The Dark Wardens
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
- Intent: After watching a few friends play Monster Hunter World, I thought it’d be neat to combine that with Dragon Age’s Grey Wardens, and Warhammer 40k’s Grey Knights. Placing that in the context of the Commonwealth Guild.

From there, prospective members are often recruited based on exceptional skills, expertise in combat, and a deep understanding of supernatural threats. Initiates undergo rigorous training, including both physical and mental challenges, to prove their readiness for the daunting tasks that lie ahead.
Initiation into the Dark Wardens involves a period of intense training and testing, during which recruits demonstrate their proficiency in various areas, from combat techniques to knowledge of Sithspawn lore. The order values not only individual prowess but also the ability to work seamlessly within a team, recognizing that unity is crucial in facing supernatural adversaries.
For those seeking to join the Dark Wardens, expressing interest and demonstrating a genuine commitment to the order's mission is the first step. Recruitment is selective, with candidates carefully evaluated for their skills, discipline, and dedication to the cause. Once accepted, members become part of a close-knit community dedicated to protecting the Dosuunian Commonwealth from the shadows that lurk beyond. - Climate: Within the stone walls of their fortress-monastery on Hattusa, the Dark Wardens cultivate an atmosphere that seamlessly blends mysticism with military precision. - Reputation: Externally, the Dark Wardens are viewed with a mixture of awe and apprehension. While their unwavering commitment to defending the Commonwealth from supernatural threats is respected, the secretive nature of their work often leaves others uneasy. Some view them as saviors, protectors against the unseen horrors, while others harbor suspicion, uncertain of the methods and rituals employed by these guardians of the netherworld.
- Curios: Dark Wardens bear the mark of their allegiance in subtle yet powerful ways. Each member receives a unique enchanted amulet, crafted in a sacred ceremony, which serves as both a badge of honor and a conduit for protective energies. Additionally, tattoos of ancient glyphs are inscribed on their forearms, signifying their initiation into the mystical brotherhood. These markings are concealed beneath their armor but carry profound significance within the order.
- Rules: While the Dark Wardens do not follow a strict code like the Jedi or Sith, they adhere to a set of principles known as the "Warden's Oath." This oath emphasizes the duty to protect the Commonwealth from supernatural threats, the preservation of ancient knowledge, and the secrecy of their operations. The Dark Wardens maintain a respect for the mystical forces they harness, adopting a philosophy that seeks to balance the ethereal and material realms.
- Goals: The primary mission of the Dark Wardens is to safeguard the Commonwealth from supernatural threats that lurk in the shadows. Masters of arcane lore and wielders of specialized weaponry, these hunters traverse the boundaries between the physical and metaphysical realms, standing as the bulwark against the malevolent energies that seek to unravel the fabric of reality.
They are often deployed to areas where Sithspawn or other force aberrations have been detected. Their duties include reconnaissance, hunting, and, when necessary, the eradication of the unnatural. They work closely with the Commonwealth's Guild and other intelligence agencies, sharing information and coordinating efforts to neutralize emerging threats.
In times of dire need, the Dark Wardens can be called upon to assist the broader Commonwealth forces, bringing their unique set of skills to bear against the most malevolent of adversaries.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The origins of the Dark Wardens trace back to the aftermath of the Sith Empire's influence on Dosuun. As the echoes of the Sith Resurgence reverberated through the galaxy, a group of individuals with a deep understanding of the supernatural emerged to safeguard the Commonwealth from Sithspawn and other malevolent forces.
In the wake of the Sith Occupation, a clandestine organization known as the Dark Wardens was founded on Dosuun's moon, Hattusa. Composed of Force-sensitive individuals, seasoned hunters, and scholars versed in occult knowledge, the Dark Wardens aimed to counteract the residual dark energies left behind by the Sith.
When the Commonwealth and subsequently its Guild of Force Users formed, the Dark Wardens soon ‘organized’ within the Guild and emerged as one of the first radiant orders. They have quickly become one of the most popular orders in the Commonwealth. Often treated as if they were celebrities which has led the order to carefully watch what they do and how they’re perceived.
* = Will be subbed at a later date, Hattusa is Dosuun's moon.
