Private The Day the World Stood Still

Dral sat in his room, the lights off, the darkness of the closed room consuming him. His eyes were closed as he brought himself deeper, deeper into the darkness that the force held. Diving deeper within what could be, and what might be. Letting the darkness wash over him like crashing waves, as he reached out into the void, in the hopes of finding something he had not known.
Dral's new master was not one that would continue his learning in saber duels, the time for that had long since passed, but she was more than capable of teaching him more about the ways of the Sith and the Darkside as a whole. He could easily accept this fact, and took to it with great vigor, hoping to be able to further his interest in the force and to harness its power more efficiently.
Being one of the older acolytes he was definitely out of place when it came to learning, but he had the curiousness of youth still inside him, that drove him to learn as much as he could, allowing for him to be versed in to the old history of the sith, and reading up on abilities that the force can yield to those who were willing to learn.

Contrary to what her student might have believed, there was much that she could teach him of combat. She was a Thyrsian, she had been raised from a young age to fight, had existed with a vibroblade in hand for as long as she could recall. But he was pushing himself down that avenue, he did not need her to bring that side of him out. But if he wanted to be a well rounded Sith, he'd have to learn more than the art of the blade.
So it was that she came upon his door with something else in mind. Once more rasped down upon it and waited for him to open up. It was time for the true training to begin, and she had something of an idea of where to start. She had seen a lot of what he had at his disposal already, thanks to the creatures in the night. Saber, rend, they worked well in tandem, but she knew of other things which might further that end. To make going up against a horde of enemies simpler.

The darkness was all around him, as he continued his delve deeper and deeper into the force, feeling it as it surrounded him, as he kneeled in the center of his room his eyes closed, deep in concentration. Without a warning, the rasp on his door drew him out of the darkness.
Rising from his meditation he lit the room in some light before making his way to the door. Opening the door his eyes were drawn towards his new master where he gave a bow from the waist, giving her some respect in this regard.
"Master, I can only assume it is time to commence more official training?"
He asked this because besides their time when they had first met, had not any official training yet, he had done some more practice with his saber, as he had always done, but had been waiting to see what his new master had wished for him to begin to learn.

It took a moment, but soon enough the door was open and her Apprentice stood before her once more.
She took a step back when he appeared in the doorway, and nodded plainly in response to his question. All around his room the reek of darkness was evident, clearly she had interrupted him mid-seethe. Curiosity flashed over her expression for a mere moment, before she turned and began to head down the hall.
"Typically training will be done in the field," she explained, presuming that he was following. "But there are matters here I need to attend to first, so we'll go a more traditional route today. You do not seem the type fit for sorcery, there's nothing wrong with that it takes a certain kind of person, but there is still much within the Force that you can learn to strengthen your arsenal."
She led him through the halls, toward the training chambers. One in particular was slightly larger than the typical, it held a holo-simulator. They might not have been able to be off world, but that didn't mean they had to take their session into a boring dojo either.

With a nod Dral was on his new master's heel like a pup on a rainy day. His hands behind his back. He remembered walking these halls not so long ago with a hood over his head and a cane in his hand, not he stood tall and proud with his face on full display for others to look upon.
"Yes master, the force is a very important aspect of the dark side and of being a Sith. I may take to the sword much faster than I do the knowledge that the force has to offer, but I have not slacked in my studies master."
Dral added the last bit, knowing that she was right in many aspects, but he had made sure that he was still well trained in the aspects of the force that he had been trained in, whilst also striving to learn more about the force, looking upon other force users that were more inclined to the powers of the force than he was to learn.
Dral's stride matched her own as they made their way to the training champers. Finding one that suited her needs he followed her inside. His eyes glanced around the room as he took it in, he preferred more conventional places but if this is what his master sought for them then he would obviously obey.

The door slid open to reveal the space, and a panel on the back wall lit up and awaited her instructions. She stepped toward it as her Apprentice spoke, and began to finetune the simulation. There was more that she'd need, of course, that could not be manifested if he was to learn in true, so she had such sent for as the room began to shift and change. No more were they inside a stark white chamber, but a forest instead lay around them.
A far cry from the sands of Korriban to be sure.
A few platforms extended from the wall and up from the floor, though visually they appeared more as trees and branches than what they were. It was a remarkable space in truth, one that was often under appreciated. Through it one could begin to master the art of Sokan, that was using ones environment to their advantage. Not as great as being in the field and utilizing more natural occurrences, but still something.
"Today we're going to work on methods that will help when you're overwhelmed by too many forces. While we can pick our battles, and ensure that the odds are in our favour, there will always be instances where we're caught off guard. When there are simply too many bodies to keep track of."
She began to pace the room as she waited for the arrival of that which she'd sent for, her eyes were fixed upon Dral even as she circled him.
"We will go in stages. Should you show a particular affinity toward the skill, we will see about learning it in its most powerful form. Tell me, are you familiar at all with Force Stun?" It was the most basic of the forms surrounding stasis, a basic method for incapacitating one's enemies.
It only targeted one, though. With time, perhaps they could work their way up to multiple...

