Any ideas?" He asked, taking a look at the room surrounding them, trying to find out what they could use to their advantage.

[member="Cairyn Midore"] [member="Anya Loma"]

[member="Adron Malvern"] [member="Cairyn Midore"]
She followed close as She glanced around, seemed fancy even for the bottom floor. She nodded about not killing and chuckled glancing to the kid as she spoke to him

I know, but taking hits like that gets you used to it..what if your without armor and you try that...

She shook her head then looked at the hall...too many cameras no blind spots, this really wasn't in their advantage at all. However she looked and spotted a fuse box as she moved to it and looked it over

isolated power jist I case power went out they have cameras still looks like I just need to give it a shock and throw it

She looked and waited for a answer before she acted