Looking around the room as suddenly it morphed and changed into a lush dense forest. Dral raised a brow slightly as he went and touched one of the objects that lay before him, feeling what looked like a tree, knowing that it was an illusion created by the room that the pair had entered.
Turning his attention towards his master he listened to her words, taking them in with a nod, focusing on her instructions and he question.
"I am aware of the technique, having read it before and also having seen its use once, but other than that I have no knowledge of its teachings master."
His attention towards his master he thought about his master's choice in that ability, it most likely lied within the day they had first met and he had fought off some local fauna that had attacked the pair, dispatching them easily enough, but having room for some improvement.

She nodded and allowed him time to gather his bearings as he explored the strange way in which the room had come to life. When the door at the entrance of the room opened she turned to it, and walked over as a droid brought in a couple of crates on a repulsor-lifted sled of sorts. The droid was dismissed almost immediately with just the flick of her wrist, and through the Force she lifted one of the crates down from the sled.
It opened fairly easy at her urging, and revealed a creature inside. A lifeform, not a droid or a simulation but a true beasty. It had to be something living for the ability to work, after all.
There was only one, though. One singular kath hound. But there were more crates.
"Okay, Apprentice," she said, forcing his attention back her way. Back toward him she turned, though she kept tabs on the location of the hound also. If provoked the thing would attack, but for now it seemed rather sedentary.
"Feel through the Force. We're going to try a simple stun first. It isn't as effective as its counterparts, but it will do the trick."
As she spoke she reached out her hand, and through the Force grasped the kath hound. Where previously it was moving around the room, sniffing at something or another, as the air around them shifted it halted in place, only its eyes seemed to be moving.
"You are extending your will over the beast. Holding it where it stands. Were it more than a mere kath hound it might seek to resist, but it is not..."
That was where stasis truly shined. You did more than simply hold it in place, you affected its very nervous system, prevented the messages from the brain to ever reach the muscles... But for now this would do.

He felt the kath hound before he saw it, feeling the life forms from each of the creatures that were held inside the creates, he could tell where this lesson was leading too, it was obvious of course. Listening to his master his mind followed the kath hound as it moved before Ayvari froze it as if it been frozen by some invisible force, which it had.
"Yes my master, I understand."
Dral never had been a man of many words, his eyes peered upon the beast as he closed his eyes focusing on holding the beast in his mind, letting his body feel the force that was inside the creature, however small it might be. He began to slowly spread this influence over the kath hound. Slowly his control spread until he could feel the control he had over the beast, taking a deep breath, he forced the creature to stop once more.
Again the creatures slowed to a stop, only his eyes seeming to be able to move as it looked upon the pair with some sort of terror, not even being able to fathom what they were doing, only knowing that he couldn't move. It was a sad life for such a simple being.
After a few moments before looking back upon his master, he had taken what he had known from her words and from his knowledge of force choke and grip to apply it to this new ability, he now had to figure out how to be able to use it against multiple opponents, which made him fathom the thought of force choking multiple opponents.
"I understand what you mean master, allowing myself to control the creature's will and dominate it into submission."

"Good," she said, with a firm nod, as he took over the suppression of the beast and held it in place once she'd relinquished her own control. She continued then to circle around, to observe as the beast struggled against such treatment. Not yet permitting him to release it.
"But all you do here is subjugate its will. Should it have the know-how it could easily escape your grasp. Sentient beings will not go down quite so easily, Apprentice, and so we must attempt new ways to achieve the same. Sink deeper within it, Student, seek that which permits the beast movement in true. The nerves, the neurons which fire within one's mind... Exert your will over these, rather than the limbs themselves, and even those with stronger minds will struggle to revert your hold."
Of course it was difficult to know whether one was achieving such on a creature that was already under such a spell. So she waved her hand, and opened the second crate. Another creature prowled forth, a secondary target for the man to focus upon. Not fully sentient, and not so visibly dangerous as the Kath Hound, the monkey-lizard might have seemed an odd choice to present before him. But they had more will than a mere beast, their semi-sentient state afforded them much more control.
And it would allow Dral a greater chance to exert this deeper will.
